LOS ANGELES DA CHARGES MAN WITH CAPITAL MURDER
A
n Alhambra man charged with capital murder for allegedly shooting a 22-year-old man during a robbery last year in East Los Angeles is expected to be arraigned, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced. Abraham Caberea (dob 12/21/99) has been charged with one count of murder with a special circumstance allegation that he committed the crime during a robbery. The criminal complaint in case BA473894, which was filed on Dec. 26, also includes firearm allegations. Caberea, Wayne Andrew Seare (dob 2/11/98) of Montebello and Samantha Irene Castillo (dob 4/21/98) of East Los Angeles also face one felony count of seconddegree robbery with an allegation that a principal in the crime used a firearm. Seare additionally is charged with one felony count of accessory after the fact. The defendants are scheduled to be arraigned today in Department 30 of the Foltz Criminal Justice Center. CITY NATIONAL GROVE OF ANAHEIM CELEBRATES 20 YEARS OF LIVE ENTERTAINMENT City National Grove of Anaheim will kick-off the venue’s yearlong 20th-anniversary celebration on Friday, January 18th with multi-platinum selling rock band STYX. In 1999, Styx was the debut headliner at Anaheim's newest music venue, which aimed to blend contemporary acoustics with a hint of Art Deco elegance. Since then, the venue has hosted thousands of world-renowned artists, been a top-ranked venue
in the country, and one of Orange County’s must-play destinations. “It’s been two decades since we first performed at the City National Grove of Anaheim. RIVERSIDE ENCOURAGES PARTICIPATION IN HOMELESS POINT-IN-TIME COUNT The City of Riverside is encouraging its residents to volunteer for the 2019 Pointin-Time (PIT) Count, the annual countywide effort to document the number of homeless individuals living in the area. The effort helps ensure the area continues to qualify for federal funding, and the results inform decisions about how to reduce homelessness in the coming year. This year’s event is scheduled for 5:30 to 9:30
a.m. on January 29. After completing a training session on how to use a mobile application for the counting process and receiving safety guidelines, volunteers will be assigned an area in which to make contact with homeless individuals and record what they observe.
