
Orientation Student Coordinator 2025-2026
Position Description
The Orientation Student Coordinator – is a dynamic leadership position for highly motivated, enthusiastic students eager to serve as role models, guides, and mentors for Bentley University’s Orientation Team, new students, and families. Coordinators in this role will undertake diverse responsibilities across communication, marketing, logistics, operations, programming, and team training and development, with specific project-based assignments delegated by professional staff. This role is designed to support a holistic and cohesive orientation experience for all incoming students.
Core Responsibilities
• Contribute to team cohesion and serve as a role model for the Orientation Team and new students in partnership with professional central staff.
• Assist in planning, executing, and evaluating orientation programming, social events, and training initiatives.
• Support communication and marketing efforts, including content creation for social media accounts (e.g., @welcomefalcons Instagram and TikTok), flyers, newsletters, and digital orientation materials.
• Coordinate logistics and operations, such as room and space setup, inventory management, supply tracking, and technology needs with support of professional staff.
• Participate in recruitment, selection, training, and onboarding processes for orientation leaders and assistants.
• Support new student engagement through event planning, virtual programming, and facilitation of networking opportunities.
• Assist with operational documentation, orientation schedules, alumni engagement, and assessment/data management.
• Maintain flexibility to take on task- or project-driven collateral assignments as delegated, contributing as needed across functional areas.
Commitments & Schedule
• Role commences November 2025 and concludes with the orientation program in September 2026.
• Approximately 5 hours per week through the late fall-spring semester; increases to around 30 hours weekly on campus starting July 7, with up to 40 hours weekly in August. Will occasional hours as needed/available in June.
• Cap of 60 hours during the orientation program period.
• Availability required for scheduled office hours, training, recruitment and selection activities, team meetings, and program execution. Additional hours may be scheduled on Fridays (in the summer) and evenings.
• Participation in key events including Orientation Team Study Break, Implicit Bias Training, Recruitment, Accepted Students Day, team retreats, and the Orientation Program (tentatively August 27–31st, 2026)
• Adapt to adjustments in the role or modality of the program due to public health or extenuating circumstances as needed.

Qualifications
• Minimum GPA of 2.7 and good standing with Bentley University.

• Comfort in leading activities, teamwork, communication, and programming execution.
• Attention to detail and willingness to be delegated collateral duties and special projects as assigned.
