Sta r t i n g a festival cer tainly is a cha l l e n g e that not even u s, the o rg a n i z a t ion, is totally aware of. Ma i n l y w hen w e star t from z ero, m o n ths f rom the d ates intend ed and w i th a s m all grou p of p eop le sp read a ro u n d E u rop e. How ever, m eeting a f t e r m e eting, the team star ted g ro w i n g a nd ou r id eas getting shap e, i n a n a l m ost u nex p ected way. B u t i t wa s m ayb e b ecau se of b eing f ro m di fferent geograp hies, w ith a t e a m with creative m ind s from P o r t u g a l and Eastern Eu rop e, that w e f e l t the w ish and the need to p ro m o t e i n P or tu gal, m ainly in P or to, the a u di o visu al cu ltu ral of a region tha t i s n o t so far away, w ith a really l o w cu l t u ral p resence, ver y p resent s t e re o t y p es, b u t a great cu riosity. Eastern Eu rop e, cinem a, active p a r t i ci p a tion as Eu rop ean Union ci t i z e n s i s w hat gets u s together. Thi s i s how w e p resented ou rselves s i n ce the first m inu te. Always getting the s a m e qu estion: “ w hat is Eastern E u ro p e ? ”. Aware of this qu estion and i t s co m p l e x ity w e rep ly “ all from the B a l t i cs to the B alkans” , an area of 2 2 co u n t ries, a great cu ltu ral and hi s to r i c diversity that su rp rises u s in e a ch f i l m .

Licenciada em Jornalismo, pela ESCS, frequenta o Mestrado de Comunicação e Artes da FCSH/ NOVA, onde realizou ensaios sobre o male/female gaze no cinema contemporâneo japonês , os filmes-diário de Jonas Mekas, as performances de Yvonne Rainer e os trabalhos de videoart de Joan Jonas e Natalia LL. Assistente de Comunicação da Trienal de Arquitectura de With a Bachelor in Journalism Lisboa, em 2014, do Gabinete de in ESCS, she is a Master student Informação do Parlamento Europeu, of Communication and Arts em 2015 e da Vodafone Portugal, em in FCSH/NOVA, where she 2016, Responsável de Comunicação, works on male/female gaze Redes Sociais e Plataformas Digitais in contemporary japanese da Junta de Freguesia da Estrela, em cinema , the diary-films of 2017, é presentemente a designer Jonas Mekas, the performances do Gabinete de Informação do of Yvonne Rainer and the video Parlamento Europeu em Portugal. Licenciada em Filosofia pela Universidade do Porto e doutorada em Fotografia pela Escola de Arte & Design de Derby, Reino Unido (Ph.d.,Mphil/Ph.d./MA). “A natureza documental do meu trabalho obriga a um extenso trabalho com as pessoas e os lugares que são o tema da minha fotografia. Parte desta abordagem é sobre a relação do sujeito e o fotógrafo e não existem atalhos para o tipo de negociação e diálogo que deve ter lugar ao longo do projeto”. y Daniel Reifferscheid Daniel Reifferscheid cresceu nos Açores, estudou no Porto e vive em Londres. Co-realizou com Francisco Abrunhosa o documentário “Porto Electrónica 1985-2005” e escreveu para publicações como P3, Rua de Baixo e Hip-Hop Nation. Actualmente produz Prestes A Ver, um podcast sobre cinema português. Daniel Reifferscheid grew up in Azores, he studied in Porto and lives in London. He co-produced, with Francisco Abrunhosa, the documentary “Porto Electrónica 1985-2005” and wrote for publications like P3, Rua de Baixo and Hip-Hop Nation. In the meanwhile he produces Prestes A Ver, a podcast about Portuguese cinema.

Uma nova era está a chegar e Varsóvia está desconfortavelmente na sua ponta. Colegas da escola de artes, Cristopher e Michal, no precipício de quem se está a tornar adulto, vagueiam pelas ruas à procura de viver para sempre enquanto aproveitam o momento. Nunca contentes com as respostas, levam cada experiência ao limite, tentando perceber o verdadeiro significado do que é estar acordado num mundo que parece satisfeito por estar adormecido.

A new era is coming, and Warsaw stands uncomfortably at its edge. Art school classmates Christopher and Michal, on the precipice of their own coming of age, restlessly roam their city’s streets in search of living forever inside the beautiful moment. Never content with answers, they push each experience to its breaking point, testing what it might mean to be truly awake in a world that seems satisfied to be asleep.

