It’s my pleasure to present to you the Q4 2020 Real Estate Report for residential properties in Houston, TX.
As illustrated in the last report, Q3 2020 brought an influx of new properties to the market at both the Harris County and local market area level - total active listings were still well behind pace. Closed sales were up in Q3 2020 v 2019.
Looking at Q4 2020, the year ended with strong activity for both New Listings and Closed Sales. Like Q3 2020, total active listings were still down in Q4 2020 v 2019. These figures include all three primary residential property types: single-family, townhomes, condos.
Looking at the 37 local market areas, 31/37 areas had more (or equal) new listings in Q4 2020 v 2019. In terms of closed sales, 33/37 areas had more (or equal) than in Q4 2019. Total active listings were down in 22/37 local market areas – many in the double digits.
