Spots Danshari Danshari is a new type of lifestyle.

Danshari is a concept from Japan. The word Danshari is comprised of three different kanji, in particular "refusal", "disposal" and "separation".

Essentially, Danshari is a concept, which represents a way of life or an attitude towards life. "Refusal" means refusing unnecessary things, "disposal" stands for disposing of excessive things and "separation" is the cutting or or removal of all unnecessary things. There are even some people talking about "interpersonal relationship Danshari". They cut off all unnecessary social life and leave those "poision" relationships behind." In short, the concept of Danshari encapsulates the notion that owning nothing is sometimes better than owning something.

Should we not adopt the concept of Danshari for our precious and delicate skin? Daily dirt, aging lines and sports form due to a many reasons, but is that what you want? Freckles, age spots, melasma and solar lentigo, do you not want to get rid of them all?

但是，只有蜂巢鏡可為每小束針狀激光產生平 均的能量，而微透鏡是做不到的。

T：皮秒激光在醫學美容界別而言，是一個擁有 最短脈衝時間的激光系統，主要用作解決色斑 問題。較短的脈衝時間可讓足夠能量更快地傳 達至皮膚更深層，同時卻不會破壞皮膚表層。

B：PicoWay這部皮秒激光儀器的原理是怎樣 的？有什麼特點？

B：皮秒激光的「脈衝時間」與「波長」之間 有什麼關係嗎？何者較重要？ T：皮秒激光的「脈衝時間」與「波長」同樣 重要。短脈衝時間介乎10-12秒，就可被定義為 皮秒激光(ps)。脈衝時間非常短，令接觸皮膚 的能量亦降至最低，能量亦並未有加熱組織。 高強度的能量會錘擊組織內的色斑，稱為「光 機械效應」。 至於皮秒激光的波長，則決定激光能量可以到 達皮膚的深度。較短的波長，如532nm波長， 就最好用來處理表層色斑。而較長的波長，即 1064nm就針對皮膚組織深層的色斑。

B：坊間很多皮秒療程都聲稱配有「蜂巢鏡」， 到底什麼是蜂巢鏡？有什麼作用？ T：市場上的蜂巢鏡或微透鏡可將一整束激光 分段並轉化為細小的針狀激光。當這些轉化了 的激光到達一個焦點，能量會變得極高，焦點 上的皮膚組織會氣化。這就是「激光誘導光學 分解(LIOB)」，會造成細小的傷口，從而激發 自身的自然修復機制，刺激膠原蛋白再生，緊 緻毛孔，令皮膚再生。

T：PicoWay有助減少色素沉澱與紋身色素， 也可幫助皮膚再生。 PicoWay的高能量峰值令它更有效和更安 全，450皮秒(ps)脈衝產生的光機械效應，比 其他低能量脈衝皮秒激光多4.5倍。PicoWay 用1064nm與532nm波長去針對深層與表層色 素沉澱。它也有效針對黑、藍、紅色的紋身色 素。新增的785nm波長更可有效針對較淺色的 紋身色素，如淺綠與淺藍。 PicoWay的Resolve探頭使用蜂巢鏡，並且得到 美國食品藥物管理局(FDA)臨床實證可使皮膚 再生。不少其他皮秒激光療程使用的蜂巢鏡其 實是沒有FDA認可的。

B: Hi Timothy, everyone is now talking about “picosecond laser”, so what actually is "picosecond laser"?

T: Picosecond laser in the field of medical aesthetics is a laser system with the shortest pulse duration mainly for resolving pigmentation problems. Shorter pulse duration allows us to deliver enough energy very quickly into deeper layer of our skin without damaging the surface layer of our skin.

B: Is there any relation between the pulse duration and wavelength of picosecond laser? Which one is more important, pulse duration or wavelength?

T: Both pulse duration and wavelength of picosecond laser are equally as important. Short pulse duration at range of 10−12 second defines the laser as picosecond laser (ps). The pulse duration is so short that the energy which comes into contact with the skin's surface is reduced to the minimum. Further, such energy does not act through heating up the tissue but instead, the strong energy delivered behaves as acoustic energy hammering the pigmentation into our tissue. This is called the photo-mechanical effect.

