Temple City Husband and Wife Plead Guilty to Selling Falsely Claimed Inspected Meat
A
meat processor that supplied Southern California grocery chains, the company’s owner and a plant manager have pleaded guilty to federal charges related to the sale of “misbranded” beef, pork and poultry products that illegally bore the official USDA mark and falsely indicated the meats had been inspected by federal authorities. As a result of the illegal conduct related to a facility operated by AA Meat Products in the City of Commerce, investigators with the United States Department of Agriculture seized approximately 568,000 pounds of meat and poultry products, and the USDA issued a Class I recall led to the recovery of another nearly one-half million pounds of meat – all of which had to be destroyed. San Bernardino Public Library to Hold American Girl Doll Tea When you go to the Central Library in the City of San Bernardino, you will soon be able to check out more than books. The wildly popular American Girl Dolls will be available for checkout at the Feldheym Central Library beginning
in late August. The doll kits include a doll, carrying case, a book about the doll, and a journal. This project, which is funded by the San Bernardino City Library Foundation, is designed to provide an engaging learning experi-
ence for children in our community. Children will get the opportunity to take home and play with the beloved dolls. They will learn about the characters

Long Beach Awarded National Innovation Grant The City of Long Beach has been selected by the Citi Foundation and Living Cities as one of five cities in the nation to participate in the City Accelerator program’s fifth cohort. The other four cities
include: Atlanta, El Paso, Newark, and Rochester. In addition to a $100,000 grant, each city will receive a combination of coaching, technical assistance and implementation resources in the coming
year. Long Beach’s focus will be on entrepreneurship and job growth. “Long Beach is committed to advancing

Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Receives Grant The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department has been awarded a $ 97,815.00 grant from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) for 2018-2019. The grant will help fund operations for a number of programs to
battle alcohol related crime, combat underage drinking, and educate licensees about alcoholic beverage laws. The grant will cover those cities and unincorporated areas serviced by the Jurupa Valley Station, Hemet Station, Cabazon Station,
Palm Desert Station, and the contract cities: Calimesa, Eastvale, Jurupa Valley, Indian Wells, Norco, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, and San Jacinto.
