RESERVOIR MEDIA
INKS DEAL WITH FOOL’S GOLD RECORDS
Reservoir Media has established what it describes as "a multifaceted agreement" with the independent label Fool's Gold Records
Through this agreement, Reservoir has obtained the catalog master rights for artists associated with the label, including A-Trak, Danny Brown, Grande Marshall, The Brothers Macklovitch, and Low Pros.
Additionally, Reservoir will serve as the exclusive marketer and distributor for all recordings from Fool's Gold, encompassing both current and upcoming releases, utilizing the Reservoir label platform.
This arrangement, orchestrated by Fool's Gold Chief Financial Officer Jorge Mejias, label manager Nathaniel Heller, and A-Trak’s management team at TMWRK, integrates Fool's Gold into Reservoir’s recorded music division, alongside “cornerstone” independent labels such as Chrysalis Records, Tommy Boy Music, and the recently acquired New State, among others. In 2021, Reservoir completed the acquisition of Tommy Boy Music in a deal worth approximately $100 million.
In February, the company also acquired UK dance and electronic label New State along with its extensive catalog of over 13,000 tracks.
The acquisition of the Chrysalis Records catalog in 2019 was completed for an undisclosed amount. Fool’s Gold will utilize Reservoir’s label platform for
marketing and distribution.
As part of the agreement, Reservoir is now responsible for distributing A-Trak & Friends, a new sub-label of Fool’s Gold that showcases music from A-Trak and additional artists. The inaugural release from A-Trak & Friends was "Reaching" by James Juke featuring LION
RELL LAFARGUE & A-TRAK
BABE, which debuted last month. Founded in 2007 in Brooklyn, Fool’s Gold was initiated by DJs A-Trak (Alain Macklovitch), Nick Catchdubs (Nick Barat), musician Dave 1 (David Macklovitch), and the late Dust La Rock (Joshua Prince).
The label gained early traction
from artists like Kid Cudi, Kid Sister, Flosstradamus, and Danny Brown, known for tracks such as "Grown Up" and "25 Bucks," as well as A-Trak’s own productions.
In 2010, his duo Duck Sauce created the viral hit "Barbra Streisand," which climbed to No.3 in the UK and grabbed the
No.1 spot on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart, even earning a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording. A-Trak also saw success as a solo performer with his remix of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ "Heads Will Roll" and singles like "Ray Ban Vision," "Believe," "DJ’s Gotta Dance More," and "My Own Way." The Fool’s Gold catalog encompasses works by Treasure Fingers, Hoodboi, Tommy Trash, Falcons, G-Worthy, Malaa, and Michael Christmas.
In its most recent fiscal year, Reservoir invested over $115 million in acquisitions and advances, while its annual revenue increased by 10% year-over-year to reach $158.7 million.
Commenting on the deal, A-Trak said: “I’ve been thoroughly impressed by Reservoir ever since the first time we all spoke. Everyone at the company has a deep passion for quality music.
“A big part of what’s helped Fool’s Gold navigate 18 years in the music biz is staying very nimble and malleable. Reservoir was able to craft a creative deal with us that showed real agility — that’s exactly what we were looking for in a new partner.”
Reservoir President and Chief Operating Officer Rell Lafargue added:
“As both founder and artist, A-Trak has built Fool’s Gold into a genre-blurring label that has been at the forefront of hip-hop, house, and everything in between for nearly two decades.
“We’re proud to welcome A-Trak, Fool’s Gold, and its artists into the Reservoir family as we continue to champion culturally significant independent music.
“This multifaceted deal also highlights Reservoir’s ongoing expansion in recorded music and our team’s ability to deliver across the full spectrum of the music business.”

SONY CORP RELEASES
360 VIRTUAL MIXING AUDIO
Sony Corporation is broadening access to its 360 Virtual Mixing Environment (360VME) audio technology, making it available for the first time to creators in music, education, and film & television.
The renowned Japanese electronics company, home to Sony Music Group, announced on June 12, 2025 that it has established partnerships with Guitar Center Professional and Advanced Systems Group to distribute the 360VME system.
This innovative technology utilizes specialized headphones to simulate the acoustic environment found in professional studios, enabling anyone to craft studio-quality mixes from any location.
It addresses common hurdles in music production, such as the necessity of renting costly studios to achieve professional-grade mixes.
The 360VME technology empowers producers to capture the sonic attributes of reference studios and reproduce them via headphones.
According to Sony, the system operates by performing “a onetime studio measurement” of a reference studio, which is then enhanced using personalized Head-Related Transfer Function (HRTF) data and binaural processing to recreate that environment through headphones, including models like Sony’s MDR-MV1.
Guitar Center Professional has begun providing public access to the technology at its main store in Hollywood and the Nashville Custom House experience center.
The retailer is also sending staff to carry out on-site measurements at client facilities, which allows
musicians to duplicate their preferred studio environments.
Advanced Systems Group plans to use 360VME in client workflows after acquiring Audio Intervisual Design for improved film and TV audio production.
Sony first tested 360VME with sound professionals during
the pandemic, contributing to projects like Venom: The Last Dance and Until Dawn.
The technology is also used by Big. Ass. Kids. in Los Angeles for new music projects involving emerging artists and producers, with Sony providing the hardware. Universities like New York University, Drexel
University, and the University of Toronto are incorporating 360VME into their audio engineering programs. Sony is also partnering with BandLab Technologies to enhance user experience with spatial audio.

