RESEDA MOTHER ADMITS TO DROWNING HER 3 CHILDREN “I prefer them not being tortured and abused on a regular basis for the rest of their lives,” she said
BY CITY NEWS SERVICE
T
he woman suspected of killing her three children in a Reseda apartment has admitted to causing their deaths. “I drowned them,” Lilliana Carrillo said in a jailhouse interview Thursday with Bakersfield TV station KGET. Carrillo said she killed the children, ages 3, 2 and 6 months, to protect them from their father, who she claimed was involved in human trafficking. She said she wished her children were still alive, then added “I prefer them not being tortured and abused on a regular basis for the rest of their lives.” Carrillo said she hugged and kissed her children, whom she identified as
Joanna Maria, 3; Terry Joseph, 2; and Sierra Sequoia, 5 months, and was apologizing “the whole time.” She said her final message to her children was “I love you and I’m sorry.” The bodies of the three children were found about 9:30 a.m. Saturday in an apartment in the 8000 block of Reseda Boulevard, near Strathern Street, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Rosario Cervantes. In Tulare County, Carrillo accused the father of the children, Erik Denton, of being involved in a pedophile ring, prompting a police visit to their home, but no arrests were made, Denton said in court papers. Denton has denied the allegations. “I regret agreeing to go out with him,” Carrillo said
in the interview. In court papers filed in Tulare County, Denton claimed that Carrillo was “extremely paranoid,” and that she said she was solely responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic, had struggled with postpartum depression for years, expressed thoughts of suicide and self-medicated with marijuana. Carrillo said in the interview she stopped using marijuana in February and was completely sober when she killed her children. Denton had also reached out on numerous occasions to officials at the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services and the Los Angeles Police Department that Carrillo was a danger to the children, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Metrolink, LA County launch mobile COVID vaccination clinics BY CITY NEWS SERVICE
M
etrolink and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health are partnering to provide free mobile COVID-19 vaccination clinics beginning Tuesday at Metrolink’s Palmdale and Lancaster stations, with the ability to administer 250 inoculations at each site per day. Vaccinations will be available from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday via walk up or by pre-registering with vaccination provider RemediaCare, which will supply vaccines to anyone age 16 and older who lives or works in L.A. County,
in accordance with Public Health guidelines. ``Programs like these are critical to facilitating the vaccination rollout to neighborhoods where our most vulnerable populations reside throughout the county to reduce the impact of COVID-19,’’ said county Supervisor Kathryn Barger, who is a Metrolink board member. Metrolink riders can also receive free COVID-19 vaccinations at the Cal State Los Angeles super site that is easily accessible from the Cal State LA Metrolink station on the San Bernardino Line. Metrolink CEO Stephanie Wiggins said she was ``pleased to partner with the Los Angeles County Depart-
ment of Public Health on such an important endeavor and I thank the cities of Palmdale and Lancaster for helping launch these initial vaccination clinics to stop the coronavirus spread in those communities.’’ ``We hope to identify additional Metrolink station-based vaccination clinics in the coming weeks,’’ she said. Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris welcomed the development. ``Bringing COVID-19 vaccinations directly into a community is critical. We must protect our residents from this virus and ensure equitable distribution,” he said. Palmdale Mayor Steven D. Hofbauer agreed.
``Many Antelope Valley residents rely on public transit and with this collaborative effort, bringing these life-saving vaccines to the Palmdale Metrolink Station makes a significant positive impact on public health,’’ he said. For more information on vaccination sites located within a three-mile radius of its stations, visit Metrolink’s Vaccine Clinic Locator resource. Metrolink is the largest passenger rail agency in California and the third largest in the United States, operating seven lines along a 538-mile network that travels across Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties.
