JODIE FISHER RN In 2018, Jodie Fisher embarked on a courageous journey by leaving her 20year nursing career in a hospital and launching a cosmetic injectable skin and beauty clinic. Initially, she rented rooms twice a week at various salons to kickstart her new venture. Building a loyal clientele base took a year of dedicated effort. In the early stages, the clinic primarily offered services such as cosmetic injectables, skin needling, facials, lash treatments, and waxing. Despite the limited range of services, the clinic managed to achieve a remarkable turnover of $300k within the first 12 months. Listening attentively to clients' questions and concerns during this period, Jodie recognized the need to introduce an energy-based device to address pigmentation issues and other concerns effectively. She then successfully integrated this new treatment modality into her aesthetic clinic. This strategic move not only bolstered the clinic's credibility but also doubled its revenue in the following year, making it a trusted destination for cosmetic skin and beauty treatments. ASHA DAKIN EEN & Dermal Therapist Asha Dakin has always aspired to become a nurse and pursue a career as a cosmetic nurse injector. Her journey began with the pursuit of a diploma in beauty immediately after high school. In the subsequent year, she furthered her education by completing a diploma in nursing, which led her to become an Enrolled Endorsed Nurse (EEN). VIVIEN GARDINER Managing Director, Jan Marini Australia Vivien is a public hospital-trained registered nurse with many years of experience in operating theatre management, surgical assisting and managing a plastic surgical practice. Vivien is the Managing Director of Erase Aesthetic Services, a successful medical aesthetic clinic in Melbourne. Erase Clinic was founded in 1997 and was the first retail clinic of its type in Australia. Vivien is also Managing Director of JMSR Australia, an Australian distributors for Jan Marini Skin Research for over 20 years. DR DONNA LEE MARÇAL Learning Development Manager, Dermalogica PRO Donna, originally from Canada, is a specialist doctor in human Biochemistry from The University of Ottawa. Dr Donna Marçal is specialised in inflammation and how the body reacts to foreign materials. Her work has been published in numerous highly respected biomedical industry journals around the world. She has been awarded several international research fellowships for her work including The Prime Minister’s Science Award from Australia, which facilitated her to continue the award-winning research program here in Australia. Her work on specific human proteins and their functions in human inflammation awarded her an Endeavour Research Fellowship from the Australian Government. She has also worked with The Australian Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (Brisbane, QLD) on high-profile projects. Dr Marçal then switched her focus to continue her work on macrophagemediated inflammation in the area of Atherosclerosis with the Macrophage Biology Group at UNSW in Sydney. She continued her work in inflammation, cholesterol transport and cell signalling in macrophages before launching and becoming the driving force behind Dermatonics®.
