Amy Smith is a studio artist living and working in Lincoln, NE. She is a recent recipient of the Lincoln Mayor's Arts Awards, specifically the Artistic Achievement Award - Visual Arts. She throws in porcelain to create forms that celebrate movement such as wind, running and a beating heart. Her soft, rhythmic work is often very calming. Smith received a BFA from Ohio University in Athens, OH and went on to pursue her MFA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