It features five exciting tracks that highlight Martin’s knack for creating catchy beats while showcasing up-and-coming artists which we will highlight in the following pages.
By Joseph Wensell
BSM: What inspired you to become a full-time touring DJ and record producer?
MJ: "I always had a passion for all things live music. I originally considered progressing my career in lighting engineering and stage design, as I was always the guy 'behind the scenes' but I found that inspirational and ultimately, wanted more. At first, it was difficult to break out, as many producers do find, where you are just placed as the warm-up guy or a side act to the main event but as I took producing more seriously, even before the big hits and my breakthrough track ‘Solo Dance,' I knew that this was really what I wanted to do."
BSM: You are coming up on your tenth anniversary of your breakout hit “Solo Dance.” Take us back in time and explain the track’s inspiration, popularity, and how it propelled you to where you are now in your career.
MJ: "Wow, how time flies! That track did a lot for my career and for that I am forever grateful – it is stull enjoyed all around the world from other DJs playing it out, to hearing it on the radio and at sporting events and TV commercials, that track kicked everything off for me! But ultimately, I am not one to stay focused on the past. There is no doubt ‘Solo Dance’ did amazing things
for me and I’m super appreciative that my fans and audiences still show it love, even a decade on, but my aim is to always push forward as an artist. If you listen to a number of my tracks over the years – say, more club-focused records across big-room and house, over to my latest EP ‘HYPEBEAST’ – I think you can see the progression and, to me, that is something that I am so appreciative that I have been granted the freedom and space to do that."
BSM: What are your favorite tracks and videos within your discography and why?
MJ: "I honestly think my latest ‘HYPEBEAST’ EP is some of the best work I have ever done! It started a completely new creative burst for me that involved lots of back-toback sessions and making new music over the last 6 months and which will unfold as releases throughout this year. I wanted to represent a diverse collection of artists, from YAKO and Sami Brielle, to SAVI, Roxy Ferrari and more, to each bring a different sound and their own flair. We touch on house music at its core through my production but also brought in amazing rappers and vocalists adding in hip-hop and trap vibes, as well as some tongue-in-cheek vocals for a real fun collection of tracks! I hope you all enjoy it to soundtrack your Summer!"
BSM: Who are the musicians/bands you listened to while growing up?
MJ: "I listened to a lot of Danish pop music that my parents played at home, which is likely why I am still a big fan of pop music to this day but I do remember igniting my passion for electronic music with the first dance record I bought. It was ‘Played Alive (Bongo Song)’ by the Danish duo, Safri Duo."
BSM: Who are the musicians/producers that you reference for inspiration and new musical ideas?
MJ: "There are many, and too many to mention! My biggest inspiration these days comes from looking towards evolving sounds, cross over acts, and genre mixing artists. Fresh talent, is extremely inspirational. New ideas from fresh minds, that haven’t been pulled into the limbo of chasing hits, but are creating music out of pure passion and love of music is really what inspires me, no matter what scene it is from."
BSM: Tell us about your new EP “HYPEBEAST” and why music lovers should get behind it.
MJ: "HYPEBEAST" is really a celebration of diversity! I wanted to highlight female producers and collaborators, other artists from the USA, Asia and beyond, all to explore each others influence with a fun twist! We all pushed each other out of our creative comfort zones from vocal ideas over to building production into a final EP where every track can stand strong on its own, but also present a cool, collective idea that we hope everyone will enjoy! It has everything from jump-up bassline and an earworm hook on the title track with SAVI and Eliana, over to audacious, fun lyrics on ‘YOUR MAMA’ and deep, future and afro house on ‘YES, PLEASE’ – it really is one of the most exciting collabs and projects I’ve ever worked on."
BSM: What are the differences between the music on “HYPEBEAST” and your previously released music?
MJ: "Haha, a lot more fun! I think previously I’ve worked a lot on club-focused tracks, often without lyrics, and just capturing that peak-time vibe, and other times I’ve gone down a more commercial and pop/ radio-ready route. With ‘HYPEBEAST’ I threw out the rule book

completely and simply, let loose and had fun, all whilst keeping a signature Martin Jensen style at the core. I think ‘HYPEBEAST’ as a whole reflects my development and excitement as an artist where I am right now in my career, the most confident I’ve ever been.
8: Which festival stands out as your favorite, as an attendee, as a performer, and why?
MJ: "I love playing at Tomorrowland, that is always so much fun! I’ve played a number of stages there including the mainstage and it always feels like a “bucket list” show for a lot of artists. The diversity of artists from house, to hardstyle, techno and commercial
EDM makes it a real melting pot for any music fan."
BSM: What 2025 gigs are you most looking forward to?
MJ: "After a lot of hard work in the studio, I’m excited to get back on tour this year! My team have been working hard behind the scenes and we have a whole host of dates to announce soon – you can keep up to date on my social media to be the first to find out and I’m so excited to see you all on the road with some new music! 2025 is set to be my biggest and best yet and you’re all welcome along for the ride!"
"I HONESTLY THINK MY LATEST ‘HYPEBEAST’ EP IS SOME OF THE BEST WORK I HAVE EVER DONE! IT STARTED A COMPLETELY NEW CREATIVE BURST FOR ME THAT INVOLVED LOTS OF BACK-TO-BACK SESSIONS AND MAKING NEW MUSIC OVER THE LAST 6 MONTHS AND WHICH WILL UNFOLD AS RELEASES THROUGHOUT THIS YEAR."