As for the wavelength of picosecond laser, it defines the depth of how far the laser energy can penetrate into the skin. Shorter wavelength such as 532nm is best for superficial pigmentation while longer wavelength 1064nm could target pigmentation in the deeper layer of our skin tissue.

B: There are a lot of picosecond laser treatments in the market claiming that they are using “holographic lens”, so what is a “holographic lens”? What is the function of this lens?

T: Holographic lens or micro-lens in the market can fractionate and convert a full laser light beam into fine needles of laser light. When these converted laser light travel to a focal point, the energy is so high that the skin tissues at the focal point would be evaporated. This is called laser induced optical breakdown (LIOB), which causes tiny injury that would trigger our natural body repair mechanism leading to skin rejuvenation - stimulated growth of collagen and pores tightening.

However, only holographic can generate even energy for each laser light needle while microlens does not.

B: What is the working principle of the PicoWay picosecond device? What are its features?

T: PicoWay can help to reduce pigmentation and tattoo ink, as well as providing a solution for skin rejuvenation.

The high peak power of PicoWay brings greater efficacy and safety. Its 450ps pulse delivers 4.5 times more photo-mechanical effect than the lower energy pulse of other picosecond lasers.

PicoWay employs 1064nm and 532nm for targeting deep and superficial pigmentation. It is also effective removing black, blue, red tattoo ink. New additional 785nm wavelength could also effectively target lighter tattoo ink such as light green and light blue.

PicoWay Resolve mode with holographic lens is clinically proven ( FDA approved ) for skin rejuvenation by stimulating collagen generation and wound healing effect. The result is skin tightening and pore refinement.

Some of these devices originate from the U.S. while others claim to be the newest and hottest one from Korea. It is therefore understandable for many customers to feel worried and skeptical. In most cases, the only reassurance or explanation about these devices comes from the persuasive but sometimes misleading words of beauty salons and aesthetic medical centres. Hence, BeauTech will explain the working principles behind the many different aesthetic medical devices from a technological standpoint.

In this very first issue of Beaugazine, we would like to introduce the aesthetic medical device known as Bellasonic. This is a brand new device in Hong Kong which provides needle-free infusion treatment yet ensuring that the treatment efficacy is comparable to that of an invasive infusion treatment. 問: Bellasonic？為何好像從來沒有在香港見過 這款儀器？可以簡介一下嗎？ Q: What is Bellasonic? It seems it has never appeared in Hong Kong before! Can you tell us more about Bellasonic and its main functions? 答: B e l l a s o n i c 是 最 新 進 軍 香 港 的 儀 器 ， 而 BEAUSKIN Medical就是全香港首間引入Bellasonic 的醫學美容中心，現在於BEAUSKIN就可以做到 Bellasonic的療程了。就住在香港的人經常接觸 紫外線、污染物，加上日常面對的壓力，會削 弱皮膚細胞自身的自然防禦系統。Bellasonic代 表的是一個美學的全新潮流，它使用了以下兩 項技術： 1.雙聲頻—使用超聲波的機械力量去刺激細胞， 使它再生。 2.推輓技術—探頭可於皮膚表面引發「空穴效 應」，於表皮造成細小開口，同時會造成正 負壓力，為塗於皮膚表面的物質製造鎚擊般 的導入功效。 A: Bellasonic is one of the latest aesthetic medical devices to have entered Hong Kong, having been imported by BEAUSKIN Medical to be used in its aesthetic medical centres. As those living in Hong Kong would know, there is a high risk of exposure to harmful UV lights, air pollution and stress, all of which decreases our skin's natural defence system. Bellasonic represents a new trend in aesthetic treatments by utilising the following two technologies: 1. Dualsound - where the mechanical force of ultrasound is used to stimulate and regenerate the cells.

2. Push-Pull - where the handpiece is able to induce the micro cavitation on the surface of the skin. It creates “tiny openings in epidermis” as well as positive and negative pressures. It is also responsible for “hammer like” delivery of any topical into the skin.

