WHAT WILL YOU STUDY?
This study programme will provide you with the training you will need to develop your skills and experience to carry out bricklaying to industry standards. You will study a range of key topics, including thin joint masonry, solid walling, cavity walling and more.
This study programme will provide you with the training and experience you will need to develop advanced brickwork skills to an industry recognised standard, along with the additional skills required for supervisory roles. You will study a range of topics, including structural and decorative brickwork, repairing and maintaining masonry structures, erecting complex masonry structures and more.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO START?
Duration: 1 year • Bricklaying Level 1 Diploma with Functional Skills Duration: 2 years • 3 GCSEs grades A*-G or 9-1 ideally including English and maths and a keen interest in brickwork

• Health, Safety and Environment (CSCS) Test

AND • English and maths qualifications if required YOUR FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES: You can progress to the Brickwork Level 3 study programme (see next entry), or move into employment as a bricklayer.

YOUR FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES: You can gain employment as a Bricklaying apprentice where you can convert your qualification to an NVQ Level 3 through further study at the College, or study Technical & Professional Construction Advanced Level 3 (see next entry) to pursue a career in construction management. You could also apply for our Construction BTEC HNC/HND. Entry is subject to a successful interview.
