CODE OF CONDUCT
The City of Benton Parks and Recreation expect reasonable and appropriate behavior from those who visit and use the facilities and participate in activities. Benton Parks and Recreation has established a code of conduct to ensure safety and enjoyment and reserves the right to deny admission and/or take disciplinary action against any individual violating the code of conduct. A violation includes, but is not limited to, the use of obscene language or gestures, disorderly conduct, theft, public intoxication, use of drugs, sexual misconduct, indecency, harassment, failure to cooperate with staff, possession of weapons of any kind, non-compliance with established policies and rules, an unlawful activity and any other behavior deemed offensive or unacceptable.

Saline River Canoe Race
In partnership with Saline River Canoe, this unique race will take you along the Saline River Water Trail from Peeler Bend to Lyle Park. Prizes and entertainment for the entire family to enjoy!
Jeepers Halloween
A one-of-a-kind Halloween event for the entire family. Entertainment includes bounce houses, trick-ortreating, games and a decorated Jeep display!
Small Town Christmas
The City of Benton will have plenty of family activities for you, including the skating rink, the entire month of December. Located at the Downtown Benton Farmers Market.
Movies in the Park
A series of movie events in our park facilities with each event providing opportunities to gather as a community. Movies in the Park allows residents to enjoy themselves outdoors or in the pool These movies consist of age and content appropriate viewing to enhance the family atmosphere.

Once your child begins swimming on a team, they will see the benefits of the sport that you would have never realized before. We want to spread the message and make sure all parents know just how great the sport of swimming can be.

River Center School of Swim
We are proud to offer swim lessons at River Center Natatorium. We strongly believe that all children should learn the lifesaving skills of swimming in a comfortable environment. Our semi private swim lesson program is designed to teach safety first. We teach the proper stroke technique second. We offer many different levels of lessons for swimmers of all abilities. We help swimmers learn the basics and get them ready for swim team or just to enjoy the pool with their family and friends. At River Center, swimming is a way of life and swimming is fun! We offer 4 levels of development that start with Mommy and Me classes and eventually teaches all four proper strokes. Private and group lessons available.
Dates: All year. Lessons during the summer months run for 4 weeks and during the winter months for 6 weeks. Exact times vary. Contact Adam Nelsen at aquatics@bentonar.org for more details.

Swimming Without Limits
The (SWOL) program is a special part of the Benton Sharks Team. The group is composed of atypical kids who wish to be included in typical sports. Swimming Without Limits emphasizes inclusiveness, learning water skills, and having fun while building confidence and relationships with others. Parents and swimmers in this program have cultivated beautiful friendships and gained life skills they carry forward for years to come.
Underwater Easter Egg Hunt
Come join our lifeguards for a twist on your usual Easter Egg Hunt. Enjoy pictures with the Easter Bunny while waiting for your age group! Bring your own Easter Basket (Mesh bags work great in the water).
Lifeguard Training
Join the River Center Aquatic Staff and become certified as an American Red Cross Lifeguard. All participants must pass a pre-course swim. Please bring a towel and wear one piece swimsuit or swim trunks. For more information contact Benton Parks and Recreation at aquatics@bentonar.org

Pool Parties
River Center offers unique birthday experiences in the best facility in Arkansas. We know your family will love to have a birthday celebration in our pool. Inflatables, rock wall, diving board, splash pad and a two story slide will keep your guests entertained. We offer two hour time slots and multiple options on times. Please come by the River Center front desk for more information about booking your party!

Adult Basketball League
Offering Lower, Middle, Upper, and Women’s divisions, this is an 8 Week Program; 6 weeks of Regular Season and 2 weeks of Tournament. Teams play one game per week on either Mondays, Tuesdays, and/or Thursdays. Up to 12 players on the roster. Free Agents welcome.

Adult Cornhole League
A 5-week season that includes an End of Season Playoff. We offer Recreational and Competitive Divisions as any two adults may register as a team. Teams will play 2 to 3 matches each night of games. Free Agents welcome.

