Nury Martinez resigns from LA City Council over leaked recording of racist conversation

Los Angeles City Council woman Nury Martinez resigned her council seat Wednesday, days after the release of a recorded conver sation from 2021 in which she made a series of racist comments.

"It is with a broken heart that I resign my seat for Council District 6, the community I grew up in and my home," Martinez said in a written statement Wednesday afternoon.

Her lengthy statement made no direct reference to the recording that likely ended her political career, although she said, "To my staff -- I'm sorry that we're ending it this way. This is no reflection on you. I know you all will continue to do great work and fight for our district. I'll be cheering you on."

In a statement moments after Martinez's announce ment, Acting Council Presi dent Mitch O'Farrell said Martinez's resignation is the "first, necessary step in the process" of accountability.

Martinez stepped down as council president on Monday, following the weekend release of the recorded conversation in which she made racist comments aimed at Coun cilman Mike Bonin's 2-yearold Black adopted son and at other ethnic groups while

the group discussed the politically sensitive process of redrawing council district boundaries.

The recorded conversa tion was leaked, appear ing on Reddit before being removed from the site. City News Service reviewed the conversation, but it was unclear who was respon sible for the recording and its leak. The meeting apparently occurred at a Federation of Labor office, and the federa tion is investigating its source.

Martinez issued a statement Monday announcing her decision to surrender the council presidency, and apologizing to Bonin, his husband Sean Arian and their son.

With Martinez stepping down from her leadership role, O'Farrell, the council president pro tempore, was elevated to interim council president. He has repeat edly called for Martinez, Kevin de León and Gil Cedillo -- all of whom took part in the recorded conversation -- to resign their council seats.

"There is no other way forward," O'Farrell said.

Following Martinez's resignation Wednesday, fellow Councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson wrote on Twitter: "Gil and Kevin follow

On Tuesday, White House press secre tary Karine Jean-Pierre said President Joe Biden also wanted all three council members to resign, follow ing the lead of now-former Los Angeles County Federa tion of Labor President Ron Herrera, who also took part in the 2021 conversation and resigned from his post Monday night.

"The president is glad to see one of the participants in that conversation has resigned, but they all should," Jean-Pierre said Tuesday. "He believes that they all should resign."

De León and Cedillo have not yet resigned their seats. O'Farrell said at a news briefing Wednesday before Martinez's resignation

that he advised both de León and Cedillo to not come to the Council Chamber Wednesday for the coun cil's scheduled meeting, and

O'Farrell's briefing came after he was forced to adjourn the council meeting, with protesters chanting and shouting in the chamber for Martinez, De León and Cedillo to resign.

O'Farrell called several recesses in hopes of quieting the crowd before the meeting could begin. But the protesters refused to

an hour, announced that the meeting was being adjourned, with all items on the agenda postponed until Friday's scheduled meeting.

O'Farrell told report ers afterward that he was prepared to wait as long as it took to hold the meeting, but he said the council lost a quorum at 11 a.m. when Councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson left the chamber. A representa tive for Harris-Dawson told City News Service that Harris-Dawson left because O'Farrell had "lost control of the meeting."

O'Farrell again called on the council members involved in the recorded

conversation to resign, calling it "personally and professionally frustrat ing" that they have yet to do so. O'Farrell said it will be nearly impossible for the council to conduct its business until they resign.

"It's holding us up from moving forward," he said. "The emotions are only going to flare up more and more and more. This is not going to calm down. It's at a boiling point. It's boiling over."

O'Farrell said he gave the protesters the benefit of the doubt Wednesday, but noted that council meetings need to resume "at some point very, very soon."

"This is a time unprece dented in the city's history in terms of the dynamics at play," O'Farrell said. "We need to take this one moment at a time."

Michael Hunt, one of the protesters who showed up Wednesday, said activ ists plan on returning to disrupt meetings until the council members resign.

"People want the City Council to do the work of the people, not the work of name-calling," Hunt said.

Calls for resignations have been almost univer sal among city, state and federal elected officials -including from Biden, who was due to arrive in Los Angeles later Wednesday for a two-day visit.

Both Los Angeles mayoral candidates in next month's election -developer Rick Caruso and Rep. Karen Bass, D-Los Angeles -- have also called on the three to give up their seats.

