My names Ben. I have a passion for creating things. I also enjoy understanding human behaviour and learning about psychology. I always found it interesting to see how people react differently to different products. To me the definition of design is creating something useful and innovative. 416 - 801 - 4844 ben_chew_sept@hotmail.com Something that would help and benefit our world.

EDUCATIONAL SEWAGE GAME VAKIN FLUSH IT OR TOSS IT by VAKIN is a sensor based interactive game, designed to teach children about flushing correctly. PROJECT TYPE: Industrial Designer, Group Project START DATE: 1 month project, 2019

VAKIN is a company based in Umeå, Sweden. The organization deals with food waste, water filtering and sewage waste throughout the city.

given was to design an interactive concept for VAKIN that teaches children about where to recycle metals, plastics, paper, and where to put food. PROJECT BRIEF 2. 3.
USER RESEARCH
1. We visited a local elementary school in Umeå to interview children in the target age group.
2.
On this trip we wanted to know what the kids did for fun and what were their hobbies.
IDEATION Through the information gathered from the interview with the children, we sat and discussed, and narrowed our ideas to 3 concepts: DIY turn food waste into soil process Flushing Video Games Sort the food from the plastic game 2.1. 3.
IDEATION Sort the food from the plastic game Flushing Video Game DIY turn food waste into soil process
USER TESTING
1. We then tested our idea with the kids at the school. Through the user testing we found that the kids were quite aware about the sustainability impacts, and knew how to recycle correctly.
2. From the user testing they seemed to have more interest in the physcial activity and the video games.
DESIGN RESOLUTION
FOCUS ON FLUSHING
We shifted our focus onto the flushing game. The final concept is an interactive swiping game where you would swipe left or right depending on if the item belonged in the trash can or the toilet.
2.
The final concept is an interactive swiping game. The large screen would have a sensor, for you to swipe right (to the toilet) or left (to the trash can).
TRASH
The trash can is a physical interactive element, that has a foot pedal. The user would step on the foot pedal to clear the trash after swiping left.
The sensor is used to read the users body movements. This is to allow the user to swipe left (to the trash can) or left (to the toilet bowl) depending on the item.
The flushing mechanism on the toilet bowl is an interactive element, that clears the toilet on the screen after swiping right on item.

book/design model created as a sustainability guide in 2002. It is now a non-profit organization setting standards/guidelines for products to meet. The company promotes a circular economy hence the term "cradle to cradle". WHAT IS CRADLE TO CRADLE? Design a sustainable Cradle to Cradle product.
THE PROBLEM
In the Terai regions of Nepal many families don't have access to clean water. Villagers must travel by foot for miles to the nearest tube well, which even then is still contaminated.
ARSENIC CONTAMINATION
Arsenic contamination is a common problem that is found within the wells. Arsenic is a poisonous metal that is found in the ground water which supplies the villages.

HEAVY RAINFALL
We began thinking of other ways we could supply water. The city of "Nepalganj", located in the Terai regions of Nepal has an annual rainfall of 1,152 mm yearly.