With a combination of deep funk and vibrant house beats, it stands out due to its catchy hooks and confident attitude. Roxy Ferrari and I. D. O. (Brandon Beal), known for their impactful music, contribute their unique styles to this dance-ready anthem.
"ANIMAL" features strong beats and powerful vocals that evoke primal energy. Artists Yako and Kromi contribute their talents to create an exciting big-room sound. The track is designed to captivate listeners and leave them eager for more.
"YES, PLEASE" begins with playful and bold lines, celebrating a carefree lifestyle. Its lyrics feature themes of luxury and indulgence, highlighted by Long Island Iced Teas and exciting experiences. GETTING TO KNOW KLINGANDE
DRINKS, FOODS, BOOKS, FILMS, ART, MUSIC AND MORE.
Cédric Steinmyller, known as KLINGANDE, is a successful DJ and producer in the melodic house genre. He found his passion for electronic music as a teenager and has since released popular tracks alongside other artists like Kygo, Bakermat and Sam Feldt.
KLINGANDE's music stands out due to his use of unique instruments and as a
saxophone player in his live shows. He has performed at major festivals such as Ultra Music Festival and Tomorrowland.
His hit track "Jubel" gained massive popularity, with over 239 million YouTube views and numerous charttopping positions.
Taking a different approach with this feature Q&A, we learned what Cédric does when he's not in the studio creating his music, or on the road touring the world. Surprisingly, we share a few common interests, especially his favorite book and what he enjoys talking about in conversational situations.
DAILY ROUTINE
BSM: Take us through your daily routine.
Klingande: "My daily routine is actually pretty simple, especially when I’m not touring. I usually take my time in the morning — I don’t rush straight into the studio. I’ll start with a coffee, ease into the day, and I typically begin producing around 1 PM. From there, I just go with the flow. I don’t set strict hours or try to force anything — After that, I like to get in a light workout to unwind, and then spend the evening chilling with friends. That’s basically my rhythm when I’m home."
RELAXATION
BSM: What is your favorite form of relaxation?
KLINGANDE: "I’m quite a homebody, so my favorite way to relax is just having time for myself. I usually try to take one day a week where I don’t plan anything — no studio, no pressure — just a quiet day where I do as little as possible. I also really enjoy taking an hour or two before going to bed to be alone, do whatever I feel like, and disconnect. It’s my way of recharging."
FOOD & DRINK
BSM: What is your favorite beverage/drink?
KLINGANDE: "Honestly, I’m a bit addicted to lemon water — I love anything with lemon in it, so that’s definitely my go-to drink. If we’re talking cocktails, though, I’d probably say an Espresso Martini."
BSM: What is your favorite food?
KLINGANDE: "I’m a huge, huge, huge fan of Indian food. I’m totally obsessed with Chicken curry, butter chicken, and of course, cheese naan — I could eat that every day. It’s comforting. Definitely my favorite."
MUSIC
BSM: What is your favorite music album?
KLINGANDE: "It’s honestly difficult to pick just one. There are so many albums from artists I admire that have shaped my taste over the years. I tend to love those albums that feel like a collection of their best songs — the kind you keep coming back to. I’d say something from the Red Hot Chili Peppers or Nirvana, especially because I remember Nirvana being the first album I ever bought as a kid. There’s so much emotion and memory tied to those tracks. Another one that really stuck with me is Final Straw by Snow Patrol. I saw the cover recently and it instantly brought everything back — the mood, the feeling, that time in my life."
FILMS
BSM: What is your favorite film/ movie?
KLINGANDE: "Lately, I watched The Great Beauty (La Grande Bellezza), and I was completely taken by it. I wouldn’t call it my “all-time favorite,” but it definitely feels like a masterpiece that found me at the right time."
VACATION SPOTS
BSM: What is your favorite vacation destination?
KLINGANDE: "I don’t really have one single favorite vacation spot, because every place has its own kind of magic. I love going to the south of France to see my parents, and I also really enjoy the northern French coast where many of my close friends live. When I’m on tour, I try to take some time to enjoy places like Los Angeles — there’s a special energy there that I really connect with. But if I had to choose one place that brings it all together — nature, music, people, vibe — I’d say Ibiza."
ART
BSM: Who is your favorite visual artist?
KLINGANDE: "There are too many, honestly — I’m really passionate about visual art. But if I had to name a few, I’d say James Turrell for his incredible work with light and space, and Victor Vasarely, whose optical art I’ve always found fascinating. I’m also a big fan of Arthur Dorval — I love his use of color and geometry, and I really hope to own one of his pieces someday."
BOOKS
BSM: What is your favorite book?
KLINGANDE: "One book that really stayed with me is The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. It’s all about being present and appreciating the moment you’re in, which is something I try to apply in both my personal life and my creative process."
CONVERSATION
BSM: What is your favorite topic of conversation?
KLINGANDE: "Lately, I’ve been fascinated by everything related to the cosmos — the origin of life, why we’re here, how incredibly rare our existence is. When you look at all the variables that had to align for life to emerge on Earth, the odds are just insanely low. It’s like 0.000000-something. And yet, here we are. That thought amazes me every day. I love talking about these big questions — not to find answers necessarily, but to feel something real — ."

