Still on PP 3.0?

Giving workforces the advanced tools to protect against cyber threats and complete tasks with the latest certified equipment is critical. It’s been nearly six years since NIAP released Protection Profile 4.0 for Peripheral Sharing Devices, yet some agencies are still using PP 3.0.

Why upgrade?

• Stronger security: PP 4.0 enforces stricter data isolation, anti-tamper features and clearer rules for peripheral use, reducing the risk of data leakage.

• Improved compliance: PP 4.0 aligns with modern cybersecurity standards, making it essential for government and enterprise environments that require up-to-date certifications.

The Belkin Modular Secure KVM series packs the latest in Common Criteria and NIAP Protection Profile version 4.0 design requirements in the smallest form factor available. This low-priced connector is future-proof because it supports legacy as well as current connectors. An included remote control and innovative mount options allow administrators to craft operator stations to meet security requirements while decluttering the desk.

Why choose this SKVM:

• Designed for NIAP PP PSD 4.0 compliance and TAA compliance.

• Video support for up to 4K (3840x2160), @30Hz refresh.

• Optional DP, mDP, DPMST, HDMI, DVI, VGA, and USB-C cables - host and console.

• Supports up to four host computers and available in a single head option: F1DN104MOD-DD-4

Lawmakers warn that shake-up poses cybersecurity setbacks and risks

Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s proposed reorganization would split the State Department’s Bureau of Cybersecurity and Digital Policy between two different offices, undermining its cyber diplomacy efforts. Experts and lawmakers warned that breaking up the bureau would create duplication and jeopardize coordination with 11 other agencies including the Pentagon and CISA. The move could weaken America’s ability to respond to cyber threats, despite the bureau’s success being built on its integrated approach to cybersecurity and digital policy.

Bipartisan legislation to unify Fed cyber rules revived

Senators Gary Peters and James Lankford have reintroduced bipartisan legislation to create an interagency committee that would harmonize federal cybersecurity regulations. The bill would have the national cyber director lead a committee of regulatory agency heads to identify inconsistent requirements and streamline compliance. The legislation previously passed committee with strong industry and administration support, but failed to receive a floor vote before the new Congress began.
