BIO My entry into the design world happened about 27 years ago after the birth of my son... I was struggling to find anything handmade or unique for my precious new born. I ended up in an embroidery workshop.

As the story goes... the next four years, I started gaining market share with my hand-embroided baby blanket range, which I designed, manufactured and wholesaled throughout Australia to Myer- David Jones- Georges, plus many baby boutiques.

My experience in the rag trade for over 20 years set me up to take on something so magical.

Merivale and Mr John along with Sally Browne just to name a few who I worked for/with within the 70’s and 80’s. This experience and time sparked my enthusiasm for more creativity in my life.

My career direction changed in the 90’s onwards resulting in a lengthy break from a creative life. I had 7 years heading up as a senior manager in a large recruitment firm, then opened my own firm for 3,5 years. Yes, many light years away from being a designer and being creative... I truly yearned to return to my first love, DESIGN...

The Belson Design journey began back in 2014, whilst I was attending classes/workshops in Melbourne, Sydney and New York City and exploring different places around the world which got me back on my creative feet. Through this fertile learning time, I gained the necessary technical skills to explore my creativity as a designer and learnt to embrace every rich possibility and opportunity that presented.

COLOR PALETTE

Concept Design vision for the kitchen/dining space was to create balance using horizontal lines, optimise every inch of space for family entertainment. Utilising white as the dominant base in the space to allow all elements in the room to breathe.

Design vision was to create 3 zones: Pushing the design out to both walls of the room, creating a central zone.

Furniture Design Brief Client requested a 4-metre custom made marble table for a completed Melbourne Apartment’s for a meeting room - on the 11th floor.

Concept Designed and Manufactured the meeting table in 3 segments. Due to the size and weight of the marble and the steel, the finishing process of the design required assembly on-site.

Dining Room Rendered | Floor Plan Brief The design for this Melbourne dining room was driven by client’s desire to have a “Manhattan Glam” style dining room.

Concept Design a glamorous yet liveable dining room and incorporate client’s love for pattern and texture. Graffito wallpaper by Kelly Wearstler was selected as the focal point of this room.

Bedroom Brief Clients required a gender-neutral guest bedroom and to incorporate their art work from Japan.

H & S Heirloom Blankets Concept Sharyn McBride founded and launched H&S Heirloom Blankets in 1992 as a result of the lack of handmade or unique baby blankets within the Australian market.

An exclusive hand embroidery range was designed with 2 designs, 3 sizes, 7 colour palettes and manufactured in Melbourne. Wholesaling and supplying throughout Australia to Myer, David Jones, Georges, Daimaru and over 80 exclusive baby boutiques for over 4 years.
