The Belle Haven Country Club experience is a community filled with members having lifelong friendships, shared values and great memories. Belle Haven is a private, family-oriented country club, just south of Old Town Alexandria in Fairfax County and nestled along the banks of the Potomac River adjacent to the George Washington Memorial Parkway.
What began as a modest 9-hole golf course and clubhouse in 1924 has grown into a full-service club boasting an 18-hole golf course renovated by worldrenowned architect, Arthur Hills, driving range with chipping and putting practice facilities, five indoor and eight outdoor tennis courts, two platform tennis courts, pickleball play with new courts under construction, state-of-the-art Fitness Center with group exercise rooms and an outdoor seasonal pool. Through all of those years, the club has first and foremost been a gathering spot for families and friends of all ages and stages.
Once accepted, the membership is friendly and welcomes new members to enjoy the many activities and special events held throughout the year.

GOLF
Belle Haven Country Club is proud to present its par 72, 6,965 yards, 18-hole championship golf course.
Redesigned in 2002-2003 by renowned golf course architect Arthur Hills, the course is considered to be one of the finest courses in Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic area. Hills created a course to challenge every golfer, with a slope rating as high as 74.9/14 and length of 6,965 yards.
One golf writer has noted that the re-designed course presents holes which are “each unique, begging players to examine every aspect of their game…the holes have a great rhythm and their variety sets them apart. Each is memorable.”
Several of the holes overlook the Potomac River and the course is just a short distance from downtown Washington DC, Capitol Hill or Tysons Corner easily accessible for all participants.
Our unparalleled practice facilities include a complete driving range, chipping green and two putting greens.
Our member Director of Golf, John Kauzlarich, and his team are here to create an outstanding golf experience with a golf calendar full of tournaments, special events and social functions. Men and lady golfers of every ability and experience level can benefit from instruction from our teaching pros, Chad Moseley, Dennis O’Donovan and the Club’s assistant pros dedicated to the game of golf.
TENNIS
The game has been a tradition at Belle Haven since the club was founded over 100 years ago. With eight outdoor clay courts boasting "California Corners" and five DecoTurf indoor courts, tennis is a year-round sport for Belle Haven families. The Athletic Facility houses five indoor courts (plus the Fitness Center) where a variety of clinics, individual and competitive play are happening each day. With thirteen courts, tennis enthusiasts will have multiple opportunities to test and improve their skills. We also offer a beautifully designed and well-stocked Tennis Pro Shop. Cardio Tennis is a way to combine a great workout with the love of tennis.
The tennis tradition includes tournaments throughout the year, for women, men, and families. Children can start playing as early as age 3 1/2 and the Club offers an exciting junior program for older kids. There are many chances for beginners and top-flight players to work with our excellent staff of tennis professionals. Brian Clay is our Director of Racquets and his staff is dedicated to all of the racquet sports.
There are a variety of programs for men, ladies and juniors: Interclub League of Northern Virginia where teams are fielded for both men and ladies, USTA Senior Tennis League, Friday Night Men's Doubles, Cardio Tennis, Junior tennis, Senior's Tennis, round robins, adult one day tennis camps, parties and much, much more!
PLATFORM TENNIS
One of the best ways to get some great exercise outside during the cold weather is to enjoy tennis on Belle Haven's two outdoor platform tennis courts. Belle Haven offers clinics to introduce the game to men, women, and junior players. Platform tennis is an excellent chance to meet new friends and enjoy old ones playing one of the best games around. Platform tennis functions, with beer, wine, and chili, are a terrific way to spend an evening outside in the fall and winter.
PICKLEBALL
Belle Haven CC now offers pickleball! This is a fast-growing sport that anyone can play. We currently offer indoor pickleball while we construct four new outdoor courts.
HEALTH & WELLNESS
If fitness is an important part of your life, our professionally-managed fitness facility will be an important reason to join Belle Haven. Belle Haven's state-of-the-art center is over 2,500 sq. ft. and, with one fitness classroom and one multipurpose workout room, provides multiple opportunities for our members to stay in shape.
