About Our Parent Company Adata was founded in 2002, originating from an IT background with over 20 years’ experience. The company migrated into the evolving digital security market, where technologies were converging with the release of Digital Video recorders, replacing traditional analogue tape based solutions. As an early adopter of digital based security solutions, Adata was quickly recognised as a leading innovator, manufacturer and supplier of professional surveillance solutions.

As an industry pioneer there was a dynamic and passion to introduce ground breaking products and solutions that would enhance the way CCTV was used and the results it delivered. Early achievements included becoming the 1st manufacturer to provide a DVR, complete with integrated CD writer, allowing evidence to be removed digitally and directly from it. Adata was also the first company to introduce an H.264 real time recorder into the UK market, all of which have now become industry standard.

Energy Saving

Energy Saving & Preventing Cost Wastage With costs of energy rising, a standard lighting set up, however efficient it may be, is reliant on luminaires being switched off when the area is vacant to prevent wastage. With the use of lighting controls, from a simple PIR to a full building management system, energy usage can be significantly reduced to help save money and reduce carbon footprint. The flexibility of today’s lighting controls provide reassurance that the workspace will be fully compliant with Part L2 energy efficiency regulations and greatly assist, not only the saving of energy and the costs associated with this, but the management of energy use and energy preservation through dimming or absence recognition.

Daylight Detection During the hours of daylight, many buildings require little or no artificial light. The reality, however, is that most buildings are lit throughout the day. Luminaires with Addressable Drivers can be adjusted to maintain the desired working light levels and in many cases, achieving this can be done with a single sensor for an entire building. The comfort of those working in an environment can be attained by simple dimming, to reduce over lit designs to a level in which is suitable for the application of the area and the desired ambience of those within.

Absence Recognition Absence recognition knows when a room has been vacated and is essential to saving energy. The lights are turned on when somebody enters the area and manually switches them on, but will turn off automatically when the area is no longer active- ensuring no energy is wasted if the luminaires have failed to be switched off before exiting.

Emergency Lighting In times of power failure, it is essential that you have confidence in your emergency lighting provisions. With addressable lighting drivers, testing and recording is trouble free with programmed self test procedures at times of low risk. Should any unit fail, it is listed immediately as a problem reducing man hours in manual reporting.

All Qvis luminaires come with dimmable/addressable options and integral indicators on even the slimmest of products for emergency identification. Offering interchangeable drivers for 1-10v Analog, Digital Serial Interface (DSI), Digital Addressable Lighting Interface (DALI) dimming, we also work closely with lighting control specialists to give you the complete lighting solution. A microwave sensor in our LED 2D replacement Bulkhead for example, means even the simplest control offering can make a difference to energy saving and controlled light usage.

Qvis DALI options provide simplified installation and communication, yet maximum control and flexibility.

Wiring is simpler. Installation costs are lower.

Brief As part of Qvis Lighting’s ever increasing specification profile, we now supply the Southern CO OP stores with Modular LED lighting. ‘CO OP Welcome, 96 Harbour Parade, Southampton. SO15 1BA’ was our first new site, as previously the stores we have supplied had been retrofitting existing fluorescent luminaires.

Feedback Mick Mills, Service Director of DCI Refrigeration, has been continually impressed with the quality and ease of installation of our 600x600mm modular fittings. He decided to run with our proposal due to the uniformity of light from all viewing angles, given via the diffuser. Additionally, he praised the emergency version which incorporates an integral emergency indicator, built into the powder coated frame. The integral emergency solution was beneficial for both customer and installer as no additional wiring was required to fit the LED indicator into a separate ceiling tile; as often the contractor would be required to do, with this type of luminaire.

Richard Inglis has expressed his satisfaction with the installation and has said he would have no hesitation in recommending our slim-line panel for this application. He kindly allowed us to photograph the store which has given us an opportunity to show the standard and integral emergency versions in a working environment. The uniformity of light and well lit shelving has given the store a welcoming ambience and enhanced the products on display. This is one of several CO OP stores to benefit from LED as a light source, reducing maintenance and energy costs by doing so. Additionally, capital and installation costs have been reduced by integrating emergency lighting into the general luminaires.