Martinez, 49, had served on the council since 2013 representing the 6th District in the San Fernando Valley. She was just the second Latina to serve on the council and was the only female member of the council when she won election. Six years later, she became the first Latina to become council president when she was elected in 2019,

replacing long-time Presi dent Herb Wesson.

Prior to joining the council, Martinez served on the San Fernando City Council from 2003 to 2009 and on the Los Angeles Unified School District Board from 2009 to 2013.

Martinez's term runs through 2024. It was not immediately clear if the council would call a special election to fill her seat.

De León, 55, has been on the council since 2020 and made an unsuccessful run for mayor this year. He previous ly served in the state Senate and Assembly. Cedillo, 68, has been in office since 2013 but lost his bid for re-elec tion this year. His term will expire in December, and he will be replaced by Eunisses Hernandez.

Among other comments in the recorded conversation, Martinez belittled Bonin, who is white and openly gay, and criticized his adopted Black son for his behavior at a Martin Luther King Day parade, saying the boy was misbehaving on a float, which might have tipped over if she and other women hadn't stepped in to "parent this kid."

"They're raising him like a little white kid," Martinez said. "I was like, ‘This kid needs a beatdown. Let me take him around the corner and then I'll bring him back."'

Martinez also called the child "ese changuito," Spanish for "that little monkey."

De León also criticized Bonin. "Mike Bonin won't f---ing ever say peep about Latinos. He'll never say a f---ing word about us," he said.

De León also compared Bonin's handling of his son at the MLK Parade to "when Nury brings her little yard bag or the Louis Vuitton bag."

"Su negrito, like on the side," Martinez added, using a Spanish term for a Black person that's considered demeaning by many.

At another point in the leaked conversation, Martinez recalls a conver sation with businessman Danny Bakewell about possibly transferring Los

Nury Martinez

Angeles International Airport out of Bonin's Council District and into that of Harris-Dawson.

Martinez said she told Bakewell to "go get the airport from his little brother -- that little bitch Bonin."

On the subject of Coun cilman Mark Ridley-Thomas' suspension amid an indict ment on federal corrup tion charges, Martinez said Controller Ron Galperin would decide whether Ridley-Thomas still gets paid.

"You need to go talk to that white guy," she says. "It's not us. It's the white members on this Council that will motherf--- you in a heartbeat."

Martinez also took aim at Los Angeles County District George Gascón in profane terms, after the group appeared to discuss whether Gascón would endorse Cedillo in his re-election campaign against Hernandez.

"F--- that guy. (inaudi ble) ... He's with the Blacks," she said of Gascón.

Gascón issued a state ment late Sunday saying he was "saddened and disap pointed" in the comments.

"I share the outrage of council member Bonin as well as all members of the African-American commu nity. Anti-Blackness has no place in Los Angeles," he

said.

Martinez, de León, Herrera and Cedillo apolo gized separately on Sunday for their roles in the conversation.

"In a moment of intense frustration and anger, I let the situation get the best of me and I hold myself accountable for these comments. For that I am sorry," Martinez said in a statement provided to CNS on Sunday.

"The context of this conversation was concern over the redistricting process and concern about the potential negative impact it might have on communities of color. My work speaks for itself. I've worked hard to lead this city through its most diffi cult time."

De León said: "There were comments made in the context of this meeting that are wholly inappropriate, and I regret appearing to condone and even contribute to certain insensitive comments made about a colleague and his family in private. I've reached out to that colleague personally," he said.

"On that day, I fell short of the expectations we set for our leaders -- and I will hold myself to a higher standard."

Herrera's state

ment said: "The calls for accountability are loud clear and deserved. I recog nize that the community and our affiliates deserved an apology earlier and I am sorry this has not been the case. I had to face my family and granddaughters personally and apologize to them for my failure to stand up to racist and anti-Black remarks in that immediate moment. I failed them in the moment and for that I hold the deepest regret.

"And now, I apologize to all of you, Mike Bonin and his family, the affiliates and community members, specifically those in the Black and Oaxacan community. There is no justification and no excuse for the vile remarks made in that room. Period. And I didn't step up to stop them and I will have to bear the burden of that cross moving forward," Herrera said. "I will do better and I hope that all of you can find it in your hearts to forgive me."