"'Vamos,' it’s not just about the music; it’s about getting people to feel alive, to feel the rhythm, and to experience something in the moment."
LEXLAY is a Spanish DJ and producer from Barcelona with nearly 20 years of experience. He specializes in Tech House, House Music, and Groovy Techno, bringing joy and positivity to his music and performances. His catchphrase, "VAMOS," and cheerful personality create a fun atmosphere for his audience. In 2012, he founded his label, Happy Techno Music, which hosts over 300 artists and a recognized sound. LEXLAY has released music through major labels and has toured over 45 countries, performing at famous venues like Pacha and ADE. He incorporates the saxophone in his work and has notable tracks such as "Bassdown" and "Saxolax." He has exciting plans for musical and event developments to connect with his fans and promote his unique sound globally and a few more nuggets to share in this Q&A. Enjoy reading.
BSM: What is the most satisfying aspect of being a DJ and producer?
LEXLAY: "The most satisfying aspect of being a DJ and producer is often the ability to connect with people through music. Whether you're in the studio crafting a track or performing live, seeing your creation spark an emotional reaction, whether it’s a powerful dancefloor moment or someone telling you your music resonated with them, can be incredibly rewarding.
For producers, there's a deep sense of fulfillment in the creative process—shaping sounds, experimenting with different elements, and eventually hearing your final track come to life. It’s like solving a puzzle, but one where the end result can make people feel something, or even change the vibe of an entire room.
For DJs, the magic often comes in the moments when you sync with the crowd. The ability to read the room, build the energy, and give the audience exactly what they need in that moment feels deeply satisfying. It’s all about that connection—both with the crowd and the music itself."
BSM: It has been said that your motto is VAMOS, meaning “Let’s Go,” Come On,” and “Come Along.” What does it mean to you?
LEXLAY: "For me, 'VAMOS' is more than just a word—it’s an energy, a vibe. It's about bringing people together, pushing boundaries, and creating a sense of unity on the dancefloor. When I say 'Vamos,' it’s not just about the music; it’s about getting people to feel alive, to feel the rhythm, and to experience something in the moment. It’s about saying, 'Let’s go' and truly living in the now— letting the music guide us as one collective. In my sets, it’s that moment where we all come together, and everything aligns. It’s like a call to action, a signal that we’re in this together and there’s no stopping the energy we’re creating. Every track, every beat, is a part of that journey."
BSM: What is your “go-to” track to get the crowd dancing?
LEXLAY: "For me, it really depends on the vibe of the crowd, but one track I always turn to is Filterheadz / Sunshine. It has this perfect balance of energy, melody and groove that works in almost any setting.
The bassline hits just right, and the build-up always gets people moving. It’s got that deep, driving rhythm that makes it hard for anyone to stay still. Every time I drop it, you can feel the energy shift, and the crowd just connects with it. It’s like a secret weapon for getting the party going, no matter the crowd or the time of night."
BSM: Which recording of yours are you most proud of and why?
LEXLAY: "The recording I’m most proud of is probably 'My Money.' It’s a track that really represents where I was at musically when I created it. It has this perfect blend of tech-house elements with a bit of a darker, deeper vibe, and it really connects with my style. But more than just the track itself, it’s the journey behind it. I remember spending weeks tweaking the details, finding the right balance. When I finally finished it, I felt like I had truly captured something authentic. The reaction from the
crowd when I played it live for the first time was also a big moment for me—it felt like all that hard work had really paid off."
BSM: Have you ever had a bad gig?
LEXLAY: "Unfortunately, yes, every DJ has suffered this. One of my early gigs didn’t go as planned. The sound system wasn’t working properly, and I had some technical issues with my setup.
It was frustrating because I had everything planned, but things just weren’t coming together. But those experiences are part of the learning process. They’ve helped me stay grounded and remind me that no gig is perfect. What’s important is how you handle it and keep pushing forward. I always try to focus on what I can control, like the energy and the connection with the crowd, even when things aren’t going smoothly."
BSM: Tell us about Happy Techno Music. Why was it established and how has the label grown since its beginnings?
LEXLAY: "Happy Techno Music was born out of a desire to create a space for music that truly reflects the energy and positivity that I feel when I’m behind the decks. The idea was to bring together artists and tracks that have a deep, driving sound but also a certain lightness—music that makes you move but also puts a smile on your face. The vision was to build something that wasn’t just about the beats, but about creating a connection with the listeners.
My manager, Victor, played a huge role in developing the concept. He’s been instrumental in shaping the label’s identity. His experience in the industry and his understanding of what works musically and commercially really helped turn the idea into something concrete. Together, we’ve been able to curate a sound that’s unique but accessible, combining elements of tech-house, deep house, and a little bit of that euphoric energy that people love on the dancefloor.
Since its inception, the label has grown significantly. We’ve signed some really talented artists who share that same passion for creating uplifting, high-energy tracks. The support from the community has been amazing, and it’s been really gratifying to see the music take off in different parts of the world. We’ve had some tracks that have been picked up by major playlists, and we’ve started to build a strong reputation within the scene. It's not just about releasing music, it’s about building a family of artists who share the same vision of positive, happy energy through music.
One of our most successful releases has been Freenzy Music – Riding High. It really resonated with the crowdand gained significant support, both on playlists and from other DJs. It was a key moment for the label, marking a breakthrough and helping to establish our sound. The feedback has been amazing, and it opened the door for more opportunities to grow the label and sign new talent."
BSM: What new releases do you have coming out this year?
"HAPPY TECHNO MUSIC WAS BORN OUT OF A DESIRE TO CREATE A SPACE FOR MUSIC THAT TRULY REFLECTS THE ENERGY AND POSITIVITY THAT I FEEL WHEN I’M BEHIND THE DECKS. THE IDEA WAS TO BRING TOGETHER ARTISTS AND TRACKS THAT HAVE A DEEP, DRIVING SOUND BUT ALSO A CERTAIN LIGHTNESS—MUSIC THAT MAKES YOU MOVE BUT ALSO PUTS A SMILE ON YOUR FACE."
LEXLAY: "At Happy Techno Music, we’re releasing new tracks every week, which is really exciting. This year, we’ve already dropped some great stuff, and we’ve got more to come. In June, we release our Sonar Compilation, which has been getting a lot of love, and in October, we’re following up with the ADE Compilation, which is shaping up to be something special as well.
We’re also looking to take things a step further by releasing some of our best tracks on vinyl soon. It's been something we’ve wanted to do for a while, and now we’re finally getting it off the ground. It’s going to be a big move for the label, and we’re really excited to share these new sounds with our audience in that format."
BSM: What's in store for the rest of 2025 and into 2026?
LEXLAY: "The rest of 2025 and 2026 are looking very exciting! I’ve already released my anniversary album celebrating 20 years as a DJ, and the response has been amazing. Now, I’m focused on continuing to tour and
share that energy with the world.
I’ll be starting to tour the United States soon, which is a big milestone for me. In August 2025, I’ll be heading to Vietnam and Indonesia for some exciting shows, and after that, I’ll be doing an extended tour in South America from January to March 2026—escaping the cold and hitting some incredible spots down there.
I’ll also be heading to Australia, which will be a great opportunity to connect with new fans. Through all of this, I’ll keep releasing fresh music, keep the energy flowing, and continue traveling the world to share the message of music and positivity.
Thank you so much for taking the time to dive into my journey and music. It means a lot to share these moments and stories with fans and the community. I appreciate the support and the opportunity to reflect on where I’ve been and where I’m headed. Looking forward to what’s next—and I hope to see everyone on the dance floor soon!"

