Firefighters Save School

By Susie Cunningham Beaudesert’s McAuley College is praising local firefighters, including their own groundsman and his family, for saving the school from complete devastation in an alleged arson.

Students were able to return to school the day after the fire, which police say was deliberately lit in the early hours of Sunday 8 May and caused significant damage.

Police charged a 42-yearold Beaudesert man with arson on 9 May. His case was mentioned in Beenleigh Magistrates Court that same day and he was remanded in custody at time of print, to face court again on 17 May. McAuley rises after suspicious fire: story page 5

PERSONALITY PROFILE – GEOFF COOK

Geoff Cook loves animals and has a soft spot for birds.

By Susie Cunningham You’d be hard-pressed to find Geoff Cook saying anything bad about animals, even the cheeky bandicoots who get into his veggie patch.

The 72-year-old Kooralbyn retiree has 28 homing pigeons and first had pigeons when he was four years old in South Australia.

sometimes shares their special birds in white dove releases at weddings, and they always find their way home.

Geoff and Karen’s little slice of Kooralbyn paradise, which they share with Karen’s almost 92-year-old dad Max and a menagerie of creatures big and small, is their happy place.

There’s Chase and Taffy the Appaloosa horses, Koby and Kally the blue heeler cross Catahoula leopard dogs, Clover the Burmese cat, five hens, a rooster and the pigeons.

There are microbats roosting under the house, pesky but cute bandicoots in the garden, and Geoff has built a box for a barn owl to keep the rodents under control.

Geoff got into horses when he was nearly 40 to impress Karen.

Getting married to Karen - a 1996 backyard ceremony complete with horses neighing and geese honking - is the best thing Geoff did, along with becoming a dad.

Geoff and Karen went on to run the trail riding attraction at Thunderbird Park while living on Tamborine Mountain and in Tamborine Village for 14 years.

What seems like a lifetime ago, Geoff did his printing apprenticeship.

He started at what was then the Stock Journal Publishers in Adelaide, primarily printing farming magazines as a letterpress printer.

On and off, his print career spanned five decades from 1965 to 2004, interspersed with stints delivering bread

and doing a milk run, and finished up with a gig printing wine labels.

“Things change so much - when I started it was hands on, monotype, single letters, and when I finished, you’d push a button,” he said.

“I finally got sick of it, saw the trail riding advertised in Queensland and said to Karen, ‘that’s it, let’s go’.”

Geoff loves to watch birds fly freely.

Since retiring to Kooralbyn in 2008, he spends a lot of time pottering around and establishing gardens despite breaking his leg and having both knees replaced.

As he makes his way around the hills and slopes of the property with some pain, he loves to watch the birds soar high above.

“They’re just a beautiful creature, you just watch them fly. We sit on the balcony and watch these birds and they just fly for the joy of it,” he said.

“I’ve always been interested in birds. The diversity, the plumage, their antics. They’re just incredible little creatures.”

Beaudesert 3.5km closer to water grid

By Susie Cunningham A $95m pipeline to connect Beaudesert to the water grid is well underway, with Brookland Road at Gleneagle a hive of activity as crews lay sections of pipe underground.

The 27km South West Pipeline is the second stage of the Beaudesert Water Supply Upgrade and will connect Beaudesert Water Treatment Plant on Helen Street to the Cedar Grove Weir.

Beaudesert will be the biggest addition to the SEQ Water Grid in a decade, and the last off-grid major population area in the South East to be connected to the grid.

On a recent visit to Bromelton Offstream Storage Site and the Brookland Road Worksite, Minister for Water Glenn Butcher was told 3.5km had been installed so far and the pipeline is set to be completed by the end of 2022.

In a 10 May letter to residents from Comdain the company awarded the pipeline contract - project director Damian Barlow said they had completed

their first horizontal directional drill crossing of the Logan River and were preparing for the second at Undullah Road.

Minister Butcher told the Beaudesert Bulletin there were about 100 jobs in the construction phase and government procurement policy dictated preference be given to locals.

The Minister said connecting Beaudesert to the grid would support growth.

“The Scenic Rim is experiencing a period of significant growth, with more than 67,000 people expected to call this community home by 2041,” he said.

“The area has also become a regional hub for large-scale freight and transport operations, thanks to the Bromelton State Development Area.

Connecting Beaudesert to the SEQ Water Grid will shore up local water security.”

