Anaheim is among 20-plus partners nationally to join with Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation to support the 21 Days to Be Kind Challenge in September. The challenge calls on everyone to practice an act of kindness on behalf of themselves or for others for each day from Sept. 1 to Sept. 21. “Kindness occurs every day in Anaheim,” MayorTom Tait said. “This challenge will help bring that everyday kindness into focus and encourage others to spread kindness in their lives.” Behind the challenge is the idea that doing something for 21 days in a row instills the practice as an enduring habit. The challenge is a chance for students, teachers and families to establish kinder

habits that will last all year or even a lifetime. Anaheim, which officially adopted City of Kindness as its motto in 2017, is the only standalone city signed on to the challenge. Other participants include the Miami Heat basketball team, New York City’s Thrive NYC and Kind Healthy Snacks. Anaheim is enlisting the power of our schools to take part in the 21 Days to Be Kind Challenge. They’ll be encouraging their students to take part in the 21 days of kindness. The city will be promoting the challenge on social media and through other city communications. Participants can share their experience on social media with the hashtag #BeKind21.