TRAX
BY JOSEPH ARTHUR
@RECORDS 40
Trax Records was founded by Larry Sherman in 1985 in Chicago, focusing on community and a do-it-yourself spirit. It has introduced a unique and experimental sound over the years, with Screamin' Rachael as a key figure in electronic music. Rachael's punk roots and work with artists like Frankie Knuckles helped promote house music, especially in New York. To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Trax will release "Trax Records: The 40th Anniversary Collection," a compilation available digitally and on limited-edition vinyl. The label emphasizes artistic integrity and plans limited runs of each record in the anniversary series. An in-store celebration will include performances. Trax also released "Rising Again," supporting social causes, and introduced a fashion line. Rachael continues to advocate for emerging artists and the LGBTQ community.
Founded by Larry Sherman at a small vinyl pressing facility located on Chicago’s industrial west side in 1985, Trax never aligned with the mainstream music industry. It sprang up authentically, firmly based in rebellion, community, and a do-it-yourself mindset. The label's fearless, unapologetic, and avant-garde sound has shaped a generation and continues to transform even after four decades. Screamin’ Rachael, recognized as one of the initial female pioneers in electronic music, still leads Trax, promoting its ethos of freedom and creativity. Rachael’s entry into house music was influenced by her punk origins and her strong connections to Chicago’s underground culture. Her formative experiences near Frankie Knuckles’ Warehouse and her groundbreaking vocal contributions to what Rolling Stone later identified as the first vocal house track initiated a career that would define a genre.

Throughout her journey, she played a pivotal roll in spreading Chicago’s sound to new locations, introducing house music to the New York Club Kid circuit, collaborating with Afrika Bambaataa to help create Hip House, and partnering with notable DJs such as Larry Levan and DJ Keoki.
In celebration of its 40th anniversary, Trax is releasing Trax Records: The 40th Anniversary Collection—a dynamic, multiformat compilation that embodies the label’s history, current influence, and future direction.
Curated by the artist and provocateur Jorge, the collection will be available digitally and through limited-edition vinyl releases starting June 20.
This compilation acts as an exploration of house music’s transformation, pairing foundational figures like Frankie Knuckles, Marshall Jefferson, Phuture, Ron Hardy, Armando, and Paul Johnson with innovative producers like Jorge, Hiroko Yamamura, and Analog 87.
Featuring legendary tracks such as “Move Your Body” and “Your Love,” along with genre-bending remixes and experimental deep cuts, the compilation highlights Trax’s role as a pioneer and innovator. What has consistently distinguished Trax is its unwavering commitment to authenticity.
The label elevated DJs to prominence long before the rise of the superstar DJ and embraced Hip House well before it entered the mainstream consciousness.
Under the leadership of Screamin’ Rachael, Trax continues to emphasize artistic integrity over algorithms—favoring substance over popularity metrics, staying true to creativity, history, and the essence of the underground scene.

NEW MUSIC
SOLARSTONE: innermost
Black Hole Recordings / AVAILABLE NOW
Solarstone's new album is his first in five years, following the release of "island." During this time, Rich Solarstone experienced significant life changes, including becoming a husband and a father again. His personal journey has influenced his music, culminating in his ninth album, which is deeply reflective. Key tracks include "dream sequence"
and "sonata," both influenced by classic progressive house music. "star," featuring Susie Ledge, captures themes inspired by Sabres Of Paradise and Enya. The title track, "innermost," reflects intense emotion and took a week to master.
"underground" addresses depression with a hopeful tone, while "boy" reflects on his first born after the arrival of his second son. The album concludes with "complicated," which explores new love and the clash of expectations with reality.
“Good music demands that you push yourself, and the best of it also forces you to take risks ” says Rich Mowatt, “and I’m more than aware that ‘innermost’ inherently carries some of the latter. In its native form, this is not a club album, but then I didn’t see 2020’s‘ island’ as one either.
I believe that area is better addressed by my singles ‘(Shards,’ ‘Hope', ‘Sovereign,’ ‘Thinking Of You,’ and so forth). That leaves latter-day Solarstone artist albums more open to explore to range, so the clubbier tracks that do exist on ‘innermost’ are woven into a broader sonic texture."