Adult Kayaking Camps
Provided by Certified ACA Instructors, Michael & Tonya Sacomani with Saline River Canoe, our Kayaking Camps can help any level of paddler succeed and feel safer on the water. These are one day camps that last 6-7 hours from morning until early afternoon held locally on the Saline River. Multiple levels of courses such as Intro to Essentials 1 or 2 are provided.
Adult Co-ed Volleyball League
A co-ed league that offers Lower, Middle, and Upper Divisions. League encompasses 7 weeks of play that includes an End of Season Tournament. Skip weeks are provided over the Holidays. Up to 12 players on the roster. Free Agents welcome.

Adult Pickleball League
Spanning roughly 7 weeks and provides 6-7 nights of game play in December followed by a 2-3 night End of Season Tournament. Adults register as a team of 2 in either our Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced divisions determined by Pickleball Rankings. Free Agents welcome.

Jiu Jitsu
Classes are taught by Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instructor, Michael Hunter, who comes to us from Pure Land Jiu Jitsu. With a Sandan-3rd Degree Rank in Jiu Jitsu, Michael helped hundreds of individuals achieve their martial arts or self-defense goals. He provides classes that cover Beginner, Advanced, and Competition Training, as well as Advanced Techniques.
Open & Senior Pickleball
Benton Parks and Recreation offers Open Play Pickleball opportunities to all ages and abilities. Based on River Center Gymnasium availability, open play is scheduled on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 9:00AM-11:00AM. Senior Open Play is scheduled on Wednesdays from 9:00AM-11:00AM.

Hosting two 8 Week sessions in the Winter and Summer. This group meets once per week to work on skills, drills, and games. All ages and abilities are welcome; you do not have to be a chair user to participate. As the schedule allows, the Wheelchair Basketball program practices and plays year-round in the River Center and always welcomes new players!

Logan Bussard Memorial Miracle League
Miracle League offers three different divisions: Beginner League (Ages 3-6), Buddy League (Ages 7+), and Independent League (Ages 16+). This is a 6 Week Program [4 Weeks in the Fall] with all teams scheduled one game per week on either Mondays, Tuesdays, and/or Thursdays. Adults may play in either Buddy or Independent League. Buddy League strives to provide one Buddy per athlete to assist them during the game, Independent League strives to allow athletes to play independently to the best of their ability with limited Buddies on the field.

Adaptive Sports Camp
Adaptive Sports Camp provides a 4-6 week clinic opportunity to help participants engage and play in a variety of sports. Sports may include basketball, track, soccer, and/or bowling.

Unified Volleyball
To encourage inclusiveness in sports, Unified Volleyball strives to bring nontraditional and traditional athletes together to play Volleyball Games. The program includes two weeks of practices that lead up to 4-week, once per week game schedule.

Wheelchair Basketball
Youth Softball
Benton Parks offers two different spring league options: Benton Youth Softball League and the Saline County Softball League. The Benton Youth Softball League is a draft only league that plays all games in Benton and includes Allstar opportunities. The Saline County Softball League allows team registration and plays different towns at different ball parks with some home games in Benton.
[4 weeks in the Fall] All age divisions are provided with two games per week for a total of 8 games. No scores or standings are recorded to ensure this league focuses on player development. We allow team registration, draft, and free agent assistance to help all girls find a place to play!

Providing six weeks, one session per week, of specific training designed

Designed to provide training and skill development for league volleyball, but in a more unique and fun environment at our Sand Volleyball

Youth Track & Field
Our Youth Track & Field program is once a week for 8 weeks. During the program, based on age, participants are taught various running, throwing, and jumping events such as Sprinting, Relays, Distance, Discus, Shot Put, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Hurdles, and much more. At the end of the program, participants are divided into teams to compete in an officially timed Track Meet. The program closes with a celebrational Awards Banquet to encourage the kids efforts all summer long!

Youth Pickleball
As one of the fastest growing sports in the United States, Benton Parks offers a twice per week, 6-week Youth Pickleball Clinic. Participants will learn the various rules and gameplay of the sport, as they are trained on the many paddle strokes leading into gameplay.

Youth Wrestling Camp
Benton Parks offers a one-week camp to help families gain insight to the exciting sport of youth wrestling. Here, families can experience their child learning basic wrestling moves and competing in matches. The camp leads into the greater Youth Wrestling Purple Cobras Club that occurs in the Winter.