Seqwater CEO Neil Brennan said the pipeline would be the biggest addition to the SEQ Water Grid since the Northern Pipeline Interconnector in

“The way the SEQ Water Grid connects drinking water supplies across our region is a unique system in Australia. It provides us with more options to manage water supply challenges arising from sporadic rainfall, drought, climate change and population growth,” he said.

“We are continuing to invest in water infrastructure projects to ensure our

region has a secure and adaptable water supply.”

The first stage of the Beaudesert Water Supply Upgrade was two reservoirs constructed at Beaudesert Water Treatment Plant in 2020 with a combined 5.1 million litre capacity.

The third and final stage of the Beaudesert Water Supply Upgrade will be a new water treatment plant at Cedar Grove

Weir, with water supplied from Wyaralong Dam and the Logan River. The Beaudesert Water Treatment Plant will be decommissioned when the new plant is fully operational.

Minister Butcher told the Bulletin there was not yet a fixed date for delivery of stage 3.

ADF Helping out at Wongaburra

Wongaburra residents and staff had their spirits lifted by ADF personnel assisting at the aged care home.

Ten navy personnel, including three enrolled nurses, were provided to assist staff and residents at Wongaburra Garden Settlement Hostel between 5 - 12 May. A Defence spokesperson said ADF Independent Medical Teams have been tasked to provide rapid relief to Commonwealth aged care facilities impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 10 person IMT includes a team leader, registered and enrolled nurses, and supporting personnel.

Wongaburra Marketing Manager, Robert Campbell said all staff members are required to do a RAT (COVID test) before they start work on every shift.

If a staff member tests positive, they are not able

to start work. If positive, they are offsite for seven days minimum.

Additional staff members are then called in to cover these shifts.

"Having the Navy personnel here just for a week is a really big help and a big boost to morale."

"It's been such a hard time for the residents through COVID with so many restrictions and them missing out on so much. When you get something like this happen that they're not really expecting it is a bit of an added bonus."

The ADF personnel have helped with general care of residents, nursing and social activities, including the Mother's Day function.

ADF personnel helped to bring over 30 residents with varying mobility issues to the Bob Berg Room where the function was held.

They helped to hand out gifts to residents and run activities during the

Many residents are veterans themselves and enjoyed the interaction with currently serving ADF personnel.

"We've had some really good one on ones with veterans and the navy personnel, sharing stories and just hanging out to-

gether," said Robert.

Joy Murch, who has lived at Wongaburra for two years, loved having the ADF personnel at Wongaburra.

"I have enjoyed seeing the armed forces around Wongaburra and enjoyed them playing and helping with indoor bowls," she

said.

"They look very smart in their uniforms.”

The ADF has provided support to 293 Residential Aged Care facilities.

In the course of the response, ADF personnel have been deployed to all states and territories except the ACT.

McAuley Rises After Fire

Spirits remain strong at McAuley College after a suspicious fire at the school on 8 May rocked the community of Beaudesert.

Thanks to the swift work of about 30 emergency services personnel, school resumed on Monday 9 May, the day after the Mother’s Day blaze, as police made quick work of charging a 42-year-old Beaudesert man with arson.

As the smell of smoke lingered at the cordoned-off scene of the alleged crime, the school breathed a sigh of relief that more wasn’t lost.

In testament to the tight-knit community that is Beaudesert the Ducats - a local firefighting family with connections to the school - were able to help

emergency services get in quick.

“Our groundsman Steve Ducat, who is also a fireman, lives nearby.

The family heard the explosions, and Steve’s wife Judy and son Alex helped first responders by assisting with grabbing keys and removing bollards to allow emergency services to drive into the school,” said Principal Deidre Young.

“Alex, one of our Year 11 students, was able to advise emergency services about the nature of the buildings, including that one of them was a science block and the caution about gasses present. I’m very proud of him – he did a great job. Emergency responders were able to stop the fire spreading to other areas of the school. They

both really saved the day, and McAuley College.”

While the full extent of the damage was still being assessed, Mrs Young said because of the quick response, the school was likely to be able to save some learning spaces.

“Our specialty classrooms including hospitality, visual art and information technology and design aren’t operational at the moment – however we’re hoping several of them will be able to be saved,” she said.