MICHAŁ MARCZAK O mais recente filme de Michal “All these sleepless nights” estreou no Festival de Cinema Sundance em 2016 onde ganhou o prémio de Melhor Realização. O filme anterior, “Fuck for Forest”, estreou em South by Southwest e foi considerado o mais reputado documentário polaco de 2013, tendo sido lançado nos cinemas em vários países. Foi escolhido pela revista britânica Dazed and Confused como um dos “top 10 documentários dos últimos anos”. Michal estudou na Instituto das Artes da Califórnia e na Academia das Belas-Artes de Poznan.

MICHAŁ MARCZAK Michał’s latest feature film “All These Sleepless Nights” premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival where it won the award for Best Director. His previous feature “Fuck For Forest”, premiered at South By Southwest and is considered to be the most highlyscreened Polish Documentary of 2013, being released cinematically in a number of countries. It was chosen by UK’s Dazed and Confused Magazine as one of the “top ten most innovative and genre-pushing docs of recent years”.Michał studied at the California Institute of the Arts and is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan, Poland. 14

Adaptation Quando Marcin morre num acidente, a família entra num luto profundo. Mas, em vez da reconciliação, os membros da famílias reabrem em desespero velhas feridas. O ambiente em casa torna-se mais e mais denso a cada palavra, nem o irmão nem os pais estamos preparados para esta perda. O seu relacionamento torna-se complicado e conversar não está a ajudar a encontrar um entendimento. Para piorar, a questão de quem é culpado pela sua morte vem sempre à tona.

When Marcin dies in an accident, his family plunges into grief. But instead of looking for reconciliation, the family members frantically reopen old wounds. The atmosphere at home is becoming denser with every word said because neither the brother nor the parents were prepared for the young man’s passing away. Their mutual relations become complicated and snippets of conversations do not help the family find agreement. What is worse, the question about who is guilty of this death keeps coming back to them with increased force.

Adrian Calugaru, um jornalista da Roménia, e Mathieu Jouffre, realizador de “Baterias da Resistência”, juntam-se a nós numa mesa redonda para discutir as dificuldades de encontrar e juntar fontes, criando desafios ao seu trabalho e à descoberta das verdadeiras histórias. [Re]nascimento de uma nação nos documentários lituanos dos anos 90: morte e memória na construção da identidade cultural

w/ Teresa Vieira & Eglė Bazaraitė O cinema documental lituano dos anos 90 apresentou, no circuito de festivais de cinema europeus, uma visão de uma nação recente no panorama político internacional: uma janela para uma nova realidade, tanto para os cidadãos deste país, como para os cidadãos do mundo que o rodeava - e que, na altura, o desconhecia. Os realizadores procuraram utilizar registos da realidade mundana e rotineira do seu país e utilizá-los para uma extrapolação de questões existenciais e universais: uma poesia imagética e conceptual que se desligou das convenções mainstream do anterior cinema (nacional) soviético. A análise dos filmes produzidos na época, de realizadores como Arunas Matelis, Henrikas Sablevicius, Audrius Stonys, Algimantas Maceina, Sarunas Bartas, Deimantas Narkevicius, entre outros, dão-nos pistas relativamente à identidade nacional e memória cultural lituana: conceitos instáveis e em constante mutação.

On the circuit of Film Festivals, the Lithuanian documentary cinema of the 90’s presents us a vision of a young nation in the international political landscape: an open window for a new reality, not only for the country’s citizens, but also for citizens all around the world that didn’t know it by than. The directors try to find and use prints of everyday reality of Lithuania to use them an extrapolation of universal and existential questions: an imagery and conceptual poetry disconnected from the mainstream conventions of the late (national) soviet cinema. The film analysis on the productions of the time of directors as Arunas Matelis, Henrikas Sablevicius, Audrius Stonys, Algimantas Maceina, Sarunas Bartas, Deimantas Narkevicius, among others, give us some clues on the national identity of Lithuania and its cultural memory: unstable and constantly changing concepts.