Cedillo issued a state ment saying, "I want to start by apologizing. While I did not engage in the conversation in question, I was present at times during this meeting last year. It is my instinct to hold others accountable when they use derogatory or racially divisive language. Clearly,

I should have intervened. I failed in holding others and myself to the highest standard. The hurtful and harmful remarks made about my colleague's son were simply unacceptable. We choose public life, but our families should always be off limits and never part of the political discourse."

Bonin and Arian tweeted a lengthy state ment from the family Sunday calling for the council to remove Martinez as president and for her and de León to resign their seats entirely.

"We love our son, a beautiful, joyful child, and our family is hurting today," the statement continued. "No child should ever be subjected to such racist, mean and dehumanizing comments, especially from a public official. It is painful to know he will someday read these comments.

"We are equally angry and disgusted by the ugly racist comments about our son from Kevin de León and Ron Herrera, who should also resign their posts, and by the tacit acceptance of those remarks from Gil Cedillo. It hurts that one of our son's earliest encoun ters with overt racism comes from some of the most powerful public offi cials in Los Angeles."

For 100 years, Pasadena City College has provided high-quality, affordable college education and career training for resi dents of all ages – includ ing thousands of graduates from Arcadia High.

With the rising cost of four-year colleges, many more students are turning to community college for higher education – at a fraction of the cost of Cal State, University of Califor nia (UC), and private univer sities.

Each year, local high school graduates ready for the next step in their educational journeys from throughout our region come to Pasadena City College to pursue their higher educa tion or career training goals. They come because they know that a PCC education opens doors, particularly as PCC continues to have the number one transfer rate to Cal State and UC among all community colleges in California.

Measure PCC is a community college facilities improvement bond measure on the ballot that will provide locally controlled funding for Pasadena City College to upgrade aging classrooms, labs, and job training facilities to maintain affordable, highquality education for all our students.

Continuing to provide affordable access to higher education and job training requires up-to-date class rooms, labs, and technol ogy to meet the growing

Most of PCC’s facilities were built over 50 years ago and are due for repairs and upgrades to meet the needs of our campus community. In addition to making basic repairs such as fixing leaky roofs, replacing old rusty plumbing, and faulty elec trical systems, there is a clear need to upgrade class rooms, instructional tech nology, and career training facilities to better prepare students for in-demand jobs in science, healthcare, nursing, engineering and skilled trades.

Monrovia Old Town Report: You, you, you autumn know…

Icouldn’t resist a punny little Alanis Moris sette moment. What can I say? I’m just gratefall there’s no live audience. Ok, that was the last one, I promise! I’m writing this on a Monday. I’m not all the way with it. The green tea isn’t hitting like the Ameri cano’s used to. I’m a little on the loopy side, but I’m also excited about all of the fall festivities that are coming up in Old Town.

I’m usually not a fan of fall because I am so very sick of everything in pumpkin spice flavor or scent. I do love the weather turning crisper and cooler. I don’t care what anyone says… we have seasons. Our trees change colors. Our sunsets get extra special. We start digging out our Thanksgiv ing pants. You know… the ones with the elastic waist band. It truly is a wonder ful time of year. Until you go to the store and there are pumpkin spice Oreos, waffles, tea, coffee, beer. Yes! BEER. Gross.

The list is endless and I am completely over this awful trend. I would much prefer we go back to the truffle craze of 2010, or even the birria taco trend that fattened us all up over COVID. Part of what is wonderful about pumpkin bread and pie is that you only get those two

things once a year. Join the resistance. Say no to the pumpkin spice deluge. Feel free to fall-ow me for more tips on anything foodie.

As stated, fall officially arrived on Sept. 22. To ring in the season of being thankful and showing our gratitude for all our blessings, please join your community at the Fall Festival. It takes place this Saturday, Oct. 15, from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. It will be a day full of family fun for everyone! I suggest you time your day around break fast or lunch at one of Old Town’s wonderful restau rants. Then, take advantage of the adorable haystack and scarecrow photo opportuni ties that are stationed about town.

For $2, you and the fam can enjoy hayrides and a “trackless” train ride. There will be free arts and crafts activities stationed through out Old Town and in Library Park. I also have it on good authority that Merengue will have adorable fall face painting.