Our Fitness Center contains state-of-the-art Cybex and True Fitness Treadmills, stationary bikes (both upright and recumbent) by True Fitness; elliptical trainers by Cybex, Octane, and Precor; as well as a Concept 2 Erg and four WaterRowers. All our cardio machines have personal TV screens for your viewing pleasure. For weight training, we have a full circuit of strength/weight machines by Hoist, Nautilus, and Cybex; we have a full set of free weights (1lb-80lb) dumbbells as well. We offer stretching stations and a myriad of exercise accessories to help give you the best possible workout. In our Athletic Facility was have a separate MultiPurpose Training Room with BattleRopes, SkiTrainers, as well was a brand-new Torque Fitness cage system. Three Peloton bicycles have been added, as well.
In additional to the above equipment, our Center offers golf and tennis training programs, strength and flexibility fit testing programs, sports and rehabilitation workouts, body composition testing, complete fitness evaluations and heart rate and blood pressure monitoring from Polar Body Age. Exercise classes, including Yoga, Pilates, Strong & Steady, and Boot Camp are offered, just to name a few.
Our members can take advantage of our certified personal trainers, available by appointment, to help you on your road to better health. The Fitness Center is located in the Athletic Facility which features a sauna and steam room in both the men's and ladies' spacious locker rooms; lockers are available for annual rental or complimentary day use. The Fitness Center also offers Aqua Aerobics.
AQUATICS
Summers at Belle Haven Country Club sometimes seem to revolve around the pool. For aerobic exercise, we recommend swimming laps in our eight-lane pool. We offer Early Bird morning lap swimming at 7:00am. For family fun, Belle Haven offers a graduated entry "kiddie pool" for children 6 and under. The "kiddie pool" offers two fun water features for kids: cascading water and bubblers for lots of summer enjoyment. Swim instruction is also available through our trained swim coaches. Enjoy lunch, dinners and snacks at the Sharks' Cafe next to the pool deck. Enjoy your favorite summer libations around the Shark Tank Pool Bar.
And, if you are looking for excitement, nothing beats a Belle Haven Sharks' swim meet. Our excellent swim team, a proud member of the Country Club Swimming and Diving Association (CCSDA, challenges clubs throughout northern Virginia and suburban Maryland in meets that run throughout June and July. After the meets, join our family friendly pool-deck parties. You'll quickly wonder what you did all summer without the Belle Haven pool.
YOUTH PROGRAMS
Belle Haven Country Club has always been an extraordinary place for our members, and now, it is an exceptional place for children, as well. From six years to young adult, Belle Haven is dedicated to providing well-rounded, educational, and unforgettable experiences for our youngest members. Look at all there is to do!
DINING – SOCIAL
The main level features family dining in a spectacular setting, overlooking the eighteenth fairway. Also, on the main level are Belle Haven's dining rooms spotlighting well-crafted dishes from our kitchen and an exciting wine list sure to satisfy any taste. After dinner, you will want to relax next to the cozy fire in our living room. On warm evenings, you may wish to dine outdoors on the newly-renovated terrace overlooking the grounds. Our bar and bar lounge are popular meeting places for our members to relax and unwind.
Enjoy our mid-winter black-tie balls, Easter Brunch, Easter Fun Day, Mother's Day Brunch, the Annual Independence Day Celebration, Feast on the Fairway, our Halloween Extravaganza, Thanksgiving, Visit with Santa, Christmas Holiday Happy Hour, New Year's Eve, afternoons at the 19th Hole Pub or back patio after a game of golf, all-you-can eat pasta nights and much more as you create memories with your family and friends at the Club.
The back patio is a place to relax and re-live the best shots of the day, or to meet friends for an informal lunch or dinner. The 19th Hole Bar and Par 3 dining room are adjacent to the back patio and an excellent place to relax, unwind and enjoy sporting events with multiple large TVs and a 360-degree bartop. We also have a family dining area on the lower level that features a top-of-the-line pizza oven.
Our banquet facilities offer the best setting in Northern Virginia for weddings, large events, small meetings or dinner receptions. Our lovely reception area outside of the ballroom will provide the perfect setting to begin your event. Surrounded by floor to ceiling windows overlooking the golf course and Potomac River, the Ballroom will make any host proud. We can accommodate up to 300 people for an elegant, seated reception and 250 people for dinner seating and dance floor. Our Potomac Room, Living Room and Gold Dining Room offer exceptional spaces for the perfect event.
