Pasadena Police Seeking Public's Help Identifying Burglary Suspects Staff WRITER editorial@beaconmedianews.com
Two burglars ransacked two homes on the 1000 block of Heatherside Rd., and 100 block of San Rafael Ave. Suspects used bricks to smash windows and gain entry at both locations. Suspect 1 is described as a male, White or Hispanic, 18-20 years old, 5'10", medium build, short black hair, and wearing a black sweatshirt, black pants, a black baseball cap with a white colored symbol and
white Air Jordan-type shoes. Suspect 2 is described as a male, Black, 18-20 years old, 5'8", thin build, black hair, and wearing a black sweatshirt, black shorts, and black shoes. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a 2017 Gray Hyundai Elantra with "Glendale" paper plates. Much to the delight of those who appreciate peaceful sleep (and their canine buddies), the City of Pasadena has stepped up efforts to deter the use of fireworks before the Fourth of July holiday. At their latest regular meeting, the Pasadena City Council unanimously approved modifications to the city’s municipal code that
will make property owners and tenants liable for any fireworks “used, possessed, sold, or discharged on their property,” according to the city staff’s report. The strengthened ordinance aims to give the Fire and Police Departments the ability to enforce the city’s fireworks prohibition, even if the perpetrator is unable to be identified, as is typically the SEE FIREWORKS PAGE 11

Four city measures will be on the June 5 State Primary Election ballot. Two measures will be amendments to the City Charter, which will move election dates for City Council and Pasadena Unified School District Board of Education from odd years to coincide with state and federal elections in even years so as
to be consistent with the California Voter participation Rights Act (CVPRA). The measure regarding the Board of Education will also consolidate the current primary-general election into a single plurality election.
