Charter Day
The annual Benedict College Charter Day Scholarships Awards Dinner commemorates the chartering of the institution by the South Carolina Legislature on November 2, 1894. It is an occasion to collectively acknowledge corporations, businesses, alumni, and friends whose generosity has provided an invaluable service to the college in its role of offering a quality education to thousands of young men and women.
Through donations, that include scholarships, internships, financial contributions, equipment, and professional resources, this body of supporters has helped to reinforce Benedict’s mission and its ability to function at the cutting edge of educational change and innovation.
These exceptional collaborations help to add value to a Benedict College education – an education that empowers students with skills to enrich their lives and the lives of others, and an education that promotes character development and respect for humanity.
The establishment of the Benedict College Charter Day Scholarship Awards Dinner helps to bridge the gap
