he COVID-19 outbreak has been a confusing and deeply troubling time for Americans, but one thing has been glaringly clear: The U.S. is

behind when it comes to testing people for the coronavirus. Readily accessible testing, rigorous contact tracing, enhanced laboratory capacity, and data sharing are critical parts of preventing and containing the spread of COVID-19. In California and Nebraska, some

Alcohol can only be sold in the same transaction as a meal. “This virus is not going away anytime soon,” he said. “I hope all of us recognize that if we are still connected to some notion that somehow when it gets warm, it’s going to go away, or somehow it’s going to take summer months or weekends off, this virus has done neither. It’s incumbent on all of us to recognize, soberly, that COVID-19 is not going away anytime soon until there is a vaccine and/or an effective therapy.” Counties that have remained on the County Monitoring List for three consecutive days — including Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino and Orange counties — will be required to shut down the following indusSEE CLOSURES PAGE 12
