Orientation Student Coordinator for Programming & Operations

2024- 2025

Highly motivated, enthusiastic, positive students, with an attention to detail, who are looking to enhance their leadership skills by serving as role models, guides and mentors to the Orientation Team, new students and families at Bentley University.

The Student Coordinator role will begin in December 2024 and complete the orientation program, September 2025. The students selected for these positions will work approximately 5 hours each week through the spring semester. In the summer beginning July 8th, Student Coordinators work approximately 30 hours weekly in-person/ on campus, with additional hours on pre-scheduled Fridays and some evenings as needed. Student Coordinators must be available for scheduled office hours, team trainings and the orientation program without any additional commitments.

Throughout the orientation program, student coordinators will work a cap of 60 hours and will be outlined and discussed in the summer as we get close to it.

Regardless of collateral assignments, all Student Coordinators will be responsible for helping to create a cohesive orientation team and holistic experience for incoming students in conjunction with the professional members of the Orientation Central Staff.

Staff must be available for the following commitments with recruitment, training, and program execution:

Externship Commitments Spring 2025:

• Orientation Team Study Break- December 10th, 2024

• Orientation Team Recruitment & Selection

• Accepted Students Day – April 2025

• Individual & Team meetings including:

o Bi-weekly check-in meetings

o Weekly team meetings

o 2 meetings with full Student Coordinator & Orientation Assistant team

o Orientation Team Retreat

o Orientation Team Working Meeting

• Creation of virtual engagement plan for new students prior to orientation in collaboration with the Student Coordinator, Onboarding Marketing & Communications

• Participate in conversations around the creation of in person event opportunities in the summer for incoming students

• Support Orientation & Student Onboarding with Falcon Foundations and First Year Area programs with the Residential Center

• Assist with the planning and implementation of social programming throughout the Orientation program

• Support data management and assessment for the Falcon Foundations program

Internship Commitments Summer 2025:

• Individual & Team meetings including:

o Weekly check-in meetings

o Weekly full group team meetings

o July Team Meeting

• New Falcon NESTworking & Falcon Live Chat Programs

• Orientation Team Training

• Orientation Program

o Please note, the Orientation Program is tentatively scheduled for August 28th- September 1st based on the most recent version of the University calendar.

• Assist with the planning and implementation of social programming throughout the Orientation program

• Manage Virtual engagement opportunities for new students prior to orientation with support of the Student Coordinator, Onboarding Communication & Marketing

• Support Orientation & Student Onboarding with various post orientation opportunities including Falcon 40, Falcon Foundations, and FY Area programs with the Residential Center

• Support data management and assessment including team pre & post training evaluations and program assessments including daily pulse surveys throughout the orientation program

• Assist with the implementation of programming for our pre-arrival students through collaboration with the Residential Center, Multicultural Center and Center for International Students & Scholars

• Assist with the logistics and operational pieces of the program including ways to best train the orientation leaders about the orientation program.

Please be prepared to assist in other duties as assigned and needed.

More information regarding spring/summer hours, team trainings, and the Orientation Program will be discussed with the central staff team.

In order to be hired for this position, you must be in good judicial standings with the University and, also, have a GPA of at least 2.7.

Compensation will be shared with a successful offer.