Youth Volleyball Clinics
Benton Parks offers a one-week camp to help girls tune up their volleyball skills and abilities. With partners such as Hendrix University Volleyball Team and Arkansas Select Volleyball, our clinics offer top notch information and training to help girls reach their full potential before we enter the greater Youth Volleyball Leagues towards the Winter.

Youth Volleyball Leagues
Offering three different volleyball league opportunities: Clinics only for 1st Grade Players, Recreation League for 2nd-9th Grade (draft only), and Competitive League for 4th-7th Grade (free agent and team registration). Both leagues are 6-week leagues with two games per week and includes an End of Season Tournament.

Youth Wrestling
Come join the Youth Wrestling Purple Cobras! Our wrestling club starts practices in November, and the program ends with the State Tournament the first weekend in March. Registration covers the participant’s wrestling singlet and USA AR Wrestling Membership. Saturday tournament opportunities are available, however these are optional and an additional charge.

Taught by Instructor Aleksandra Gerusova, our classes meet twice weekly each calendar month. Aleksandra comes to us with 20+ years of experience from Russia and holds two degrees in teaching dance.

January Rising Stars
A program where kids meet once per week to be introduced to different sports. Participants gain experience and skill development in a variety of sports and participant families get to see what sports interest their children more. Some of the sports introduced, we offer expanded programs during the year for solely that sport. In January, we cover Blastball, Volleyball, Track & Disc Golf.

February Rising Stars

A CoEd introductory t-ball league designed to help kids experience their first time on a field with other players. All equipment is provided by Benton Parks and Recreation. Only a soft bat and soft ball is used, so helmets and gloves are not required. This is a five week season in the spring and four week season in the fall.

Lil Putters
A four week, once per week clinic that introduces and teaches toddlers the fundamentals of Golf. Each week we review golfing stance, grip, club type, ball approach, and parts of a club. We use putters, wedges, and drivers to review putting, chipping, and long drive swings.

Little Olympians
Introducing and teaching toddlers to the sport of Track & Field. Each week we review starting stances, race components, and plyometric exercises. Throughout the clinic, we teach them sprinting, javelin throws, broad jump, long jump, hurdles, and finish with a exciting obstacle course race!

Lil Spikerz
Clinics that introduces and teaches toddlers the basics of Volleyball. Throughout the clinic, participants are taught bumping, setting, and serving. To preserve play and success, beach balls and dodgeballs are utilized along with volleyballs.

Outdoor Adventurers
In association with the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission’s Outdoor Skills Patch Program, our participants are provided a calendar with a dozen plus outdoor activities that occur throughout the year. These activities include, but are not limited to, Archery, Kayaking, Fishing, Education & Activity Courses, and much more. Many of the activities the participants complete they can earn a Patch to commemorate their newly learned skill and knowledge. Adventures are provided a Benton Parks Ranger Vest to display patches.

Youth Fishing Camps
In March, we offer two 1-week fishing camps in association with the Fishing in the Natural State Curriculum provided by the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission. Each night, participants learn Arkansas waters, fish, habitats, and more. Participants learn different parts to a fishing pole, how to rig a pole, they make their own lure, and practice casting. On the last night, families meet us for an afternoon of fishing at Sunset Lake. Benton Park supplies all needed equipment.

Youth Archery Lessons
Taught by a certified local school district Instructors, our Youth Archery Lessons are once a week for four
weeks. We provide Beginner and Advanced lessons following along with the NASP Curriculums. Participants get to practice shooting at 3D targets on the last week. We offer multiple months of lesson opportunities.

In the coming years, 511 acres of undeveloped land will be added to Benton’s Parks and Recreation System. Of the 511 acres purchased, the concept plan shows about 30% of it, and what Parks and Recreation plans to do. Soccer fields, a dog park, a pavilion, a swimming pool, a playground, baseball/softball fields, a passive/rain garden, river access parking, a boat ramp, kayak landing, a fishing deck, hiking trails and indoor soccer/ sports facility will be managed and maintained by Benton Parks and Recreation. Additionally, the land will connect the Lyle Park River access to the Cherry Demuth River access six miles down the Saline River. The first construction of about six soccer fields, is expected within two to three years. Other needs identified in the 2040 plan include paved bike trails, neighborhood parks, mountain biking trails, a tennis/pickleball complex, camp grounds, an archery range, a championship disc golf course, and a renovation of CW Lewis Stadium.
