ABOUT ME
I love traveling, hiking in the mountains, spending nights in the „wilderness“. What better way to understand nature and the world around us than to venture out into it? I believe personal experience teaches us more than a thousand books. I try not to live in a closed bubble, to be open to new ideas and technologies, and to keep learning.

ARCHITECTURAL COMPETITION FOR THE DESIGN OF THE REVITALIZATION OF THE FORMER BARRACKS

Our design won the third place in the architectural competition of the Czech Chamber of Architects.
Park on the site of the former barracks is not only a new oasis of the city, but also an important intersection of paths and links in the locality. The north-south axis connects to the urban system of the city and ties together a range of activities - a playground, park, community garden, leisure centre or a central open space

with variable use. The area is functionally and visually linked to the botanical garden and has both an educational and, above all, a social function. The park aims at a state where it is a „space of its users“, who are directly involved in the life of the park.

Under the guidance of Ing. Vladimír Sitta and Tereza Havránková with the support of FA CTU in Prague.
ACROBAT
There is no ideal in nature. The visitor balances like an acrobat, navigating a winding path between leaning cypress trees, destabilized, trying to find balance. He arrives at a hypothetical paradise, a place of reconciliation with the gurgling water surrounded by white flowers. Colored peepholes suggest to the visitor that everything is an illusion, that the ideal does not exist. Once again, he looks at the world with „rose-coloured glasses“.
The Chaumont Chateau Park is a centre of landscape architecture. Every year, renowned studios from all over the world try to make their way to the garden festival here. This year, our student team from FA CTU succeeded with garden Acrobat, which made it from 150 designs to 24 implemented. We gained an extraordinary experience of taking a project from the first sketches to the actual implementation, and at the same time meeting landscape designers from all over the world.

international competition
The garden reflects a society that is constantly chasing an ideal. We agonize to achieve it, but is it possible?
Driven by this compulsion, we discover the superficiality and emptiness of the term. We fall into apathy and return to the beginning, disgusted by this disillusionment. Being human also involves imperfection, mistakes and transgressions.
Slow down, relax, look, observe and balance. The world is a vastly diverse place where we can seek and find balance.

AMONG THE WILLOWS
Prague - Braník
Author: Berenika PilařováThe place on the bank of the Vltava River is located directly under the Braník Rocks. I want to create a green oasis, where people like to go in the afternoon.
Cutting down some trees will reveal a new path along the coastal wall. Pontoon piers in the shade of the willows will offer opportunities for swimming and relaxation. Seating, portable furniture and changing facilities await in the arches of the old wall.
The focus of the whole area is the open space by the petrol station, which no longer dominates it. A refreshment area with seating and a view of the water, on which the central pier floats, is created here.

Our design was awarded in the architectural competition of the Czech Chamber of Architects.
The design of the new park on the banks of the Vltava River works with the restrictions resulting from the flood zone. We are using a disused railway siding, on which we are placing carriages with various uses - a bistro, a stage, a playground, the background of a community garden.

landscape - urban planning competition
We are using the space under the bridges to accommodate sports fields. These will be able to be used in the rain, in the winter, and in the evening thanks to good lighting.
We are adding new entrances to the park to make it more accessible to the wider area. Most important is the newly designed path along the railway to the Holešovice railway station.

zone, improving permeability and calming traffic. We are emphasising existing values and complementing them in a sensitive way. We are adding a wooden lodge to the disjointed mass of the castle, freeing up the cramped space in front of the church and making the parish garden more accessible. The church tower is the focus of the design. It is a natural dominant feature of the wider surroundings, and therefore the proposed spatial composition derives from it.

INTERPRETATION OF THE EXTINCT VILLAGE OF LIBKOVICE , RESTORATION OF THE PILGRIMAGE ROUTE FROM MARIÁNSKÉ RADČICE TO OSEK
Recultivation of the landscape around the Bílina quarry
Author: Berenika PilařováSurface coal quarries are a huge blow to the landscape. How to heal it so that it does not remain scarred?
The study focuses on the restoration of the pilgrimage route, which is an important cultural asset of the landscape. It reestablishes lost links in the vicinity of the quarry and looks for newly created relationships on the reclaimed slopes of the spoil heaps. The preserved original niche chapels are complemented by new chapels that can brighten up the landscape. They can ring like the bells of vanished churches in vanished villages, inviting pilgrims to travel. A journey to find a new identity.
student project
The work deals in detail with the vanished village of Libkovice, from where the inhabitants were evicted due to mining. What can replace the lost home? Natives entering their former homeland should perceive the place and know where they are. The relationship between the landscape and its inhabitants needs to be restored.
The concept is based on restoring the former mass of the development. The buildings are interpreted by the mass of trees. The „streets“ look familiar to people. They see the tower of the church (Populus nigra ‚Italica‘) and recognises the corner where the pub used to be.

WATER PROBLEM? DOESN‘T MATTER!
What are the ways to mitigate climate change effect in river system of the Matter valley ?

I water my garden every day in the summer and still most of my plants have died. This year the crop will be very poor.
The proposed set of measures addresses water management in the light of climate change. The landscape is facing increased runoff, melting glaciers, torrential rains with flash floods. On the other hand, extreme droughts are expected in the future.
This set of measures offers solutions that are applicable in mountain environments where climate change is occurring and are transferable to other locations in the Alps. Its use is demonstrated in the Matter Vispa river basin.
Our son has always wanted to play in the river, but we can't let him in. It's so fast and dangerous!
My hotel gets under the water three times a year due to flooding. i'm thinking it would be better to close the hotel than keep paying to repair the damage.

It's so fast and dangerous!

I thought I'd escape the hot weather by going on holiday to the Alps. But it's so hot here too!
RIVER PROMENADE IN ZERMATT
The annual flooding in Zermatt can be prevented by widening the riverbed. A riverside promenade along the water will connect the whole town.
By lowering the level of some streets, people can get closer to the water and interact with it. In case of higher water levels, the path on the other side of the river, which is elevated above the maximum water level, can be used. This creates more space for the water to flow safely, which residents can use for leisure activities.
The modifications to the riverbed have made my hotel much more attractive as it is located right next to the river promenade. And finally, it's not flooded anymore!

The renaturation of the river has slowed down the flow of water and we can finally get closer to it. We love spending time walking along the river walk and splashing our feet in the water!

WHAT TO DO WITH VINOŘ?
Praha - Vinoř
student project Author: Berenika PilařováFormerly a village, now part of Prague. With the growing development, the historical centre with the square is on the edge of the village. Today the function of the centre is fulfilled by fragmented spaces along the busy traffic route. I propose a new centre - a square with a park in the heart of Vinoř.
GRID
The concept of the space is set in an imaginary grid that connects the entire design. This grid is quite regular on the square and mirrors itself on the other side into the park, where it gradually breaks down to create the impression of an irregular arrangement. In reality, the elements are still bound by the grid.

RURAL GARDEN
Borek nad Sázavou
Author:
Berenika PilařováThe area is located on the outskirts of the smaller village of Borek nad Sázavou. It is unique for its location on the border of built-up and unbuilt-up area. The garden thus becomes a transitional element between the village and the open countryside. This continuity is reflected in the character of the garden, the functional structure and the species composition of the vegetation.
