Bellfield College Junior School - Late to school procedures Assalamu Alaykum Dear parents and carers Your child’s best learning time is at the beginning of the day. Whilst we appreciate that family life may be busy, students are to arrive at school NO LATER THAN 8.30am. Students arriving at school after 8.30am are marked as late. Late arrivals are recorded as partial absences on student reports. Learning at Bellfield College Junior School commences at 8.30am sharp. Students who arrive after 8.30am are missing the morning Quran recitation. As of Monday 22nd March 2021, the school gates will close at 8.30am. Students arriving after 8.30am MUST be accompanied by a parent or carer to the Junior School office and signed in as a late arrival. Parents and carers MUST provide a valid reason for their child’s late arrival. If your child arrives late to school on more than three occasions over a two-week period, the school may need to pursue further action such as:
1. Issuing a first official notice letter which will require parents or carers to explain and justify the reoccurring lateness. 2. Issuing a second official notice letter, inviting parents and carers to meet with a member of the junior school executive team to formulate and implement an attendance improvement program.