Jacek Bławut: Of Documentary And Hope

w/ Piotr Plawuszewski O principal objetivo da minha aula é o foco no trabalho desenvolvido por um dos mais notáveis realizadores documentais Polacos - Jacek Bławut (b. 1950). Não será apenas um retrato bibliográfico, mas um retrato de um realizador (que começou a sua carreira como cinematógrafo ainda em criança). Grande parte dos documentários de Bławut passam-se à volta das vidas atribuladas (de uma forma ou de outra) dos seus personagens - a luta contra vícios, deficiências, injustiça. demónios do passado etc. Mas não é propriamente a controvérsia ou os extremos que interessam ao realizador: ele está sempre pronto a ser a testemunha de quem sofre para ultrapassar obstáculos. Como escreveu no seu livro (Character in a documentary film): “Eu faço filmes para trazer de volta a esperança às pessoas.” Vou tentar expor como esta esperança está presente no ecrã.

The main goal of my lecture is to portray a body of work of one of the most notable Polish documentary filmmakers – Jacek Bławut (b. 1950). Rather than a typical biographical portrait, it will be the portrait of a filmmaker (who started his career in a movie industry as a child actor and a cinematographer). Most of Bławut’s documentaries revolve around their characters’ (one way or another) troubled lives – they battle with addiction, disability, injustice, demons of the past etc. But it’s not the controversy or the extremes in themselves that interest the director: he’s always ready to be a witness of overcoming the difficulties. As he wrote in his book (entitled Character in a documentary film): „I make movies to bring back hope to the people”. I’ll try to expose, how this hope becomes present onscreen.

JELICA JERINIĆ graduated in Dramaturgy from Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade. She got her master’s degree at the same department (mentor Srdjan Koljević) in 2016. Em todo o mundo, uma nova geração de crianças estão a desenvolver-se passando mais tempo no mundo virtual do que a brincar no parque-infantil. Este filme mostra a história de três jovens protagonistas: um youtuber talentoso de doze anos a manobrar os seus altos e baixos causados pela rápida fama da internet, um rapaz de treze anos apaixonado por jogos de computador e uma jovem que é alvo de um predador sexual na internet. Este documentário revela a peculiar atração que os jovens têm pela internet enquanto que também alerta para alguns perigos que as crianças encontram online.

Most children today learn to use a computer before they learn how to tie their shoes or ride a bike. All around the world a new generation of children is growing up spending more time in the virtual world than playing at their local playground.This film provides stories from three young protagonists; a twelve year-old talented youtuber riding the highs and lows of overnight internet fame, a thirteen year-old boy passionate about computer games, and a young girl who falls prey to an internet sexual predator. The documentary exposes the unique attraction of the Internet for youth while also drawing attention to some of the risks children encounter in cyberspace.

O Documentário lida com o delicado tema da perda de um filho, do ponto de vista de uma mulher que tem de lidar com a situação e como a sociedade reage a um aborto. Na Eslováquia, o aborto espontâneo sem curetagem por vontade da mulher é uma opção ignorada no entanto, noutros países é um procedimento normal vigiado por enfermeiros. Este documentário capta as emoções de uma mulher durante o aborto e dá à audiência a oportunidade de perceberem mais sobre o tema.

The documentary Morning of Butterflies deals with the sensitive issue of child loss, with how a woman coped with the situation and how the society reacted during an abortion. Natural management of missed abortion, which women had chosen, is an overlooked option, in Slovakia, although in other countries it is a standard procedure, watched by caregivers. The documentary captures the unique feelings of a woman in her moments of abortion and gives to the audience the opportunity to have a better understanding of what she’s going through.

MÁRIA MARTINIAKOVÁ Mária Martiniaková (born in 1977, Slovakia) is a director and producer of documentary films, television programming, music videos and commercials. She holds an MA degree from the Technical University of Košice in Industry Engineering and MA degree of documentary at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. She directed TV documentaries for NGOs in Africa (Unicef in Uganda (2013), People in Peril in Kenya (2015)), documentaries on controversial topics - children vaccination, Trade with fear (2012). Martiniaková’s next documentary work spans across themes of social justice, natural birth and women’s violence. She likes photography and travelling. 36

The solitary universe of garage cooperatives. Here men are like small children lost in the labyrinths of sheds and their own fiction. For many fiddling with engines or self-made mechanisms is both a hobby as well as means to survive in the grey area of economics pastime as a time capsule in which neoliberalism has locked the post-industrial working classes.

