BEAUVOIR SUMMER Beauvoir Summer offers camp programs for children ages 3 to 11 years old over the course of seven weeks. Exciting activities include field trips, swimming lessons, outdoor adventure programs and specialty camps.
SUMMER FUN Located on the grounds of the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., Beauvoir Summer strives to create an inviting, collaborative and warm community for campers during the summer months. Summer at Beauvoir is about play, discovery, exploration, friends and fun.
FIREFLIES The Fireflies program is designed to provide rising Pre-Kindergarten campers, ages 3 and 4, with a half or full day of activities. With emphasis on social and emotional growth, Fireflies are encouraged to explore at camp in a safe and nurturing environment.
BLUE JAYS The Blue Jays program is designed for rising Kindergarten campers who are looking for a summer full of adventure. With emphasis on discovery and outdoor play, weekly themes are explored through arts and crafts, music, cooking, stories and games. Blue Jays also enjoy daily swim instruction at the Beauvoir Pool.
BOX TURTLES The Box Turtles program is designed for rising 1st grade campers where the focus is to encourage children to be investigators, explorers and collaborative campers. Fullday program highlights include the Box Turtles Clubhouse, our Outward Bound program and half-day specialty camps.
KOALAS The Koalas program is designed for rising 2nd and 3rd grade campers looking to engage in favorite activities while embarking on fun adventures! Full-day program highlights include our Outdoor Explorer program, Global Studies Language camps, Cathedral Studies camp and half-day specialty camps.
BROWN BEARS The Brown Bears program is designed for rising 4th and 5th grade campers and builds on the many choices offered in the Koala program. Week-long programs allow our most mature campers to try all sorts of themed activities. Program highlights include the Outdoor Adventures campout, Capital Culture city-wide excursions and swimming in the Beauvoir Pool.
OUTDOOR PROGRAMS Starting with our Blue Jays age group, our outdoor programs encompass all of the wonders and adventures of the outdoors, with activities like team challenges, nature crafts and hikes, combining the best of a sleep-away camp with all the comforts of a day camp! Campers are challenged with fun and exciting age-appropriate activities that will allow campers to develop confidence and lifelong skills while forming new friendships and having plenty of time outdoors.
SPECIALTY PROGRAMS Through our specialty camp options, campers of all ages are able to try out fun and engaging activities that include robotics, sports, coding, swimming and water play, art camps, cooking, dance camps and more!
SWIMMING AT CAMP Beauvoir campers of all ages have the opportunity to enhance their swimming skills through group instruction. Grouped by skill, campers learn a variety of swim techniques, practice water-safety skills and play fun water games.
BEFORE & AFTER CARE The After Beauvoir Center (ABC) offers extended day services to camp families. The principal goal of ABC is to provide a safe, stimulating and relaxed environment for Beauvoir Summer camp children whose parents regularly require childcare services before and after the camp day.
COUNSELORSIN-TRAINING The Beauvoir CIT Experience combines teamwork, reflection, questions and action in the program designed for rising 6th through 12th graders. Beauvoir Summer CITs gain hands-on experience in the classroom, while learning about responsibility and leadership.
