CALIFORNIA REPRESENTATIVE NAMED CHAIRMAN OF THE HOUSE PERMANENT SELECT COMMITTEE ON INTELLIGENCE

R

ep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) released the following statement after Speaker Nancy Pelosi named him as Chair of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence: “For four decades, the Intelligence Committees have occupied a unique place in the Congress and our democracy. Founded in the aftermath of the Church and Pike Committee hearings into the nation’s intelligence activities, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and its Senate counterpart, have acted as a steward for the Congress and the American people in carrying out oversight of the nation’s most sensitive intelligence programs. In exchange for the Intelligence Community’s willingness to reveal closely guarded national secrets to a select group of members and staff for the purposes of oversight, the committees and the congressional leadership pledged to handle that information responsibly and without regard to politics. That compact continues today. “It has been an honor to serve for the last decade on the Committee, and

Orange County Sheriff’s Start Anti-Bullying Campaign The Orange County Sheriff’s Department is committed to working with the community to stop bullying in its tracks. All children deserve and have the right to attend school in a safe environment free from bullying. To work towards and achieve this endeavor, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department is partnering with the 28 school district of the County of Orange

to provide information, resources and training for parents, children, teachers, and school staff. Orange County Sheriff School Resource Officers will continue their dedicated work in our schools while incorporating this new focus. Together, we will work toward eliminating bullying in our schools and build a positive environment for all to prosper.

Riverside Deputies Respond to Reports of ‘Shots Fired’ Deputies were dispatched to a report of shots fired in the area of the 6500 block of Frank Ave., Mira Loma. Upon arrival, deputies located a male suffering from gunshot wounds, and requested paramedics. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The crime scene was secured, and the Central

Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation. During the investigation, an additional male victim suffering from gunshot wounds arrived at another local hospital. Based on statements and evidence at the scene, the two gunshot wound victims were found to
