uring a recordbreaking heatwave in California, President Joe Biden released a state ment supporting California’s Agricultural Labor Relations Voting Choice Act (AB 2183). The president’s state ment was tactfully released on Labor Day, bringing national attention to the work California farmwork ers performed throughout the “Farmworkerspandemic. worked tirelessly and at great personal risk to keep food on America’s tables during the pandemic. In the state with the largest population of farm workers, the least we owe them is an easier path to make a free and fair choice to organize a union,” Biden said.
Peace Over Violence told the station, in part, "We do not inflate the call numbers and we count accurately all the calls that are received on the Off Limits hotline. According to our contract, all calls coming into the hotline are legitimate. ... We cannot put a price tag on serving a survivor of violence and there are no quotas associated with our hotlines. We are there to serve the people that call 24/7. This is not a fee-per-survivor service. Metro is paying for the program, not per survivor."
The affidavit contends that evidence gathered by the search warrants "may prove that there was a `corrupt agreement' between Kuehl and Giggans to award and receive the sole source contracts in return for campaign donations, political power and continued oppor tunities to enrich each other in a variety of ways."

ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PASADENA ADDING A NEW CHAPTER 9.78 TO TITLE 9 OF THE PASADENA MUNICIPAL CODE ENTITLED “UNSERIALIZED FIREARMS”
PURSUANT to the California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”) and its implementing guidelines, the proposed ordinance is exempt under CEQA Regulation §15061(b)(3)’s “general rule” that CEQA only applies to project that have the potential for caus ing a significant effect on the environment. Here, it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that this item, in and of it self, will have a significant effect on the environment. The proposed ordinance involves a policy action that is administrative in nature, related to the requirements for affordability for potential land devel opment in the future, to implement Housing Element Program 15. Therefore, it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that this project may have a significant effect on the environment and is not subject to CEQA. Further, the proposed ordinance does not commit the City to any specific project that may result in a po tentially significant physical impact on the environment and projects proposed under this ordinance would undergo discrete environmen tal review on a case-by-case basis.