“As a community, we are grateful no one was hurt, and lives were not lost. We can replace the material things we have lost. We are hopeful about the future. Our students have been amazing and just really rallied around, despite the inconveniences. They’ve taken it in

Beaudesert Officer in Charge, Senior Sergeant Ken Murray described the alleged arson, which was caught on CCTV, as a ‘senseless act of de-

struction’. He said, while there did not appear to be any direct intent to harm the school, police had increased their patrols of schools and government buildings as a result of the suspicious fire.

Eat Local Week Appetite Strong

Eat Local Week has become an anticipated event on Queensland’s tourism calendar, with Council reporting 2019 Eat Local Week generated $2 million for the regional economy and attracted nearly 40,000 people to the region.

Beaudesert’s local show ambassadors are eyeing off the State Titles after winning the South East Sub Chamber Titles for the second year.

Anna Ferguson (Showgirl) and Sarah MacGinley (Rural Ambassador) were recently crowned South East Sub Chamber Showgirl and Rural Ambassador.

They now have their sights set on competing for the title of Queensland Country Life Miss Showgirl and the Queensland Rural Ambassador Awards at the Ekka in August.

By Susie Cunningham A local dairy farm steeped in tradition and authenticity has taken out the delicious. Harvey Norman Produce Awards state title for the third year running.

the Kerry Valley is the Queensland state finalist in the dairy category of the 2022 awards.

Tommerup’s are Queensland’s only dairy finalist in the awards, which have previously recognised several individual dairy products as state finalists, but this

year shifted focus to highlight the good farming practices behind the award-winning produce.

The tiny farm with a big heart is proving there is room in the market for producers of all sizes to survive and thrive.

Kay said, thanks to the support of conscious consumers, there was no waste on the farm.

“It’s becoming more of a focus with chefs, how they can be part of that whole cycle by taking vealers and therefore allowing us to raise all our calves and not sell any as bobby calves and allowing us to focus on the production of cream products by taking our milk-fed pork which uses the waste product of skim milk,” she said.

Kay and Dave made the bold decision to leave processor Norco on 2 January 2021 after establishing their own Tommerup’s Jersey Girl line of boutique dairy products in 2019.

It was a decision they

did not take lightly, having supplied Norco since 1984, when the company took over the former Logan and Albert Co-Op. Kay said they hoped to encourage others to have confidence in their product and their ability to succeed without a middleman.

She said the award was a win for the Scenic Rim and for conscious consumers everywhere.

“This award means so much because it’s not just recognition of the quality of our product, but also recognises the extra effort that goes into making a clear choice to regenerate our farm for future generations,” she said.

Tommerup’s now proceed to the Produce Awards national judging in Sydney in May, where a panel of Australia’s leading chefs and restaurateurs will judge the 2022 trophy winners.

Hi. My name is Noah Burr. I am in year 10 at McAuley College and I enjoy taking photos. I am currently on work experience at Beaudesert Bulletin and Canungra Times, and I am loving it here. I bought a camera for Christmas and have not stopped taking photos since. I mainly enjoy taking photos of sunsets and nature. I enjoy taking photos because of how every photo is completely unique and different. Photos also make me calm. If I find myself stressed or have something on my mind, I go outside and take a photo of something.

I chose this picture because of the various range of colours combined with the dark clouds. This photo was taken shortly after a big storm we experienced. I have to say, this is one of my favourite photos I have taken, the dominant grey clouds blend well with the orange and blue sky.

Beauy welcomes Norfolk Islanders

By Susie Cunningham Two football-mad teenagers are making themselves at home in Beaudesert on a rugby league scholarship program from Norfolk Island.

Mia Pashley, 14, and Jesse Schmitz, 15, are in Beaudesert for six weeks after touching down on 26 April.

They are the third lot of participants to come here from Norfolk Island since the Beaudesert Kingfishers Rugby League Club got involved, and the first lot since a break during Covid.

Mia and Jesse have been adjusting to the sheer size of Beaudesert compared with home, with the number of stu-

dents at Beaudesert High alone on par with the entire population of Norfolk Island (about 1750 residents).

Back home, they are used to playing games against their own clubmates at Norfolk Island Junior Rugby League Club and there are about 300 students at Norfolk Island Central School, where they both go.

In Beaudesert, they got straight into playing more footy than ever before, with Jesse even training with the Kingies on his first night in Beaudesert after stepping off the plane.

