Application support

Customise your CV for each job application, highlighting relevant skills and experiences that match the job description. Keep it clear and concise. Use bullet points and short sentences to present information.

Profile: Start with a sentence or two introducing yourself and stating your professional title or current role.

Work experience: List your work experience, starting with your most recent job. Include job titles, company names, dates of employment, and a brief description of your responsibilities and achievements.

Highlight achievements: Showcase your accomplishments and contributions in each role rather than just listing role duties.

Quantify results: Where possible, quantify your achievements with numbers or percentages to demonstrate the impact you made.

Contact: Provide updated contact information, including your full name, phone number, and email address.

Skills: Include relevant skills and keywords related to the job you're applying for, including technical skills, soft skills, and industry-specific qualifications.

Education and training: List your education, qualifications, and any relevant training or certifications. Include the name of the institution, dates attended, and any honours or awards received.

Volunteer work and extracurricular activities: If relevant, include volunteer work, internships, and extracurricular activities that demonstrate relevant skills or interests.

A cover letter is a one-page document you upload with your CV that provides additional information about skills and experiences related to the job you're pursuing. Tailor your cover letter for each job application.

Use the body of the cover letter to highlight your most relevant skills, experiences, and achievements that align with the job requirements.

Address key requirements listed in the job description and explain how your skills and experiences make you a qualified candidate for the position.

Use the cover letter to showcase your personality and enthusiasm for the role and passion for Bentley. Keep your cover letter concise and to the point and avoid repeating information from your CV.

STAR Model example

Question: "Tell me about a time when you had to resolve a conflict within a team."

Situation: "In my previous role as a project manager, we encountered a conflict among team members during a critical phase of the project."

Task: "My task was to address the conflict and ensure that it didn't impede progress on the project."

Action: "I scheduled a meeting with the team members involved to understand their perspectives and identify the root cause of the conflict. I facilitated open communication and encouraged everyone to express their concerns respectfully. Then, I worked with each individual to find common ground and develop a solution that satisfied everyone's needs."

Result: "As a result of my intervention, we were able to resolve the conflict amicably and regain focus on our project goals. Team morale improved, and we successfully completed the project on time and within budget."