What does that mean? 答: 人類皮膚老化與皮膚受到的破壞增多，以及 自然防禦減弱有關。Bellasonic的專利科技可於細 胞內與表皮上形成「空穴效應」的「氣泡」。由 於壓力的變換，「氣泡」會擺動與振盪，引致 以下的臨床轉變： 1. 令細胞自然膨脹，體積增大 2. 激活細胞新陳代謝與氧合 3. 加速排毒過程，帶走皮膚中的廢物 這個一系列的動作會啟動和刺激細胞，亦即是 我們說的「喚醒」它們。 A: Ageing of the human skin is associated with and caused by the destruction of skin cells caused by harmful environmental factors. In turn, this lowers and reduces our skin's natural defence. Bellasonic, thanks to its proprietary technology, is able to create microcavitation zone "bubbles" inside the cells and on the surface of the epidermis. Due to this change in pressure, the "bubbles" will oscillate and vibrate, causing certain clinical changes to the skin, notably: 1.improving natural turgor of the cell as well as its volume; 2.stimulating the cell metabolism and oxygenation; and 3.accelerating detoxification by remove waste from the skin.

This dynamic action helps to activate and stimulate the skin cells, and is therefore "waking them up".

問: Bellasonic聲稱是一個「雙效/雙動能」儀器，「雙效/雙動能」又是何解？ Q: Bellasonic is a “dual dynamic” device. What does “dual dynamic” mean? 答: Bellasonic在使用雙聲頻模式時，用上2個不同的超聲波頻率：3.3與10Mhz，連續 並同步釋出。連續釋出時，會導致細胞內部與細胞外基質的壓力轉變，空穴亦會變 小，氣體會開始振盪，組織內也會產生動態性的轉變。 A: Bellasonic on the dualsound mode is using 2 different ultrasound frequencies: 3.3 and 10Mhz on the sequential and simultaneous emission. The sequential use is causing a change of pressures inside the cell and extracellular matrix, which is responsible for the change of size of entrapped internal gas zones (cavities). The gasses start to oscillate causing dynamic changes inside the tissue.

問: 人人都想皮膚更緊緻，但Bellasonic竟說是有鬆弛皮膚的功效？這是怎麼回事？ Q: Everyone would like to have their skin tightened. But Bellasonic is providing a skin loosening effect? Why is that? 答: 我們指的「鬆弛」是表皮層的鬆弛：低頻的超聲波會在皮膚表面造成一個微細的 入口，讓導入物得以滲透，在皮膚表面產生「空穴效應」，功效可比微針。透過刺 激糖胺聚糖，Bellasonic有緊緻皮膚的功效。 A: We are talking about the loosening of the epidermis by creating microcavities on the surface of the skin. The pressure of low frequency ultrasound collapses towards skin and creates micro entry points, which are comparable to nanoneedles. Bellasonic also provides a tightening effect by stimulating GAGs (Glycosaminoglycan).

近日經紅隧過海，都見到大大塊廣告 牌，上面有個美女，以為是哪個明星 賣什麼廣告。仔細一看（要知道過紅 隧有很多時間慢慢細看），原來是一 間醫美中心創辦人自己做生招牌賣廣 告。廣告牌上面除了她本人，只有一 句「只有您，才可以決定未來」，沒 有大堆頭明星，也沒有刻意賣弄的身 體曲線。 這間醫美中心，擺明sell concept。 機緣巧合，又竟然得到訪問機會，還 要登在她公司的季刊。好，看看什麼 葫蘆賣什麼藥！受人所託，訪問會不 會寫到很hard sell？ 也許不會，因為BEAUSKIN賣的，就 是「絕不硬銷」。

Recently, every time I pass the Cross Harbour Tunnel, I see a large billboard with a beautiful lady on it. I have always assumed that she was a celebrity in the showbiz but when I looked carefully (as you know there is a lot of time to look carefully when waiting to cross the Cross Harbour Tunnel), I realised that she is the founder of an aesthetic medical centre and was acting as the spokesperson herself. Apart from her portrait on the billboard, there was also a slogan which read: "the future is at your command". There were no fancy portraits of celebrities or revealing and seductive body parts to draw attention.

Concept. It is what this aesthetic medical centre promotes.

