LA SHERIFF’S ARREST 4 GANG MEMBERS IN MURDER OF INNOCENT BYSTANDER Four gang members were arrested by Norwalk Station Deputies after hearing the description of the suspect vehicle involved in a double shooting, in the city of Artesia. Deputies patrolling the area of Cheshire Street in the city of Norwalk on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 9:44 P.M. spotted a parked vehicle matching the description in the call. The deputies contacted four male Hispanics surrounding the suspected vehicle and would later arrest all four after discovering evidence linking them and the vehicle to the earlier shootings. On the night of the shooting, four Hispanic male suspects had entered the city of Artesia in a blue, Chevrolet Impala sedan. They encountered a rival gang member, a Hispanic male adult, on the corner of 168th Street and Clarkdale Avenue. A verbal altercation ensued and gunshots were exchanged between both parties. The suspects in the vehicle fled the area,

Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Net 2 Arrests in Sexual Offender Registrationg Check Investigators from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Moreno Valley Station with the assistance of Moreno Valley Special Enforcement Unit, the Riverside County Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement Team, the Riverside County Probation Department, The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office and the United States Marshal Service conducted a compliance checks of registered sex offenders within the city of Moreno Valley. During this operation, 242 sex offenders were contacted by deputies and officers to verify compliance with all registration requirements as well as all terms and conditions of parole or probation.
The operation resulted in two arrests and ten additional cases being referred to the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office seeking prosecution. Those arrested during operation were Stephen Sliger, 52 years old of Moreno Valley and Lee Webber, 49 years old of Moreno Valley. Both Sliger and Webber were booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center. The Moreno Valley Police Department conducts random sexual offender compli-

SUPERVISORS SEEK APPLICANTS FOR BUILDING AND SAFETY APPEALS BOARD The Board of Supervisors is seeking individuals to serve on the County Building and Safety Appeals Board. “The mission of this board is important, and I urge anyone who feels they are qualified and who is interested in serving their community to apply,” said Board of Supervisors Chairman Curt Hagman. The Building and Safety Appeals Board is a technical review panel. It is charged with considering matters in which property owners and builders believe the County has incorrectly applied the Building Code during plan review, construction, or to an existing
building resulting in that building being declared substandard or unsafe. Applicants for this board should be familiar with construction and the California Building Code. The board has five seats plus three alternate positions. All members – regular and alternate – must have the knowledge, experience and training necessary to review and reach decisions on matters pertaining to building construction and applicable Building Codes, regulations and ordinances.
