I run. Making ceramics is kind of like that: I go out, breathe, and feel alive. Add some good pain and a little crazy, and you have working in clay. Initially, I chose ceramics because of its many processes. I liked the physicality, the schlepping, the variety. When I committed to clay I felt like I was making a second commitment to myself: that I would always be in shape. I wanted to be strong, my whole life.