O filme segue um aspirante a maestro chamado Denis durante os seus últimos exames na Academia Nacional de Música da Ucrânia em Kiev. Denis está a graduar-se com uma demonstração de The Barber of Seville de Rossini e tem 35 dias para aperfeiçoar a ópera com uma orquestra escolar e cantores, mas que versão irá escolher: uma com cortes ou a nova versão? Conseguirá a orquestra tocar a tempo? O lema do filme é “Per aspera ad astra”: um caminho atribulado leva às estrelas. Conseguirá Denis chegar ao fim?

A graduation film about someone who’s also graduating would be the shortest possible summary of The Pit (as in orchestra). The film follows an aspiring conductor named Denis during his last examination pieces at Ukraine’s National Music Academy in Kiev. Denis is graduating with a performance of Rossini’s The Barber of Seville and has 35 days to perfect the opera with a school orchestra and singers. But which version will he perform: one with cuts or a new edition? Will the orchestra ever play in time? The film’s motto is “Per aspera ad astra”: a rough road leads to the stars. Will Denis make it in the end?

Somewhere, on an oceanic island, the forces of nature are still at work as in primeval times. A young, naive female tiger lives there in harmony with herself and nature. When her awakening femininity is noticed by an older male tiger, the young tigress is getting more and more scared by his heated approach.

She was a writer, a director and an editor of her student films Linda (2012), Third Encounters of the New Kind (2011), Birthday (2010). In 2012 she was invited from Bulgarian film director Georgi Djulgerov to work as assistant director in his film Buffer Zone. After completing the shooting process, she continued her collaboration with Djulgerov as an editor of Buffer zone. SEMYON GALPERIN Concluiu os seus estudos em Matemática nas universidades de Ural e Oklahoma, concluindo mais tarde os estudos em Argumentação e Realização de Cinema. Trabalhou na televisão e na revista humorística “Red Burda”, sendo nomeado para um prémio TEFI (o equivalente ao Emmy na Rússia). Semyon é responsável pela programação do “Tele-Club”, um dos principais espaços de música e cultura. Em 2015, editou o “Pioneers-Heroes”, de Natalya Kudryashova (entrada no Festival Berlinale Panorama) e filmou duas curtasmetragens como realizador. 47

The story follows the life of a husband and wife, Drago and Persa, who lost their son ten years ago. Their plan of fake death and staged funeral will take their son’s murderer back to the village after a decade of hiding in fear of revenge. Drago, hidden in the mill with the help of his wife, plans to take the final revenge, but the solitude of several months has changed his, up until then, firm decision. Is it desire for revenge stronger than desire for life? Is it possible to forgive and close the cycle?

In a small village, a bus stops at the only intersection, where the traffic light is stuck on red. The bus driver, refuses to move forward which provokes a conflict with the passengers and the local law enforcement. A story about the funny side of apathy, selfishness, and loneliness in a world where following the rules is a misunderstanding.

PILAR PALOMERO Conclui os estudos em em Literatura Hispânica na Universidade de Saragoça e a Pós-Graduação na Escola de Cinema Comunidad de Madrid (Ecam). Após trabalhar como freelancer em vídeos musicais e anúncios publicitários, trabalhou como argumentista de televisão e cinema, assim como professora de argumentação na Universidade de San Jorge. Escreveu e realizou as curtas-metragens “Sonrisas” (2005), “Niño Balcón” (2009) e “Chan Chan” (2011).Após iniciar o doutoramento em realização de cinema em Sarajevo, sob a coordenação de Béla Tarr (film.factory), realizou as curtas-metragens “Un verano” (2015), “Noc” (2015) e “The night of all things” (produzido por INICIA FILMS). Actualmente, Pilar está a desenvolver o argumento para a sua estreia no mundo da longa-metragem, com o filme “Former Education”.

Também trabalhou como freelancer, crítica de arte e curadora. Actualmente é professora na The Academy of Fine Arts em Viena. Também publicou centenas de artigos, ensaios e alguns livros. Aina Šmid (1957) é professora de História da Arte e há bastante tempo que trabalha como editora de design de uma revista em Liubliana. Neste momento trabalha como escritora freelancer.