Stop by the Pumpkin Patch outside of Charlie’s House because they are collaborating with Prime Lending on a super cute pumpkin decorating booth. Mark Houston Associ ates will have a Fall and Halloween-themed tempo rary tattoo parlor and “bar.”

Please note: You MUST BE 21

AND UNDER to partake.

We have awesome merchants in town. I know I don’t have a complete list of whom is offering what, but fun awaits you on every block, that’s for sure!

But wait! There’s more. There will also be merchant sales and specials, but the pièce de resistance just might be the pet costume parade at 12:30 p.m.! Not just dogs. PETS. Think outside the box, people! This is a huge oppor tunity. Seriously, we have all seen a wiener dog in a bun. I’m just saying this could be a lot of fun. Do not let me down, Monrovia.

All activities are first come, first served so no need to make a reservation. Rumor has it that yours truly will be working the tattoo booth, so I can’t wait to see you and your kiddos!

Stay tuned for more info on Halloween activities, the Thankful & Grateful Tree lighting ceremony and, of course, the Holiday Parade! Remember to hug your family, snuggle your pets and call your distant loved ones. Take this time to reflect and truly be thankful. If it seems like you don’t have much, I’m certain you can still find a lot to be thankful for.

Career Corner: Maintaining social connections while working from home

Send your letters to tmiller@beaconmedianews.com - Please be brief.

told him that the club had to reject his application because of its policy against admitting Jews. Groucho then asked:

A popular adage says: “When the going gets tough, the tough get going.” Some folks, however, find humor a wiser choice when the going gets tough.

Here is an example: When Groucho Marx set out to join a swimming club, the manager

“Well then, how about my son? He’s only half Jewish, so can he go in the water up to his waist?”

Following Groucho’s example, I fantasize that if I were a Black parent in Monrovia back when

“children of color were only allowed one or two swim days

per week” at its municipal swimming pool, this is what I’d say to the pool administra tor: “We all know that many of our female ancestors were made pregnant when their White masters raped them. So, since Whites too are our ancestors, and their blood flows through our veins, can our children get more swim days?

As I've shared before, I'm a fan of working from home. Although it comes with pros and cons, the benefits are often unde

niable. Those working from home are often able to be more productive. They have the ability to get more done in less time. They don't waste hours each day in the car commuting. They are able to focus on what matters the most – working. And, they have more time left to devote to their families.

On the flip side, if you're working from home, you have to try harder to make real connections with your coworkers. It's easy to know very little about the people you're working with. You are less likely to know about their families or hobbies, for example. Although these details aren't related to work, knowing coworkers well can increase teamwork and therefore productivity.

Personally, there's another hurdle too. Working in person creates more opportunity for social connection. When you work in an office, you're more likely to have lunch with

coworkers. You're more likely to celebrate birthdays and holidays. Work is more than just work. It's a place to make friends. It's a place to social ize.

One downside to working from home is that people feel lonelier. They feel disconnected. The social aspects of working in an office are gone. If you're working from home, this is something to be aware of. Very likely, you will want to try to make more time for social connection outside of work than you did before. Making friends as an adult isn't an easy task, but it's important.

If you're like most people, starting to make new friends is the hardest part. It's hard to know where to begin. Think about your hobbies, and interests. Are there things you wish you knew more about? From cooking to bowling to running, there are many different types of groups for different inter ests.

Meetup.com can be a great resource. Meetup has many special interest groups that you can join with little

obligation. Look for events on the website of your local newspaper. You can also search Eventbrite for paid events that may be happen ing in your area. If you find groups that are of interest that are not on one of these sites, send them an email and ask to be added to their newsletter. Most groups send out weekly or monthly notices of upcoming activi ties.

When you find fun things to do, be brave. Try to attend a few different activities. If you can, attend alone. Many people do this. Going alone will encourage you to talk to people you haven't met before.

Just one social activity per week can greatly change your social connected ness. Suddenly, you'll find yourself with friends and social events. The happier you feel, the better you'll do at work. And, very often, being socially connected can help you find a future job.