WEHBBA: STUDIO DUMP 05.25
HIFN / AVAILABLE NOW
Electronic music disruptor Wehbba drops his latest body of work, STUDIO DUMP 05.25 - a surprise, norules album project, unveiled piece by piece over the past four weeks via his multi-art platform, HIFN. No strategy. No roadmap. Just raw output.
STUDIO DUMP 05.25 is what happens when an artist stops editing and starts releasing - immediately, impulsively and unapologetically.
It’s a collection of sonic sketches pulled straight from
WEHBBA
the studio floor: spontaneous, unpolished, and absolutely alive. Rolled out in weekly drops across the month and now finally here in its complete arrangement, the project invites listeners into the chaos and clarity of real-time creativity. These aren’t refined final forms - they’re artifacts of inspiration as it struck. Unfinished on paper, but complete in essence.
There is a moment in creation when everything flows - before the overthinking, before the polishing, before doubt creeps in. A moment when instinct takes over and ideas move faster than the mind can process. STUDIO DUMP 05.25 is that moment, frozen in time. Each track is a fragment of energy, a snapshot of movement and thought before it could be
be second-guessed. The tracks on STUDIO DUMP 05.25 - including titles like “RENN,” “TRACTION,” “EXIT TIME,” “RESPECT THE PROCESS,” “SYNTHETICS,” “BRAIN CONFUSION,” “ESSENCE,” “MIRAGE” (with Misstress Barbara), and “SYMMETRY” - weren’t designed for uniformity or to chase trends. Each piece was developed with a clear purpose: to serve distinct moments within a DJ or live set, offering tools to shift momentum, redirect energy, or carve out unexpected space on a dance floor.
Rather than aiming to match the sound of highenergy, chart-topping techno, these tracks lean into individuality - each one breaking form in its own way, challenging structure while remaining highly functional. The result is a collection that feels
varied STUDIO DUMP 05.25 isn’t just an album - it’s a transmission, a thought experiment, a memory bank of sound. The collection speaks to the volatile nature of electronic music in the age of social media, reflecting how the culture of the scene, like the fleeting scroll of a social feed, is created, consumed, and replaced with dizzying speed.
As with every HIFN release, the music is accompanied by a wordscape; an abstract reflection of its essence through poetry. The wordscape itself is a meditation on the emptiness that would arise if our social media feed were to disappear. What would happen to someone’s behaviour, emotions, even sense of self, when governed by the need for validation through external interactions?
The words move like the music - repetitive, hypnotic, unravelling. A mirror held up to the digital world, where reality is curated and fractured, where presence is measured in engagement, and where silence feels like oblivion. Bring back the feed.
Wehbba invites listeners to reflect on how deeply this digital existence has woven itself into our lives, while also celebrating it. Everything in life, even the ephemeral, can be seen as art - because art is everywhere, in all things and there can be value in what disappears, as long as it is intentional. The way STUDIO DUMP 05.25 is presented week by week is a testament to this idea and a nod to one of Wehbba’s favorite art forms: street art - raw, transitory but purposeful.
STUDIO DUMP 05.25 is a tribute to that ethos - an album that doesn’t strive for perfection but instead captures something real, something instinctive, something honest.
The entire aesthetic is an explosion of textures and fragments, layered like a memory half-remembered. It doesn’t try to be perfect. It doesn’t try to be clean. It simply exists. And now, it’s out in the world.
STUDIO DUMP 05.25 is available now on all streaming platforms. No edits. No second-guessing. Just sound. Just feeling. Just movement:

PARIS: LABYRINTH
THIS NEVER HAPPENED / AUGUST 29, 2025
Australian producer, DJ, and artist PARIS will release her debut album, Labyrinth, on August 29 via Lane 8’s imprint, This Never Happened.
Featuring 12 original tracks, including collaborations with Juno Mamba and Rinzen, Labyrinth is a deeply personal and creatively ambitious record— the culmination of over a decade of evolution in sound, identity, and vision.
“The labyrinth felt like the perfect metaphor for what
this process has been,” says PARIS, real name Paris Forscutt. “Going inward, exploring, making sense of all these parts of myself, and then surfacing with something to share. With a labyrinth, you go in, but you also come out — and there’s only one path.”
Written over several years and through periods of both isolation and clarity, Labyrinth represents PARIS's transition from the club-focused underground of her previous alias Made in Paris to a more expansive, nuanced space, where melodic techno, ambient, breaks, and electronica converge.
From the immersive synthscapes of opener “Genesis”
PARIS
to the break-driven shimmer of “Flourish” and the soaring euphoria of “Stay” with Juno Mamba, the album navigates moods and genres without ever losing its emotional center.
Anchoring the record is first single “Beechworth Cascades,” inspired by a spontaneous solo hike in regional Victoria.
The track blends field recordings of cicadas and cascading water with crystalline synths and subtle builds—a Four Tet–like fusion of nature and machine. “I remember just sitting there, recording these textures, not knowing they'd become the start of something
bigger,” PARIS recalls. “That moment in the forest was the seed.” Elsewhere, PARIS collaborates with Rinzen on the atmospheric “Wildfire,” delivers dark techno pulses with “DiCA,” and ventures into reflective territory with tracks like “Papaya” and “Rain on a Monday.”
What unites the record is a constant sense of discovery — each track a new turn within the labyrinth, revealing a different facet of the artist at its core.
This is more than a debut; it’s a statement of intent from an artist unafraid to step outside expectation and move toward something more instinctual and honest.
With over 2.3 million streams on her breakout This Never Happened release “Collide” (with Kaleida), and prior support from Pete Tong, Triple J, and RÜFÜS DU SOL, PARIS is no stranger to global attention.
Yet Labyrinth marks the start of something new: a full-length body of work rooted not in trend, but in truth.
Ahead of a wider tour later this year, PARIS will debut her Into the Labyrinth shows—three extended 4-hour headline sets in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane this June, offering fans an immersive preview of the album in its full, cinematic scope.
Following these dates, PARIS will embark on a full LP tour in September and October across Australia and New Zealand.
In November, she’ll return to the US as part of the second edition of the This Never Happened Presents tour.
She’ll also join Lane 8 and Sultan + Shepard for two special shows in Johannesburg and Cape Town to close out the month.
Labyrinth is available August 29 on This Never Happened. The first single, “Beechworth Cascades,” arrives on June 26.