Coincidentally, I got the chance to interview this lady and the interview will be published on her company's quarterly magazine. Alright, let's see if there are any hidden agendas or secrets behind the "conceptual slogan"!

Can this interview be considered hard-sell as I have been entrusted by the company to conduct it? Perhaps not, because what BEAUSKIN sells is "NO hard-sell".

絕 不 硬 銷 說自己做醫美，很多聽者會浮想聯翩， 一個個美容女哄騙毒男買療程package 的故事仿如「有聲post」般在腦海不斷 loop。方潔盈Jathy開的這間BEAUSKIN 卻如醫美界的一股清流，竟然打正旗號說 自己「絕不硬銷」。 不sell多點package，如何做到利益極大 化？事實證明我想太多，不硬銷，不代 表生意不興隆。2014年 BEAUSKIN第一 間醫學美容中心開幕，短短4年，今年9 月份已經開到第5間。「今年還會多開2 間，一間在銅鑼灣，還有一間在沙田。」 版圖即將擴展至新界，雄心壯志。動作， 也追得上。

NO HARD SELL When somebody says that he/she works in the aesthetic medical industry, people may categorize them as pretty saleslady fraudsters who scam unsuspecting single geeks into buying treatment packages.

That is the stereotype that exists.

However, BEAUSKIN, which was founded

by Ms. Jathy Fong, is a breath of fresh air as it breaks the stereotype by promoting "no hard-sell".

So how then can an aesthtic medical company maximise its benefits without selling the most treatment packages?

The fact is, I worried too much. The fact that BEAUSKIN does not "hard-sell" does not mean that it lacks direction or that its business is not doing well. BEAUSKIN opened its first centre in 2014 and since then it has opened up another 4 medical centres in just 4 years. "There will be another 2 stores opening this year, one in Causeway Bay and another in Shatin."

There are even talks that the business will be expanding to the New Territories. What Jathy has is ambition and she definitely has the action to back it up.

小 姐 妳 幾 歲？ 研究Jathy過往的訪問，以及BEAUSKIN 以往的宣傳資料，她都是以一個創辦人加 CEO的身份出現。這位小姐看上去其實也 頗為年青，這個醫美集團，是否由她親自 打理？還是其實只是其中一個投資者，人 長得漂亮，所以被推出來當生招牌？ 結果又是我想得太多。正式以BEAUSKIN 牌頭開醫美中心前一年，原來Jathy搞的 是一間診所 — 真的是看傷風感冒，BB 肚痾嘔奶消化不良的那種診所。時為 2013年，與一位醫生合作，就開了間診 所出來。 診所開張不夠半年，因為抵受不住日日有 人進來問是否有醫美療程做（因為裝修 太「骨子」），本來就愛美的Jathy就真 的去買了一部歐洲名廠Fotona的激光儀 器，還真的去接受原廠培訓，有認可資格 幫人「打斑」。 一部機68萬。」一個年輕女子執掌整個 醫美集團，我沒有懷疑過Jathy是沒有家 底的人。可是，再次，我想太多。「我以 前只是住劏房。小時候，家裡窮，所以自 少已經想賺多點錢，改善生活。」68萬最 後如何解決？「上會（供）啊。」 2013年，Jathy 二十七歲。

MAY I KNOW YOUR AGE? Looking at Jathy's media interviews and BEAUSKIN's promotion materials, she has always appeared as the founder & CEO. However, this lady looks very young which makes many wonder whether this aesthetic medical centre is really managed by her or is she only one of the investors?

It turns out that I thought too much again.

Before BEAUSKIN officially became an aesthetic medical centre, what Jathy first started was a clinic, one which catered to cold, flu and pediatric problems. That was in 2013 when she partnered with a doctor.

However, during the first half year of the operation of the clinic, people came in everyday asking if the clinic provided any aesthetic medical treatments (all because of the decent decor which set it apart from a regular clinic). Due to the overwhelming inquiries, Jathy decided to purchase a Fotona laser device. She even went to the original manufacturer's training to get the official qualification so that she could perform the Fotona laser treatment for the clinic's clients.

