Navy Museum Hosts Navy Band CD Launch Resplendent in their dazzling white uniforms, members of the Royal New Zealand Navy Band entertained dignitaries and guests at the Navy Museum in Devonport to mark the launch of the band's first CD. Rear Admiral Jack Steer ONZM and HMS Philomel Commander Captain Corina Bruce were among the guests of honour at the March 12 event which was held in stunning Torpedo Bay evening sunshine. After 25 years, the RNZN Band has recorded a collection of military band favourites, as well as featuring internationally renowned tenor Simon O'Neill. A drinks and canapes reception preceded a fabulously entertaining live performance of some of the band's toe-tapping treats, which included some amusing stunts such as flying CDs and a tiny finger-sized trombone.