ENRICO SANGIULIANO:
VARIATIONS IN PRODUCTION: VOLUME1 NINETOZERO / JULY 3, 2025
Enrico Sangiuliano is a Producer, Performer & Sound Designer born in Reggio Emilia, Italy. Since he was a child, his desire was to create noises and sounds from everyday objects, but it was in his teenage years he turned his attention to technology and started to learn how to make music on his computer at home in the 90’s. Since 2009, the producer has worked with many top labels like Truesoul and Rhythm Converted. He gained international fame in August 2015 with his remix of DJ Boris's "Can You Hear Me," which was the highest selling track on Beatport for 2015 and held
the 1 spot for 14 weeks. His EP "X-Pollination," released in March 2016, also topped the Beatport charts for over 2 months.
He later released tracks on Drumcode, including "Trrbulence," "Start Of Madness," and "Moon Rocks," which collectively dominated the Techno Top 10.
His latest release is "Astral Projection" with a deep B-side, "Blooming Era." Pioneering, uncompromising, yet frequent chart-stormer, sound designer/ producer/performer Enrico Sangiuliano releases a remix EP of his seminal, startling ‘The Techno Code’.
The techno manifesto dropped in April, also on his countdown imprint NINETOZERO, as part of VA EP
ENRICO SANGIULIANO
‘Discipline’, since when it’s won multiple plays and plaudits on dancefloors, radio and streaming platforms.
Remixes accompanying the original on the new digital EP are by Kevin de Vries & SLVR; Charlotte de Witte; Avalon & Tristan, plus a bonus DJ tool edit.
The Techno Code (Original Mix) is at once a spoken ‘how to’ of techno and a celebration of the genre, in portentous US tones reminiscent of 50s Atom bomb warning films and of Faithless’ ‘This is my church…’ as Sangiuliano builds the track according to ‘my rules –the Techno Code’ – the hi-hats, the main theme, the touch of acid…as the Voice narrates their effect on listener and raver.
‘The Techno Code (Kevin de Vries & SLVR Remix)’: starts slower, looser and stealthier, until fleshed out with ‘plucked string’ melody overlay, while a siren-like ultra-high note joins in. They’ve also darkened the bass elements while chopping, but maintaining the centrality and clarity of the spoken words.
‘The Techno Code (Charlotte de Witte’s Acid Code)’: adds hoover swoops, spacey stabs, and a braininvading beeping backbeat.
As per de Witte’s remix title, the ‘little acid’ of the original becomes a fizzing main theme. Reordering/cutting the words gives more emphasis to the ‘journey’ motif and builds on the ‘tension/ anticipation’.
‘The Techno Code (Avalon & Tristan Remix)’ (Digital Exclusive): the spoken word is stripped back to a powerful intro and brief interjections, all processed with echo, robotic effects, distortion... and all about the anticipation - what you are about to hear, here it comes… The acid is raised to sulphuric levels by a pulsing tooth-tingling synth in a fast psy-trance ride.
Digital Tracklist:
1. The Techno Code (Original Mix)
2. The Techno Code (Kevin de Vries & SLVR Remix)
3. The Techno Code (Charlotte de Witte’s Acid Code)
4. The Techno Code (Avalon & Tristan Remix)
5. The Techno Code (DJ Tool)

MATRODA:
VARIATIONS IN PRODUCTION: VOLUME1
HIFNNINETOZERO / JULY 3, 2025
Croatian raised producer Matroda is the epitome of electronic music’s fleeting existence. Welcoming house music in his own unique way, with the aptly named ‘matrodasound’ coined by his true fans, the studio sets no limits for this unique but incredibly celebrated artist.
Taking early influences from the likes of Led Zeppelin, Frank Sinatra and The Beatles while introducing classical training across the violin, drums and keyboard, the Matroda sound has proven its highly
MATRODA
desirable accomplishment around the world over recent years.
From shows at EDC Las Vegas and Orlando to Nocturnal Wonderland, Matroda has solidified his presence, both on and off the stage. The natural born DJ and producer has dotted the map with top tier global festivals and sold out shows from Ibiza and Sydney all the way to Los Angeles and more.
His first career remix of SNBRN’s ‘California’ with Chris Lake, proved an electric festival vibe-chaser gaining support from Diplo, Calvin Harris and Major Lazer, leading to further releases on Mad Decent, Confession and UKF. 2019 saw Matroda droppingone of the album’s of the year and his biggest project
one of the album’s of the year and his biggest project to date- ‘THE RED TAPE’, with features from Kaleena Zanders, Dances With White Girls, taking out runner up for best album following AC Slater’s Hi8 at #1. Later in the year his collaboration with Wax Motif on ‘Lose Control’ garnered much support as well as ‘Walk In The Spot’- a true 2019 house anthem.
In 2020 Matroda released ‘Forget It’ via Insomniac Records, hitting over 10 million streams to date. Topping the list ‘Disco Tool’ longside Bleu Clair went right to the #1 spot on the Beatport tech house chart, leaving lasting impressions on the industry and dancefloors alike.
Fast forward to 2021 when he attained the 25th best
producer spot on Tracklist1001’s renowned chart, following a string of Beatport #1’s and over one million monthly listeners on Spotify.
A new decade opened up and Matroda’s label Terminal Underground was born, releasing the first EP from himself titled Jack The House EP. ‘La Pasion’ reached top 10 chart status on Beatport’s Tech House Chart, in line with the release of the single ‘Lifting’ with 2022 welcoming ‘Gotta Let You Go’, both on Insomniac Records.
Following closely is a charged-up D&B version of “4U,” a collaborative anthem originally produced alongside house legend Martin Ikin and rising vocalist Sian-Lee.
The original track took the shape of their tech house banger—now reworked with frenetic breaks and lowend pressure that give Sian-Lee’s soulful vocals a new, high-stakes urgency.
“Saturday Love” gets a pulse-raising transformation, trading its retro soul groove for sharp breaks and a fresh rhythmic engine, maintaining its throwback charm while turning up the tempo. Closing out the EP is a VIP rework of “Gimme Some Keys,” where Matroda swaps piano-led swagger for tightly coiled energy and rave-primed momentum, anchoring the project with a nod to his club-tested roots.
Since first breaking out with his remix of SNBRN’s “California” alongside Chris Lake, Matroda has carved out his own lane in the global house scene. His selfdescribed ‘matrodasound’ fuses everything from tech house and disco to bass and rock—and with this EP, he adds drum and bass to that ever-growing list.
Over the years, his tracks have picked up support from heavyweights across genres, while his hybrid sets continue to blur lines and crush expectations.
With a global tour on the horizon—including stops at Day Trip Festival, Space Miami, Tomorrowland, and the Waxtroda Block Party with Wax Motif—Matroda continues to redefine what a modern dance artist can sound like. ‘Variations In Production Vol. 1’ is a celebration of evolution, speed, and sound system pressure.