"680 thousand dollars for one device." I had no doubt that this young lady had a good financial background from the very beginning. However, I was wrong again. "I was living in a sub-divided flat. When I was young, my family was poor. So I had been finding ways to earn more money in order to improve my quality of life.“ How was the 680 thousand settled then? "Installment plan."

That was 2013 and Jathy was only 27 years old.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING CALLED SUCCESS 沒 有 成 功 這 回 事 二十七歲已做CEO，那之前Jathy是做 什麼的？愛美的她可能也是做美容行 業吧？想不到，再度誤判。「以前做 PR（公關行業）、marketing（市場 推廣）。還創過兩次業，也是公關及市 場推廣相關的。」所以二十七歲已是第 3次創業？問她BEAUSKIN是否最成功 的一次創業，她豪氣干雲：「沒有成功 這回事的！什麼叫成功？永遠都還有更 好！」霸氣與謙虛，原來可以並存。

Jathy was already a CEO at the age of 27, but what did she do prior to that? I thought to myself that she might have also worked in the beauty industry. Again, I was wrong. "I was in public relations (PR) and marketing fields.

I also started two businesses before, which were also related to PR and marketing." So it was a third attempt at starting a business at age 27? Was BEAUSKIN the most successful attempt? "There is no such thing called success! How do you define success? There is always room for improvement!" Spoken like a boss but also humble.

"If I really have to say why BEAUSKIN is running okay, I will have to say that it is because I have grown older and learnt to be persistent when I do things.

當今日香港人人呻壓力大，作為CEO的 Jathy，今年預計BEAUSKIN開到第7分 店，壓力應該不少。壓力大，皮膚怎 樣keep？

Everyone claims to be stressed in Hong Kong but as a CEO who is about to open the 8th BEAUSKIN store this year, surely Jathy is under a lot of stress. How can she keep her skin beautiful with such high levels of stress?

我沒有壓力。這是我天生的特質。我 可以晚上只睡3、4個小時，還是很有 精力去做工作上的事，因為這就是我的 興趣。我不會覺得因為工作而少了時間 逛街就很慘，我不逛街的，我的衣服都 是網購回來。也不會覺得因為工作，而 少了時間與酒肉朋友講別人是非是好 慘，因為我本來就不愛這些活動。」 成功的人，都有一些超乎常人的生活 方式。

"I do not feel stressed. I was born like this. I can sleep for only 3 to 4 hours at night but still be very energetic to do work, because working is my interest. Even though I may not have the time to shop or gossip with my girlfriends, I do not feel sad. I simply am not interested in those activities." Successful people usually lead an extraordinary lifestyle.

一切由貪靚開始 原本開間小診所，最後搞了個醫 美集團出來。雖說誤打誤撞，其 實也有跡可循。 我少年時代已經超級貪靚。中 二那年，我已經每日用百特叔叔 漿糊筆把眼皮黏成雙眼皮。那時 已經很想要雙眼皮，所以也會留 意一些整容的東西。我記得以前 有線電視有一個節目，請了不同 的整容外科醫生，有醫生講怎麼 弄雙眼皮；又講如何掀起一層皮 去削骨：拿起螺絲批跟鎚子打在 骨上。看完之後，我發現原來是 可以這樣做的！我不用削骨，但 我想做雙眼皮！」 那年十八，自己上網查醫生的電 話，打去查詢，原來要五位數字 的費用。那時候我覺得：這樣簡 單的事也要過萬元？「結果就沒 有弄，所以一直也是自己黏。雙 眼皮到我真的進了醫美行業，我 才弄。但真的是很貪靚，年紀小 時候已經有做facial的習慣，針 清、『傳統針清』、『突破性針 清』的什麼也試過。還 試 過 一 次做彩光，被收了3萬多元，後 來我發現那部儀器也不過值3萬 多元。」 貪靚，原來因為同學的一句說 話。「就是中二、十四歲那年， 有個雙眼皮的同學，她笑我：『 為什麼妳單眼皮的？』沒有她， 我可能沒有今日。」

除卻單眼皮這個所謂的「缺點」 ， 當年的Jathy，樣貌到底如何？ 不漂亮！整臉也是暗瘡，又 多油！」

THE PURSUIT OF BEAUTY Having intended to open a simple clinic in the first place, the clinic became a large aesthetic medical group. One can say that this was pure luck or coincidence. However, it turns out that there is a reason behind all of this.

