INTRODUCTION: MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER This induction book is designed to help you through your first few weeks at The Beaconsfield School and has four sections:

The booklet has been designed so that you can work through it on your own, with your mentor/line manager /coach to support you. You should complete it by the end of your first half term in the school.

In addition, you should have a copy of the annual school plan which sets out how we intend to meet our aims in the current year. The staff intranet provides a wealth of information including policies, school organisation, staff lists, calendars, directed meeting times and dates, duty rotas as well as the policies for staff development including induction, behaviour management etc. Your line manager will tell you how to access this information through the school Website.

At the end of your induction period, when you meet with your line manager or mentor to discuss your induction, please evaluate how helpful you found this booklet, initial induction sessions and support programmes to the school’s Business Manager, within four weeks of joining the school.
