The Village Hall

he trustees of the Benwick village hall would like to wish all in the village a Happy New Year.
This year we are holding a tombola every month which will be on the 4th Friday of each month starting on the 25th January, then 22nd February, 22nd March etc. On the third Saturday of each month there will be a cinema showing a film for children in the morning at 10.30am and then another showing in the evening mainly for adults at 7.30pm starting from 19th January 2013. We have the fantasy club in the hall on the second Saturday of the month from 10.30am until 4.30pm and during term time on week days we have on Tuesday the Beavers followed by the Scouts and on Wednesdays we have the Cubs.
The church will be holding services on the first and third Sundays of the month from 9.30am and all are welcome to attend. Our first main event will be the Burns night on Saturday 26th January, see poster in this magazine and we are planning another supper to celebrate St. George’s day on Saturday 20th April with our usual Harvest supper on the evening of Saturday 28th September and finally the Bazaar 2013 on the 14th December. The trustees look forward to welcoming you all to these events which we hope you can fit into your diaries. With the increased support of the village the trustees are finally beginning to show a small profit over the past two years even though we closed for three months last year for the refurbishment and with your support we hope to be able to keep the cost to users down to the level of last year for as long as possible but at least for the rest of 2013.
On the first Thursday of the month we have the Forget-me-Nots and every remaining Thursday is for the Martial Arts group which moves to the Monday when the Forget-me-Nots are in the hall with meeting times from.7.00pm until 9.00pm The Benwick Ladies Club will be meeting in the side room of the hall on the third Monday of the month from 7.30pm until 9.30pm www.benwickbugle.co.uk 24
