Orange County Sheriff’s Arrests Man Accused of Cold-Case Rapes in 1990s Orange County Sheriff’s Department investigators arrested a man yesterday suspected of committing multiple rapes in the 1990s, including the kidnapping and rape of a 9-year-old girl in Lake Forest. The man was identified utilizing techniques similar to the methods used to identify the Golden State Killer. The man, Kevin Konther, 53, of Highland, Calif., was arrested yesterday at
his home on suspicion of kidnapping and raping at least two victims. The first victim, a 9-year-old girl, was walking home from a convenience store at 6:40 p.m. in Lake Forest on October 21, 1995, when a man grabbed the girl and pulled her into a wooded area inside Serrano Creek Park. The man raped her, and then released her. The girl ran home to report

Riverside County Sheriff’s Investigate Attempted Murder of a Peace Officer The Riverside County Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit was requested to investigate a Homicide and Officer Involved Shooting at 31033 Date Palm Dr., Cathedral City. A Cathedral City Police Officer arrived at a disturbance call to the rear of the Big 5 Sporting Goods. Upon arrival, the officer saw a male shoot a female in the parking lot, then began shooting at the arriving officer. An Officer Involved Shooting occurred, and the male suspect was struck by the officer’s gunfire.
Additional officers arrived and began medical aid for the female victim and male suspect. Emergency medical personnel arrived and continued medical aid. The female victim died at the scene and the suspect was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The involved officer sustained a minor injury, and there are no outstanding suspects or threats to public safety. The victim and suspect’s names will

Human Skeletal Remains Found In San Bernardino Desert Area A deputy from the Barstow Sheriff’s Station responded to the area of West Main Street and Mockingbird Street in Lenwood to meet with a land surveyor who had located what he believed to be human skeletal remains. Upon arrival, the reporting party took the deputy to the desert area near the location. The remains were confirmed to
be human. Detectives from the Specialized Investigations Division responded to the scene to conduct the investigation. Due to lighting conditions the scene was secured for the night. On Saturday, January 12th, homicide detectives, coroner investigators, and

he Glendora Police Department received a 9-1-1 call from a male subject threatening that he was on his way to 'shoot up" Citrus College. The Glendora Police Department treated the call as a credible threat. The Citrus College campus and surrounding streets were locked down at 11:28 AM. Mutual aid from surrounding law enforcement agencies was requested and the Foothills Special Enforcement Team, a regional SWAT team, was activated. Officers, detectives, and support personnel began investigating to identify a possible suspect, determine his location, and bring the incident to a safe conclusion, The suspect's vehicle was located in a campus parking lot at 11:39 AM
and based on the facts, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Bomb Squad was notified. A room-to-room search of campus began at 12:38 PM, The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Terrell Lee Bennett from Chino, surrendered peacefully and was taken into custody without further incident at 3:42 PM. He is an online student at Citrus College who was scheduled for an in-person class today. The lockdown was lifted at 5:58 PM and all students, faculty, and staff were safely evacuated and released.