Marina Gržinić (1958) is doctor of philosophy and works as researcher advisor at the Institute of Philosophy at the ZRC SAZU (Scientific and Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Science and Art) in Ljubljana. Batum toma como ponto de partida, a experiência de quase afogamento no Mar Negro de Batumi, na Georgia. Como tal, o filme é apresentado com um desejo de auto-interrogação etnográfica. Imagens que surgirão no filme são uma constelação de memórias pessoais e prostéticas adquiridas através de conhecimento histórico e cultural tal como é exemplificado nos poemas de Osip Mandelstam e Joseph Stalin, assim como outras personalidades culturais.

Batum takes as its starting point the experience of near drowning in the Black Sea of Batumi, Georgia. As such, the film is induced with a desire for an autoethnographic self-interrogation. Images that feature in the film are a constellation of personal and prosthetic memories, acquired through historical and cultural knowledge as exemplified by the poems of Osip Mandelstam and Joseph Stalin, among other cultural tropes.

Contudo, o cheiro de pretzels acabados de fazer levou-a à Alemanha. Saltou para o mundo das artes em Brunswick, Alemanha, contudo afastou-se e mergulhou no oceano da matemática em Berlim. Mas logo à superfície apercebeu-se que quanto mais fundo mergulhava, mais sombrio tudo se tornava. Com medo de acabar em monotonia no Quadrado Negro, decidiu fazer uma volta de 180 graus. Na volta de retorno deparou-se com um cardume. Os peixes eram tão coloridos e moviam-se de maneira tão elegante que ela viu-se obrigada a nadar atrás deles. Assim, tentou reter todas as cores vibrantes e a sua graciosa plasticidade. Quando retirou a atenção dos peixes deu por si na Animationinstitut na Filmakademie Baen-Wuerttember. Até aos dias de hoje nada feliz com o enxame de animação... Isso é, se ela não estiver em Paris à procura de outros peixes. BEAST International Film Festival 2017

IRINA RUBINA The swirl of life brought Irina Rubina to this world as a Muscovite. But the smell of fresh pretzels drew her to Germany. She jumped into art in Brunswick, Germany, then pushed off and dove into the mathematical ocean in Berlin. But beneath the surface she realized that the deeper she delved, the darker it became. She was afraid to end up in the Black Square, so she decided to make another 180-degree turn. On the way back she came across a school of fish. It was so colorful and had moved so elegantly that she simply had to swim behind it. She tried to retain its bright colors and graceful plasticity. When she turned her eyes away from the fish, she found herself in the Animationinstitut at the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg. And till this day she swims happily with her animation swarm there… If she is not in Paris looking for other fish…

ROBERTO SANTAGUIDA Desde a conclusão dos seus estudos em produção de filmes na Universidade de Concordia em Montreal, os filmes e vídeos de Roberto Santaguida foram exibidos em mais de 250 festivais internacionais por todo o mundo. Esteve ainda em residências de artistas em vários países, incluindo os Estados Unidos, Roménia, Alemanha, Noruega e Austrália. Recebeu o Prémio K.M. Hunter Artist e uma bolsa da Akademie Schloss Solitude na Alemanha.

ROBERTO SANTAGUIDA Since completing his studies in film production at Montreal’s Concordia University, Roberto Santaguida’s films and videos have been shown at more than 250 international festivals around the world. He has also taken part in artist residencies in numerous countries, including the United States, Romania, Germany, Norway and Australia. He is the recipient of the K.M. Hunter Artist Award and a fellowship from Akademie Schloss Solitude in Germany.

Quando a Jugoslávia começa a desmoronar-se, o regime sérvio proíbe os albaneses kosovares de participarem na vida pública. Empregados albaneses são despedidos, os meios de comunicação albaneses são encerrados, várias escolas básicas e secundárias ficam interditas a alunos albaneses e o sistema universitário é encerrado. Contudo, uma organização decide assumir uma posição, que acaba por se destacar na àrea da educação. Durante os anos 90 no Kosovo, leccionava-se em apartamentos privados, casas, caves. Este documentário mostra como é que uma sociedade paralela estava organizada com a realidade. Além disso, demonstra também como é que segregação e a apartheid passaram a ser norma.

When ex-YU began to fall apart, the Serbian regime banned Kosovar Albanians from participating in public life. Albanian employees across public institutions were fired; Albanian media outlets were closed down; many elementary and high schools were closed to Albanian students; the entire university system was shut down. But a selforganization took place, and it was mostly evident within the education sector. During the 1990s in Kosovo, teaching resumed in private apartments, houses, basements stores. This documentary shows how a parallel society, and reality, was organized. It shows how segregation and apartheid became the norm.