They are both making the most of the school’s rugby league program, the Titans Cup interschool competition and

home and away club games and training sessions.

Jesse said Beaudesert was a complete change of pace.

“It’s just weird seeing people you don’t know and seeing different kids in every class rather than the same ones,” he said.

“There are 24 kids in my grade (year 10) and Mia’s grade (year 9) would have to be about the biggest in the school, with 28 students.”

Mia said she was just looking forward to playing more football during her time in Beaudesert, and Jesse agreed.

“I’m just keen on the club footy and then the school footy tops it off as well. It’s just footy, footy, footy,” he said.

Committee member Caitlyn Hester said the competition aimed to recognise and promote the next generation’s role in the rural workforce and the wider community.

“The Showgirl competition is certainly not a beauty pageant, the women are judged on personality, confidence, ambition and life goals, general knowledge, show knowledge, rural knowledge, presentation and speech,” she said.

“Finalists are also asked to demonstrate knowledge of their local community and current affairs.”

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR 70th Anniversary of Tamrookum Hall To the Tamrookum Hall Committee: I would like to congratulate you all on the wonderful work done to get the hall ready for the 70th anniversary.

There is one person who deserves a special thank you and that lady is Lani Deerain.

Lani was the driving force behind the whole effort and put in a lot of hours, day and night, sometimes until 7pm.

For the hard work in filling out reams of paperwork for grants and to finally get the whole project off the ground Lani merits a well earned pat on the back.

When I walked into the hall that night and crossed the dance floor the memories came flooding back.

I had danced in this

hall for over 60 years but on the night I could only manage a little, but the thrill of being on the dance floor again was enough.

Once again to all the committee members a big thank you.

Being a big country I’d much rather the local member at Charleville bring money from the Federal or State Government so the local Council can work on the road to Adavale, rather than wait for the Federal Road Gang.

Monica, the mother of St Augustine, and Susanna, the mother of John Wesley, have something in common. They are mothers of great men.

They continued to pray

for their children. Saint Augustine and John Wesley were transformed by their mothers’ prayers.

They have done mighty works for the kingdom of God. In the bible, there is Hanna, a great woman of prayer, who touched the heart of God and gave birth to Samuel. Samuel became one of the great leaders who impacted the country of Israel, the godly kingdom.

I am so grateful to my mother for what she has done for me. With her dear love, grace, and support, I was able to succeed in living here in this world.

I pray that mighty God will bless all mothers and their families in Beaudesert.

Amazing New Beaudesert Childcare Centre Officially Opens

Beaudesert’s newest childcare centre has officially opened after floods and COVID-19 postponed the event three times!

Already at 80% capacity after welcoming its first families in late January, the new $5.5 million Amaze Early Education Centre at 202-216 Brooklands Drive is proudly enriching the lives of children through the immersive bushland childcare experience it offers.

Co-founder Lucy Cook says Amaze’s playgrounds are some of the best in the world and one of the key reasons parents and carers chose their centres over others.

“Our vision is to be the best early childhood education provider possible, and we really embed into the commu-

nities we serve,” said Ms Cook.

“Amaze Education appreciates how important it is to immerse ourselves in, and be responsive to our communities and the environment. It is for this reason all our centres look different and offer different experiences for children.”

Ms Cook said she was actively looking for new qualified staff to join her team.

“We have new children starting every week and are currently looking to employ more locals to help with the demand,” she said.

Division 3 Scenic Rim Councillor Virginia West said she is delighted by the new childcare centre and particularly appreciated its prominent inclusion of the Muninjali people in its design.

TULLAMORE FARM We grow some of our produce in 20 litre food grade containers.

We find the containers handy because as you get older, digging up produce can be hard work and the vegetables can damage.

We have grown our turmeric and ginger this way for close to five years. We also grow artichokes and part of our potato crop this way.

Our ginger and turmeric crop is planted out in September and early October.

They are both heavy feeders so we plant them in compost. When planting out we two thirds fill the container and then place two or three pieces depending on size and quality.

Press them gently into the compost with the nodes facing up and cover with a further eight centimetres of compost.

Cover with some sugarcane mulch to help retain moisture.

About six months later the plant will start to die back and you can harvest the turmeric and ginger.

When they are ready to harvest we take them

in their containers, empty them into the compost bin and remove the produce. Very efficient, minimal damage and quick.

