PUBLIC SPACE The Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen introduced the distintion of public and private domain based in three aspects: OWNERSHIP Spaces that under the possession and management of government ACCESSIBILITY Public space is accessible to all at every moment of the day PURPOSE It has a collective purpose, it serves to the public interest SOCIAL SPACE It is a is physical or virtual space such as a social center, Facebook, or other gathering place where people gather and interact COLLECTIVE SPACE Manuel Solá-Morales: ‘The Wealth of the city lies sin its collectives spaces, i alll the places where everyday life takes place, is manifested, is remembered’ There are different kinds of collective spaces. It could be private plots with a public domain, or private spaces that have been collectivised and act as a substitude of the neighborhood, or even they could be intermediate size places thatjoint the private space within the public space
