It’s 90 years next month since the first council homes went up in Dagenham to create what would be known as “the largest housing estate in Europe”.
The Becontree Estate was part of the national Homes for Heroes programme to build houses for First World War veterans. Chittys Lane was the first street on the estate to be finished, on 7 November 1921. In the previous issue of thenews, we asked you share your