MATHIEU JOUFFRE Também conhecido como Matko Bulent é cineasta, concluiu os seus estudos na escola de artes visuais em Lyon. Realizou e colaborou em diversas curtas e documentários para cinema e televisão, entre a França e os Balcãs. Há uma década que anda a viajar pela região, encontrandose actualmente a viver no Kosovo. 69

MATHIEU JOUFFRE (aka Matko Bulent) is a filmmaker, graduating from the visual art school of Lyon. He has made and collaborated on many short movies and documentaries for cinema and television, between France and the Balkans. Ainda considero isso.” No ambiente familiar do seu quotidiano, falam sobre coisas que lhes são importantes, experiências que os fizeram mudar, o primeiro amor e perda, esperanças e medos. Treze adolescentes de uma escola em Donbass, a qual foi destruída durante a guerra na Ucrânia e posteriormente reconstruída, partilham o seu íntimo em frente à câmara.

‘ A year ago I learned that life is unfair. And I still think that.’ In the familiar surroundings of their everyday lives, they talk about things that matter to them, about experiences that move them, about first love and loss, hopes and fears. 13 adolescents from a school in Donbass, which was destroyed during the war in Ukraine, and subsequently rebuilt, share themselves in front of the camera.

YELIZAVETA SMITH nasceu em Odessa, na Ucrânia em 1990. Ela licenciou-se em direção de filme através da Universidade Nacional de Teatro, Cinema e Televisão de Kiev em 2014. As suas curtasmetragens foram exibidas em vários festivais ucranianos e ela participou em workshops internacionais e projetos. GEORG GENOUX nasceu em Hamburgo, na Alemanha em 1976. Ele é um diretor, curador e um dos co-fundadores do projeto de documentário de teatro teatr.doc e do Teatro Joseph Beuys em Moscovo. YELIZAVETA SMITH Born in Odessa, Ukraine in 1990, she graduated with a degree in film directing from the Kiev National Theatre, Cinema and Television University in 2014. Her short films have screened at several Ukrainian festivals and she has participated in international workshops and projects. GEORG GENOUX Born in Hamburg, Germany in 1976, he is a director, curator and one of the cofounders of the documentary theatre project teatr.doc and of the Joseph Beuys Theatre in Moscow. Since 2003 he has staged and produced more than 80 theatre projects in Eastern Europe. 70

O Mistério de Green Hill

The Mystery of Green Hill Koko e seus amigos passam as férias de verão nas margens de um lago perto do idílico Green Hill, passeando e brincando. Uma paisagem mágica é perturbada por eventos incomuns que alarmam as crianças, assim como as pessoas locais: coberto da noite, os assaltantes invadem uma casa atrás da outra, roubando tudo de valioso que encontram. Quando a polícia faz vista grossa para denúncias de adultos, as crianças decidem tomar as rédeas da situação nas suas próprias mãos e desmascarar os assaltantes.

Koko and his friends are spending the summer vacation on the shores of a lake near the idyllic Green Hill, hanging out and playing. The magical countryside is disturbed by unusual events which alarm the children as well as the locals: under cover of night, burglars break into one house after another, stealing anything valuable they can find. When the police turns a blind eye to denunciations by adults, the children decide to take matters into their own hands and unmask the burglars.

CEJEN CERNIC formou-se em cinema e realização de TV pela Academia de Arte Dramática em Zagreb. Dirigiu uma série de curtasmetragens, as mais conceituadas são a “Followers” e pequenos documentários como os “The Circle”, “To Me Without Me” e “Il Postino”. Desde 2007, tem trabalhado como assessora de direção em filmes e séries, documentários e filmes de animação e como colaboradora em performances de dança. “The Girl Who Loved Fairy-Tales” é a sua primeira curtametragem de animação. CEJEN CERNIC has graduated in film and TV directing from the Academy of Dramatic Art, in Zagreb. She has directed a number of short films, the most distinguished ones are short feature “Followers” and short documentaries “The Circle”, “To Me Without Me” and “Il Postino”. Since 2007, she has been working as an assistant director on feature films and series, documentaries and animated films and as a collaborator on dance performances. “The Girl Who Loved FairyTales” is her first short animated film.