SONNEE:
INNERSHY
WARNER BROS. / AVAILABLE NOW
Sonnee (aka Charlie Mannion) is a British producer originally from Manchester, now based in London.
His sound – a blend of organic textures, propulsive rhythms and atmospheric vocal samples – has made him one of the most exciting newcomers in the UK electronic scene.
Often compared to artists like Fred again.., Swimming Paul or Barry Can’t Swim, Sonnee has carved out a sound that’s unmistakably his own. With millions of streams, support from BBC Radio 1, and consitent
SONNEE
placement across key DSPs, he’s already made a name for himself.
His biggest tracks to date include “About You” and “Dancing Ain’t Enough” (both over 11 million Spotify streams), as well as “Leave The Water Still.”
Known for his emotionally rich collaborations with vocalists, Sonnee brings a unique human touch to his electronic productions. Alongside his original work, he runs his own club night SOLAA in London and Manchester – regularly selling out rooms with his curated line-ups.
He has delivered remixes for artists such as Edapollo x Mild Minds (Ninja Tune) and Sultan & Shepard (This
Never Happened), and supported acts including Tourist, Nimino, Model Man, Swimming Paul and ATRIP.
Earlier this year, he joined the Danish electro duo ROYA on their UK tour as a special guest.
UK producer Sonnee is riding a well-earned wave of momentum. With support from BBC Radio 1, beatport, DJ Mag and a string of hyped-up club shows behind him, the Manchester-born, Londonbased artist is now entering the next chapter with the release of his new EP, “innershy.”
This three-track release brings together his previous singles “Pollen” and “Heartfalls” (feat. Khazali) with
the new focus track “u+i” – a euphoric, emotionally charged dance track designed for hazy nights, golden-hour afterglows and the quiet moments in between. With pulsing energy and deep vulnerability, Sonnee blends club power with personal depth –a sound that doesn’t ask you to choose between moving and feeling.
“u+i” is the final release from the EP and marks its emotional high point: warm synth textures wrap around punchy bass and hypnotic vocal chops, as Sonnee captures the tension between connection and confusion, presence and distance. It’s a song about holding on, even when you’re unsure where you stand – “That always leaves me wondering whether we stand for something / if baby it’s you and I.”
The production amplifies the emotional weight of something deeper. It’s a track built for the club, but of intimacy you take home with you.
"I've embraced my innershy across this collection of three songs,” Sonnee says of the EP. The result is a sonic release – cathartic, honest, danceable.
These songs need no grand gestures to leave a deep impact. It's music that turns warm feelings into warm frequencies – or as Sonnee puts it: “warm colors into sound.

FLAUR: HOLD ON COSMOCITIES RECORDS / AVAILABLE NOW
A disco-funk venture laced with balearic pop as nostalgic as it is buoyant, Dijon-based outfit FLAUR land their inaugural EP on Cosmocities Records.
Comprised of three original songs shifting gears between electrifying grooves and washed-out downtempo, plus three remixes courtesy of Art of Tones, Gaettson and Faze Action, "Hold On" speaks the language of lively waves and sun-streaked coasts.
By turns explosive and contemplative, the duo’s vision covers a wide span of influences and styles,
fusing Californian P-funk with a touch of Supertrampesque disco and nuances of alternative pop lined with silky funk in the style of acclaimed Versailles band, Phoenix.
Full with suave Wurlitzer piano chords and ultrasyncopated slap bass, the lead-track ‘Hold On’ is an ode to 70s disco pop with its satiny textures, solarpowered melody and a swing bound to cause ravage on the dance floor.
The perfect mix of luxuriant disco, vibrant boogie house and supra-sensual cosmic escapology.
Even more elating, the layered funk of "Now" takes us into a choppy swirl of unshackled pizzicatos,
FLAUR
iridescent envelopes and epic vocal flights.
Recorded live at Mastoid Studio in Paris, "On My Mind" trades the hi-velocity disco of the first two cuts for a poignant, introspective movement, revolving around the bewitching voice of Florian, a piano and riffs draped in melancholic reverbs. A sonic journey round the confines of soulful dream pop and further intimate songwriting.
In the hands of another rising Dijon-based artist, Gaettson, "On My Mind" morphs into a dance floororiented missile, mixing a highly volatile strain of corrosive IDM, sharp breaks and nervy vocal samples.
Remixing "Hold On," South of France producer Art of
Tones takes us on a proper cosmic trip, laying further emphasis on the original's funky impact through sundrenched loops a la Alan Braxe and Fred Falke, and a buildup tailored for extended seaside afters; feet buried deep in the sand, head up in the clouds.
UK groove legends Simon and Robin Lee, alias Faze Action, round off the package with a chiselled revamp of "Now."
Slightly accelerated and built for the club, this remix treats us to a pure moment of dance-ready bliss, packed with sinuous rhythms, dynamic bass and fevered percussions.

Klaudie releases her debut single “Serenade for Strings” through Rony Seikaly’s Stride Records—a hypnotic, emotionally charged track that blends classical orchestration with modern minimal house.
Built around a motif sampled from an obscure Czech symphony, “Serenade for Strings” is a meditative, loop-driven piece that combines restraint with richness. “I came across this forgotten symphonic recording by a Czech composer and instantly felt something powerful,” Klaudie explains. “There was sadness in it, but also grace. I knew I wanted to bring it into my world—into a minimal structurewhere every sound breathes.” The track serves as both a reflection and a reintroduction. Born in the Czech
Republic, Klaudie started playing violin at age six and performed with orchestras throughout her youth. At 15, she moved alone to the U.S. to pursue a modeling career—an experience that expanded her visual and creative sensibilities. But in 2018, she quietly returned to her original passion: music. This time, she stepped behind the decks and into the studio.
“I’ve lived a few lives already,” she says. “But music was always home. This release is the first time I feel ready to share that truth, publicly and fully.”
