omona Police officer Greggory Casillas was killed when he was shot through a door during a lengthy standoff in the 1400 block of South Palomares Street, in Pomona on March 9. The suspect in the shooting, 38-year-old Isaias De Jesus Valencia, has been charged with murder in Casillas’ death.

Casillas, a 30-year-old father of two, was just about to complete his field training when he was gunned down. Thursday's service for Casillas was held at Purpose Church located at 601 N. Garey Avenue in Pomona. The Pomona Police Officers Association has set up a fund to support the Casillas family.

Anaheim Needs Help Redesigning Their City Flag

New Grand Jury Website Makes It Easy To Apply For A Seat

Anaheim is redesigning their city flag and you can help. From now through April 20, they’re accepting designs from residents and those who work in Anaheim as part of the “Our Next Flag” program. Mayor Tom Tait, who requested the flag program, will be part of a three-person City

Council subcommittee that will look at submitted designs. The current flag was adopted in 1967 to fly at what’s today Angel Stadium of Anaheim as well as the Anaheim Convention Center, which both opened that year.

Long Beach Woman Sentenced to Prison for Killing Boyfriend A 34-year-old woman was sentenced to seven years in state prison for stabbing her boyfriend nearly two years ago, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced. On Feb. 14, Yvonne Marie Pina of Long Beach pleaded no contest to one count of voluntary manslaughter in case NA103701.
