Strategic Plan - Pillar III

Formation and Care of the Whole Person

At the very heart of Jesuit education is the understanding that the formation of students does not simply focus on the mind, but requires the care of the whole individual. The spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development of its students require an integrated curriculum that extends beyond the classroom and engages every member of the school community. Developing men of empathy must be at the core of our mission.

IN ORDER TO CONTINUE ITS MISSION OF THE FORMATION AND CARE OF THE WHOLE PERSON, BELEN JESUIT MUST FOCUS ITS EFFORTS IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

Greater opportunities for global experiences Building character and authentic masculinity Spiritual development of our students Social and emotional development Parents as partners in the formation of their sons

IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE THESE OBJECTIVES, BELEN JESUIT WILL NEED TO TAKE THE FOLLOWING ACTIONS:

Establish the Office of International StudiesImplement the “Ignatian Gentleman” series

Teach empathy and the responsibilities of being a man for others

Provide faculty and counselors with the tools required to support our students’ mental health needs

Develop our library space into a more student-centered learning environment

Integrate all athletic facilities into a re-imagined sports complex

Invest in WBLN and collaborate with schools nationally and internationally