Notice of Preparation of an Environmental Impact Report and Environmental Scoping Meeting for The Derby Mixed-Use Project

Public Comment Period: October 14, 2022 through November 14, 2022

Public Scoping Meeting: October 26, 2022 at 6:00 PM

Pursuant to Section 21165 of the California Public Resources Code and Section 15050 of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines, the City of Arcadia (City) is the Lead Agency for the preparation of an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for The Derby Mixed-Use Project (Project). In accordance with CEQA Guidelines Section 15082, the City has prepared this Notice of Prep aration (NOP) to provide responsible and trustee agencies, the Of fice of Planning and Research, and the County Clerk with sufficient information describing the Project and its potential environmental effects to enable the responsible agencies to make a meaningful response to this NOP.

City Project No.: Architectural Design Review No. ADR 22-06 with a Density Bonus, Certificate of Demolition No. COD 22-20, General Plan Amendment No. GPA 22-01, Lot Line Adjustment LLA No. 2202, Minor Use Permit MUP No. 22-02, and Zone Change No. ZC 22-01

The City is requesting your specific and detailed input regarding the scope and content of the environmental information related to your agency’s statutory responsibility that must be included in the Draft EIR. Pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15083, this NOP also serves to facilitate consultation with any persons or organizations that may be concerned with the environmental effects of the Proj ect. Additionally, this NOP serves as a notice for the public Scop ing Meeting, which is held to expedite and facilitate the consultation process. Because the City has already determined that an EIR is required for the proposed Project, as permitted by CEQA Guide lines Section 15060(d), the City will not prepare an Initial Study, but instead will begin work directly on the Draft EIR. A copy of the NOP is available for download on the City’s website at: www.arcadiaca. gov/projects. A print copy of this notice is also available for public review at each of the following City locations through November 14, 2022: Arcadia City Hall (Planning Division), 240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia, CA 91007; and Arcadia Public Library (Circulation Desk), 20 West Duarte Road, Arcadia, CA 91006. City Hall is open Monday–Thursday: 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. and Friday (Closed alter nate Fridays): 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Arcadia Library is open Monday–Thursday: 10:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday: 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

Project Description Overview. The 2.23-acre Project site currently consists of two structures, including The Derby, which is an oc cupied two-story restaurant at 233 East Huntington Drive; and a vacant one-story restaurant building at 301 East Huntington Drive that was previously occupied by the Souplantation restaurant. The existing buildings and surface parking lots on the Project site would be demolished to accommodate the proposed Project, which would construct The Derby as a larger, 12,850 square-foot, two-story res taurant as part of a new, six-story mixed-use development, including 214 for-rent dwelling units (9 of which would be affordable units), a 3,300 square-foot complementary restaurant space, and a 1,400 square-foot café space. The Derby restaurant was evaluated by an architectural historian and is not considered a historical resource for the purposes of CEQA. The Derby restaurant would be designed to retain many of restaurant’s most recognizable design elements while adding new elements such as an indoor-outdoor second story bar and dining area. The Project would provide a total of 414 park ing spaces consisting of 241 residential and 173 commercial/valet spaces, as well as motorcycle spaces and bicycle parking.

Public Scoping Meeting. A public scoping meeting will be held to share information regarding the proposed Project and the CEQA environmental review process. The purpose of the meeting is to fa cilitate information sharing and to solicit written comments about the scope and content of the environmental analysis to be addressed in the Draft EIR. The Project’s Scoping Meeting will be held at the Gilb Museum of Arcadia Heritage (Museum Education Center), 380 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia, CA 91007, on October 26, 2022, at 6:00 PM.

Community leader Eileen Wang: A strong voice for Arcadia City Council

Hello my fellow Arcadi ans,

I am Eileen Wang, a longtime Arcadia resident, community leader and educator, and I’m running for Arcadia’s City Council District 3 to bring a stronger voice to the public concerns I’ve seen and heard over my 17 years of community service.

I have been deeply involved as a leader in various city and service groups, including: the Arcadia Rotary Club, the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce, Arcadia Lions Club, Arcadia Association of Realtors and the Arcadia High School Chinese Parents Booster Club.

I have also worked with local police and fire agencies, and organized

cultural events such as “U.S. Heroes Music and Art Festival” for the last two years. Working with the city’s public safety agencies has given me insight into the concerns and problems they face as well.

My passion is educa tion. I have been the owner of Tutorial Services in Arcadia the last 14 years. Education is so important for individuals and the community. I’m a mother of two, a college student and Arcadia High student.

