Beatriz Fernández-Ávila Architecture portfolio

e architect has to feel curiousity and desire to assimilate everything, even things outside architecture and to always look further for something better.
" e architecture is not complete until the human being has experience of it" For what is a container of di erent situations and thus allows social change to arise from within it.
e architecture has to transform the uncertainties into possibilities. Less is less, more is more; but always make the most with the least possible.
ABOU T ME
Hola! My name is Beatriz. I am a vocational architect. proactive and involved I am not paralyzed by challenging situations, and I am always curious and I am creative and innovative in what I do. I have a rm passion for my work, wich leads me to be willing to learn to grow in my architectural practice My experiences abroad have helped me to have a more substantial awareness about human necessities without matter where we live but at the same time the importance of cultural traces in our daily places.
Also, It has developed my interpersonal skills and team working abilities. Fascinated by the architecture and convinced that the way that we create spaces can radically change the life of the people that make use of them I am currently looking for new challenges to enrich my architectural knowledge as a whole.

TRAVIATA SINGLE HOUSE Arana Arquitectura

e project arises from the search for an architecture capable of re-identifying a new landscape as a system of organisation and linkage between the city and the port.

e whole piece was thought of as a landscape artefact with imperceptible volume changes outside, but with a human scale interior to promote interaction within.
e overall aim is a subtle disengagement of the physical presence of the architecture from its primary purpose, by bringing forth the interest that it produces.

SEEDS FOR COMING TOGETHER Kaira Looro competition

is proposal is the response to Kaira Looro competition and is created as a new place for the divine and the profane, versatile and accessible. On the outside it will have a strong presence, be tting a space for worship, but it will not compete with the surroundings and it will not negate the landscape of a Senegalese town.
e design chosen is a symbol of union and encourages people to come together despite despite their culture and it beliefs are. It takes the environment in high esteem, but manages to create new public spaces for the town and intimate spaces for religious purposes.

THE CRACK FOR THE MEETING
Final thesis project
Here is an extract of my nal thesis project where I proposed to create a new emblematic building to revive an abandoned zone next to a motorway. e new building is a multifaith center, which tries to reach out to the dialogue between the three monotheistic religions that are born around the e Mediterranean.

Because of the complexity of the subject and the urban context, next to the motorway and in face of a bullring, which is already a symbolic building, I would appreciate the opportunity to share this project with you directly to show you a bit more about my design process and my passion for this profession.

e tower of hope was the end of a journey for people lost in the life without direction. ey have forgotten who they are and which was their place in the world. ey have abandoned them dreams to ful ll the dreams of others. e tower was a metaphor that turns up for the castaway of life.
As in a mirage, the perception deceives us and looking at it front, One would swear to be levitating, crossing the sky with his boat. On approaching, a largely mirrored arches hold the structure. A large vault welcomes us, as a large lobby that welcomes the pilgrim from all directions. In its center hangs a rope, without touching the water.

As we ascend, we feel we leave behind all that torments us.We went through a transition, which costs us much toil and dedication. But little by little we approached the light until we conquered the sky. Looking at the oculo is almost to looking into the abyss. And when we are there up, a little closer to the sky, we think of the way we have traveled to get here, what we can achieve, what inspires us, what moves us, what we want to be, where we want to go. We stopped being lost
