Dr. Patricia A. Rasmussen Installed as President of the Citrus Community College District Board of Trustees

D

r. Patricia A. Rasmussen was installed as the president of the Citrus Community College District Board of Trustees during the board's annual organizational meeting held on Dec. 5. She was first elected to the board in 2007. As one of five governing board members, Dr. Rasmussen represents Glendora and portions of San Dimas. A career educator, Dr. Rasmussen taught English and journalism at the high school and college levels. In 1983, she joined the Citrus College staff where she held several administrative positions, including dean of planning and economic development; administrative dean of planning and institutional advancement; director of development/ assistant to the president; and director of public affairs. Dr. Rasmussen retired as vice president of institutional advancement at Mt. San Antonio College in 2005. "Being selected to serve as board president by my colleagues on the board of trustees is truly an honor," said Dr. Rasmussen. "Higher education has been a focal point of my life and career for many years, and I am very proud to serve as a trustee for Citrus College." Anaheim Police Department Conducts Minor Decoy Operation The Anaheim Police Department’s Vice Unit conducted a Minor Decoy Operation at eight Anaheim locations on Jan. 18, 2018. The operation resulted in one citation for the sale of alcohol to a minor. Decoy Operations target retail establishments that have Department of Alcoholic Beverage

licenses. Under the program, minor decoys, enter a business and attempt to purchase alcohol directly from the store clerk or cashier. The minors are directed to show their California driver’s license, California identification card, or tell the employee their age if asked. See Page 2

Applications Now Being Accepted Long Beach Officer Involved For The San Bernardino County in Shooting on Baltic Avenue Civil Grand Jury Applications for the 2018-2019 San Bernardino County Civil Grand Jury are now being accepted. Successful applicants will serve as Grand Jurors for the fiscal year period beginning July 1, 2018 and ending June 30, 2019. The Civil Grand Jury is charged by the California Penal Code to investigate all aspects of county governance, including cities

and special districts, and also potentially hear information on certain criminal investigations. All communications to the Grand Jury are confidential and every signed citizen complaint is responded to after investigated. On January 20, 2018, at approximately 6:00 PM, Long Beach Police Officers saw a suspicious person on a bicycle in the area of Burnett Street and Santa Fe Avenue and attempted to contact that person for traffic violations they observed. However, he was not compliant with the officers’ lawful detention and commands, and subsequently fled from them on foot, and

a foot pursuit ensued. An officer chased the suspect to the north/south alley between Adriatic and Baltic, south of 25th Street, where he caught up to the suspect.