We harvest one container at a time and leave the others until they are needed. The other attraction with this method is that when the crop is ready you can leave the turmeric and ginger in the containers and simply reduce the watering and leave in a shady spot until required.

When planting potatoes this way you place about ten centimetres of soil or compost or a mix in the bottom of the food grade container and then place two or three seed potatoes.

Cover with a good layer of topsoil or compost.

As they grow up through the compost you keep mounding them up ensuring you leave some of the green leaves exposed.

When the container is nearly full add a layer of mulch and after a total of about 100 days you have potatoes.

Now is the time to get your potatoes in.

Frank the lamb landed on his feet when he was born into the Davidson family. The four-week-old Awassi cross was born just after the floods and is being hand-raised by Dallas Davidson after his mum sadly didn’t make it.

Frank is right at home at the Davidson’s farm Towri Sheep Cheeses, just near Beaudesert, where there are 300 sheep, a pen of chooks, three cats, two donkeys, two Jack Russells and a kelpie. As one of the youngest animals on the property, Frank has formed a sweet friendship with the oldest animal Smarties, the 23-year-old cat, and the two love to chase each other around. Here’s what Dallas has to say about Frank: “Frank already thinks the garden is his, he thinks the feed area is his personal buffet and he loves cuddles with our guests,” she said.

Thomas Chesworth Burgess was born in 1835 at Lymm, Cheshire, England; he married Jane Gilbert on 14 January 1865 in the Parish of West Derby, Lancaster.

In an 1861 census the family is recorded as Inn Keepers.

Thomas and his brother Henry received an inheritance from their father of £100 (pounds) every three months. On arrival in Queensland Thomas and Jane applied for 160 acres on Christmas Creek, Upper Logan. The Deed of Grant was passed on 6 March 1889. Clearing, stock yards, cultivation and erection of fences and buildings cost £132 / 1 / 9d. The farm was called 'Foxley'.

Eight children were born to Thomas and Jane between 1865 and 1883. One child died aged three months.

Charles Burgess, 32 years, enlisted in 1915. He served in the Gallipoli Expeditionary Force until 1916. He joined the British Expeditionary Force to France and rejoined the second Pioneer

Battalion. He was wounded in action, returned to Australia and discharged on 13 August 1917.

He returned home again with many of the problems that soldiers return with today. Shellshock and undefined physiological trauma, a need for an income, somewhere to live, and most importantly a life that is meaningful. He was without financial support until a newspaper, Smiths Weekly, took up his case and got him the pension he was entitled to.

Mr W Hafemeister of Christmas Creek offered Charlie the use of a cave on his land which Charlie accepted and made his home.

Verney Burgess enlisted in 1916 and was discharged because of family hardship. He re-enlisted on 13 November 1916 and saw service with Australian based units until 1917 when he embarked in Melbourne for Egypt.

Edward Burgess enlisted 23 June 1916 and was killed in Action 15 October 1917.

New Early Education Centre Opening What a warm family feeling it was at the opening of the Amaze Early Education Centre on Brooklands Drive recently.

This new facility has an emphasis on our rural and indigenous heritage with beautiful wooden and rock play areas for the children incorporating a silo, traditional pump device, a yarning circle all overlooked by a Wedgetail Eagle sculpture, the Mununjali totem - Mibunn.

Tennis Turns to Trivia for DV Connect

Beaudesert and District Tennis Club's charity event started as planned, with eight teams from Beaudesert and surrounding townships psyched up for a great night of tennis.

This was the Club's third Charity Shield Event which is an annual tradition.

COVID affected the event in 2020, however in 2019 proceeds went to the Breast Cancer foundation and in 2021 the event supported Beyond Blue for Men's Health.

This year the theme was purple in support of DVConnect and the Club called the event "A Life Without Violence".

Unfortunately, within minutes of play commencing, the heavens opened up and it did not take long for the courts to turn into a swimming pool!

To the Club's credit,

organisers quickly prepared a plan B and prepared "A Life Without Violence" Charity Shield Trivia Event!

Beaudesert Tennis Club Secretary Lauren Griffin said originally there were 10 teams entered, however three teams pulled out close to the event due to COVID illness and injury.

"Luckily Fassifern Tennis were able to put a team together for us at the last minute to make up the eight teams," said Lauren.

"Turns out not only can they play Tennis, but the men from Fassifern also know their Trivia."

