Water Conservation Tax Relief Legislation Helps Keep California Out of Drought

ssemblymember Chris Holden introduced AB 533 which incentivizes participation in water efficiency and storm water runoff improvement programs. “Water conservation shouldn’t be taxed,” said Assemblymember Chris Holden. “We must do all we can to incentivize Californians to increase water efficiency in a state that is prone to chronic droughts.” Assembly Bill 533 exempts any rebates, vouchers, or other financial incentives issued by a local water agency or supplier for expenses incurred to participate in a water efficiency or storm water improvement program from state or corporate income tax. California currently has a patchwork of tax exemptions for different water conservation programs, including water efficient appliances and turf replacement, some of which are set to expire shortly. AB 533 will incentivize and encourage participation in water agency conservation programs designed to increase water use efficiency and improve storm water management throughout California. “California’s water shortage is

officers from the Moreno Valley Police Department responded to a hit and run traffic collision at the 22600 block of Cottonwood Avenue, in the city of Moreno Valley. The collision involved a vehicle striking a juvenile pedestrian. Officers from the Moreno Valley Traffic Reconstruction Team continued the investigation and located evidence

which led them to the 13400 block of Moreno Way in Moreno Valley. Members of the Traffic Reconstruction Team and the Special Enforcement Team set up surveillance and ultimately detained Arevalo Garcia Eleazar, age 33, leaving his residence. Minutes after Eleazar was detained, a search

A former accounting manager who is facing 10 wire fraud counts for allegedly embezzling more than $36 million from his employer’s client and then using the bulk of the ill-gotten funds to pay off tens of millions of dollars of his credit card debt has been extradited to the United States from Costa Rica. Paul McDaniel, 42, a.k.a. “Edward Martin Karuku,” who resided in the City of Orange before fleeing to Costa Rica in early 2017, arrived this afternoon in Los Angeles after extradition proceedings in Costa Rica.