"I cared so much about my appearance when I was young.

When I was in Form 2 of secondary school, I already used Pritt glue to stick up my eyelids so that I would have double-eyelids. Ever since then, I had wanted doubleeyelids and would pay attention to things about cosmetic surgery.

I remember there was a TV show on Cable TV which invited many different cosmetic surgeons to talk about different cosmetic surgeries. They talked about how double eye-lids can be created through surgery and how bone reduction is performed. After their explanation that bone reduction is done through hitting the bones with screwdrivers and hammers; it was truly eye-opening. However, I did not need bone reduction but I wanted double-eyelids!"

At that time, Jathy was 18 years old.

She searched for some cosmetic surgeons on the Internet and asked for a fee quotation. "It is

over $10,000 for the surgery! I thought that it was too expensive for such a simple thing, so I did not have the surgery at the time. I went back to sticking up my eyelids with the glue until I finally got the surgery done after I entered the aesthetic medical industry. I really cared about my appearance a lot so I had been doing many facials, extractions, 'traditional extractions' and 'revolutionary extractions', just to name a few. I remember there was one time when I had an intense pulsed treatment whereby the salon charged me $30,000. I later discovered that the device itself only costed $30,000.

The reason why she cared so much about her appearance was because of a few simple words from her old classmate. "I was in Form 2, only 14 years old. I had a classmate who had double-eyelids. She teased me and asked, 'why are you singleeyelided?' Without her, I may not be what I am today." Apart from her single-eyelids, how did Jathy look like at that time? "Not pretty at all!

Still, today's Jathy would get acne on her face at times, but she is not afraid to let the public know. It is not realistic to be too perfect. In a random morning when she discovers acne on her face, she would run back to the company and start a Facebook Live - a video recording of the whole process of doing laser treatment.

FAT OR SWELL?

「營養師，我覺得自己太肥了！」 這句是很多女士來諮詢營養師說的第一句說話。這個時侯，我的首 要工作便是要了解這種肥是甚麼肥。我希望借今次機會跟大家分享 一下我經常會遇到的兩種肥 : 真肥和假肥。

“Mr Dietitian, I think I am too Fat!” This is the first sentence that many ladies said to me when they first saw me. Usually, what I do next is to figure out what “fat” it is. I hope to take this chance to share the two kinds of “fat” that I always encounter: “real” fat and “fake” fat.

肥 Real

真肥是體重過高或者體脂過多。一般來 講，當身體質量指數(BMI)高於22.9kg/m2， 便可歸類為過重。但是，BMI只考慮身 高及體重。所以，兩個BMI一樣的人， 體型可以不同的。具體一點，身型健碩 和身型肥胖的人身體，BMI都可以超過 22.9kg/m2的。BMI的弱點在於沒有考慮 體脂。由此可見，參考體脂可以更加肯 定一個人是不是真肥。以亞洲人來說， 男性體脂應為14-23%；而女性體脂應為 17-27%。

真肥怎麼辦呢？ 體重管理必需考慮兩件事情：分別是熱 量攝取（從食物和飲品）及熱量消耗（新 陳代謝和活動）。減重的話必須要熱量攝 取少於熱量消耗。要達至負熱量攝取， 可以透過控制飲食和提高新陳代謝及活 動。然而，過份節食有機會令新陳代謝 減慢，變相更難控制體重。所以，有控 制體重需要的話，可以諮詢專業人士的 意見。

Fat Real fat means having excessive weight or too much body fat. Normally, when one’s Body Mass Index (BMI) is higher than 22.9 kg/m2, one can be categorized as overweight. However, BMI only considers height and weight. Therefore, two people with the same BMI can have different physiques. To be concrete, a well built person and a fat person may both have a BMI over 22.9 kg/m2 . The weakness of BMI is that it disregards body fat. Thus, we can confirm if one is really fat by looking at one’s body fat. For Asians, body fat of an average male should be around 14-23% while the body fat of an average female should be around 17-27%.