The Fassifern team won the trivia and a combined Hillview and Rathdowney team took out the Best Dressed Team.

The 100's board and raffle prizes (generously donated by local businesses and families) were drawn throughout the night.

There was a short presentation at the conclusion of trivia to award the shield to the winners, prizes to the runners-up, wooden racquet, wooden spoons and chocolates to the lucky losers, as well as certificates and pizza vouchers to all participants.

Why Sports Matters at BSHS with

Sport teaches time management & discipline Irrespective of what sport you play, sport teaches you to always get up when you get knocked over. That if you train harder, you play better. If you turned up to every training and you gave it everything you had, people notice and they put you on their team.

While we all want to win, having a focus on attitude and discipline when it comes to choosing the team to take the field matters more. We know that talent scouts on the sidelines want to know what that player is like at school: Do they work hard? Do they turn up every day? They don’t have to be best, but they have to show a good work ethic.

It is exactly the same with employers. They want to know that the person they employ is respectful, responsible and turns up ready to work.

As the state school serving our community we take the time to notice and recognise the people who keep turning up, doing the work and taking responsibility – because we know they will ultimately win at whatever they career path they take.

And when our teams win on the sports fields, we all win because we know what it took to get there!

By Susie Cunningham Local cyclist Charles Boyle is set to ride 500km around Beaudesert to raise money for children with burns as part of the Children’s Hospital Foundation Bike4Burns.

He will start at 10am Saturday, 28 May and ride a 100km loop five times by Sunday.

Charles will follow a variation of the 100km loop cyclists do on the annual Jimboomba Rotary ride, which goes past his house.

Bike4Burns, established in 2007, raises funding for research into the most effective treatments for childhood burns and scar management.

Charles was inspired

to do the ride by a fellow cyclist, who is a firefighter.

“My friend was instrumental in the setup of Bike4Burns, and he does this Gladstone to Brisbane ride every year 750km over seven days,” he said.

“I don’t have seven days to give but if I can do a similar number of kilometres in a shorter period of time, I can still do my bit.”

Charles is looking forward to his ride despite a rib injury hampering his training and is determined to do some longer training sessions with his Beaudesert Cycling Club friends.

Charles said it was an important cause and encouraged donations.

“The reason I’m doing Bike4Burns is it helps to provide support for children with burns and their families as the cost is ongoing for the whole of their lives,” he said.

“These kids, when they get severe burns to their body, they’re in pain all their life, so I think a bit of a saddle sore or pain on the soles of your feet from a long ride is nothing compared with what these kids have got to get through on a daily basis.”

Futsal Players Selected for Nationals

Futsal at Beaudesert State High School has made some amazing progress in the last couple of years.

This has culminated in a total of seven teams, ranging from Grade 7 to 12 boys and girls, competing at various futsal tournaments throughout the start of the year.

In Term One students from Beaudesert State High School competed at the Brisbane Metro School titles, a competition that puts the Beaudesert State High School teams up against some of the best Futsal and Football schools in Brisbane.

Physical Education teacher, Jay Buzzo, says all of the teams competed well.

and girls, will progress through to the Champions of Champions round which will be held later this year in Brisbane.

Mr Buzzo, who has been teaching at the High School for two and a half years said with this progression of the teams comes the opportunity for students to strive with their leadership skills and develop their Futsal abilities all year round.

This is evident when Queensland Futsal selectors scouted Year 12 student Gidget Berg and Year 7 student Harrison Callaghan to represent Queensland City at the National School Futsal Titles at the end of the year.

Both students were identified playing at the recent regional school titles in Brisbane and will be training hard to go up against some of the best school futsal teams the other states have to offer.

Beaudesert State High School has no doubt they will do the school proud and wishes them the best of luck.

Jo Rides 1311km for Charity

By Susie Cunningham Local cyclist Jo Perry has raised more than $6,000 for mental health out west through an epic 1311km charity bike ride from Amberley to Longreach Jo rolled into Longreach on 29 April to end the eight-day biennial charity ride, RideWest, which to date has raised $500,000 to help the Royal Flying Doctor Service bridge the gap in mental health support in

regional Queensland.

Jo said RideWest, which she has now done twice, was life changing..

“I cannot express the overwhelming sense of achievement this brings (both personally and as a team),” she said.

“Thank you to family, friends and businesses, in particular Dick Moloney, who have helped RideWest achieve this.”