I am also a member of the National College Admis sion & Counseling Asso ciation.

I have experience in community service and that’s where it starts. From the ground roots we

can help make change. We need to involve more citizens.

I will bring a strong

voice to the City Council on community issues, and bring more financial responsibility and trans

parency to the city budget.

I would like to ask for support on Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 11. If you

would like to speak to me please call (626) 949-5905.

Disneyland, California Adventure just became more expensive

The cost of visiting Disney's Anaheim theme parks increased again Tuesday, Disney officials confirmed.

The price of a one-day ticket now ranges from $104 to $179, based on the day. Days are separated into seven "tiers," with all but the cheapest tiers increasing in price as of Tuesday.

The increases break

down as follows:

-- Tier 1: goes from $104 to $114;

-- Tier 2: goes from $119 to $129;

-- Tier 3: goes from $134 to $144;

-- Tier 4: goes from $149 to $159;

-- Tier 5: goes from $159 to $169; and

-- Tier 6: goes from $164 to $179.

"Park Hopper" tickets,

which allow guests to visit Disneyland and California Adventure on the same day, also cost more, with the following increases now in effect:

-- Tier 1: goes from $164 to $179;

-- Tier 2: goes from $179 to $194;

-- Tier 3: goes from $194 to $209;

-- Tier 4: goes from $209 to $224;

-- Tier 5: goes from $219 to $234; and

-- Tier 6: goes from $224 to $244.

The least expensive park-hopper ticket will be $169, a new tier.

The cost of multi-day tickets also increased between 9.21% and 11.76%.

The Genie+ pass, which allows guests to bypass the general queue for certain attractions, increased from

$20 to $25 when purchased in advance.

Standard parking will still cost $30, but preferred parking in locations closer to trams increased from $45 to $50.

"Disneyland Resort is always planning the next new idea, attraction, and story," a Disneyland official said in a statement. `Our tiered ticketing structure offers guests different

options to experience that magic throughout the year, including our lowest price point -- which hasn't changed since 2019.

The lowest one-day ticket cost remains $104 for admittance to Disneyland, but that price is only avail able on a small number of days per year.

Disney also raised its theme park prices on October of 2021.

Long Beach Ballet’s ‘The Nutcracker’ returns for 6 performances this December

Now in its 40th year, the Long Beach Ballet’s beloved production of “The Nutcracker” returns this December for six perfor mances at the Terrace Theater at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center.

In 2018 and 2019, Goldstar audiences voted Long Beach

Ballet’s “The Nutcracker'' as the “best-loved” production in the nation and Artistic Director David Wilcox is pulling out all the stops to maintain that reputation.

“I like using the beauty of the classical art form of ballet, which has taken 500 years to develop to the level

that it is today, to form a production that’s enticing and exciting. It has pyro technics, it has magic; it’s got everything I can think of to make it thrilling. This production is not just for people who like ballet. You can hate ballet and you’ll still like this production,”

says Wilcox.

The Long Beach Ballet is one of the only ballet compa nies in Southern California to perform “The Nutcracker” with a full symphony orches tra. The production also boasts a flying sleigh, a real live horse, on-stage pyro technics, a cast of over 250,

special effects designed by magician Franz Harary, and special guest performances.

This year’s produc tion will feature Seth Orza, former principal dancer with the Pacific Northwest Ballet, as the Nutcracker Prince, and Megan Wilcox, formerly with the world renowned Dresden

Ballet, as the Sugarplum Fairy.

The six performances are slated for Dec. 16-18 and 22-23. Tickets go on sale to the general public Oct. 17 and range in price from $32 to $85. For complete infor mation, visit LongBeach Nutcracker.com.

We rely on the support of our loyal donors, members, and community, and we are so grateful for their gener osity,” says Ryan Ashton, Aquarium of the Pacific vice president of development.

9. Permits, Inspections, Plan Checks, Governmental Approvals, Utility Fees and Similar Authorizations: The following City permits may be required for this project and are the Contractor’s responsibility to obtain and pay all related fees: Street Use Permit for large deliveries or activities that require parking lane closure

The rates determined by the California Director of Industrial Relations are available online at www.dir.ca.gov/DLSR/PWD/.
