2026 Bentley University New Falcon Mentor Position Description

Orientation & Student Onboarding is seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic, positive students, with an attention to detail, who are looking to enhance their leadership skills by serving as role models, guides and mentors to new students and families at Bentley University.

Position Overview: The New Falcon Mentor is an upper-class student leader at Bentley University who plays a crucial role in supporting incoming students through their summer pre-college onboarding experience, known as the New Falcon Experience. This position involves guiding new students, providing valuable insights, and fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment to ensure a smooth transition to university life.

Hours: You will have the ability to work up to 20 hours for the spring semester (April- Early May)

• This includes supporting Admitted Students Day on April 11th and our initial team meeting on April 24th .

• New Falcons Mentors will begin working 20-25 hours per week beginning in May- August. There may be an opportunity for additional hours on a case-by-case basis.

Compensation: $15 an hour

All New Falcon Mentors will lead with the Bentley core values and be:

Key Responsibilities:

• Mentorship: Serve as a mentor to incoming students, offering guidance, support, and encouragement throughout the New Falcon Experience.

• Orientation Support: Assist in the planning and execution of orientation activities, including virtual sessions, workshops, and social events.

• Resource Sharing: Provide information about campus resources, academic programs, and student services to help new students navigate their first year at Bentley.

• Community Building: Foster a sense of community among new students by facilitating group discussions, icebreakers, and team-building activities.

• Communication: Maintain regular communication with assigned mentees, addressing their questions and concerns, and providing timely updates on important events and deadlines.

• Role Modeling: Demonstrate positive behavior and uphold Bentley University's values, serving as a role model for new students.

Qualifications:

• Must be an upper-class student at Bentley University in good academic standing.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Demonstrated leadership experience and involvement in campus activities.

• Ability to work collaboratively with other student leaders and university staff.

• Passion for helping others and creating a positive and inclusive environment.

• Living on campus during the summer or in commuting distance from campus.