What can we do if I am in the “real fat” category?

There are two things that you must consider when doing weight management: food energy intake (from food and drinks) and energy consumption (metabolism and physical activity). If you want to lose weight, your food energy intake has to be less than your energy consumption.

To achieve negative energy intake, you can control your food intake and boost your metabolism and activity level.

However, excessive dieting may slow down metabolism, which renders it more difficult to control your body weight. Therefore, if you have the need to control body weight, you may seek professional advice.

F ake F at : Swelling 其實是水腫 水腫的原因可以有很多，不過從營養學角 度，最常見的成因是體內的鈉、鉀離子不平 衡。在日常飲食中，我們主要從醃製食物、 加工類食物或者重口味醬汁攝取鈉。如果 體內鈉離子過高，就會把水保留體內，形成 水腫，因此選擇的食品應盡量避免過多的醬 汁，解決擾人的水腫問題。

水腫怎麼辦呢？ 水腫主要有兩個處理方式： 1. 減少鹽份吸收，降低鈉的攝取 最簡單的做法是少吃加工、醃製、罐頭、零 食類食品，改吃新鮮的肉類及少鹽的小食。 2. 提高鉀質的攝取，幫助身體排出多餘鈉質 包括適量攝取乳製品和飲用薏仁水或紅豆 水；進食蔬果，特別是含豐富鉀質的， 例如：薯仔、蕃薯、蕃茄、西梅乾和香蕉 等。以上都能提高攝取鉀質，幫助排出體 內多餘鈉質。

如何測試自己是真肥還是假肥？ 希望初步測試自己是真肥還是假肥，大家可以 計算自己的BMI，看看有沒有超過22.9kg/m2。 另外，也可以用有測量體脂功能的電子磅測 試自己的體脂，如果男士體脂高於23%；女士 體脂高於27%則大概可以界定為過肥。 梁肇津 註冊營養師（澳洲）

Fake Fat: Swelling There are a lot of reasons for swelling but from a nutritional standpoint the most common reason is the imbalance of sodium and potassium ion within our bodies. In our diet, we mainly take sodium from preserved and processed foods and strong-flavoured sauces. If the sodium level in our bodies get too high, water will be retained in our bodies which causes swelling. Therefore, we should avoid foods that contain excessive sodium such as sauces in order to solve the disturbing swelling problem.

What should I do if my body swells?

There are two main solutions for swelling: 1. Cut down on salt. Lower sodium intake.

The simplest way is to eat less processed, preserved, canned food and snacks. Instead, have fresh meat and low-salt snacks.

2.

Raise potassium intake. Help body discharge excessive sodium.

Take moderate amount of dairy products, drink pearl barley water or red bean water. Eat vegetables, especially those containing rich potassium, such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, dried plums (prunes), bananas, etc. All these help increase the intake of potassium and help discharge excessive sodium.

A Test: Fat or Swell?

If you want to test whether you are fat or just swelling, you can find out your BMI and see if it’s over 22.9 kg/m2 . Besides, you may use a digital scale which has body fat measuring function to get the number. If a man’s body fat is over 23%, or a woman’s body fat is over 27%, he or she can be classified as having excessive amount of body fat.

很多人也會忽略去斑療程後的護理。不少病人會期望進來醫學 美容中心做個療程之後，就能自信滿滿的走出門口。但是，在 家中的療程後護理也是非常重要的。

Q: How can I prevent the return of spots after spot-removal treatment?

The importance of post-treatment care is often neglected among patients receiving cosmetic treatment. Patients coming in for cosmetic treatments often expect to walk out from our centre with immediate confidence and satisfaction. However, the posttreatment care at home is just as crucial.

Asians (skin of colour), when dealing with abnormalities associated with uneven pigmentation often use laser therapy, topical medication, or oral medication - alone or in combination. Nonetheless, using sunblock after treatment is as important as the treatment itself. Poor sunblock technique may increase melanocyte activity resulting in more deposition of melanin. Besides, our healing skin may receive unnecessary light stimulation leading to a more severe inflammatory response. It was a few days before the Dragon Boat Festival and the team gave festive rice dumplings and many other gifts to the elderlies.
