El Monte Bus Driver Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assaults on 30 Year Old Dependent Adult On June 26, the El Monte Police Department received information that Antelmo Medina had sexually assaulted a 30 year old female, dependent adult. Medina is the victim’s shuttle bus driver who transports San Gabriel Valley area dependent adults to 11436 Garvey Ave.- The Dream House. The Dream House is a privately owned, and State of California licensed dependent adult, day care facility. A subsequent investigation resulted in Medina being arrested and booked per PC 243.4 (e)(1)- sexual battery, at the El Monte Police Department. Today, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office – El Monte Superior Court Branch filed one misdemeanor count of PC 243.4 (e)(1) – sexual battery against Medina. Antelmo Medina was responsible for picking up dependent adults at their residence, driving them to the Dream House facility and returning them home. The alleged crime occurred while Medina transported the victim to her residence. Medina also served as a physical fitness coach at The Dream House. He has worked at the facility for approximately 8 months. Refer to the attached photograph and suspect booking information. This investigation is ongoing and anyone with additional information regarding this crime or any other inappropriate behavior by Antelmo Medina is being asked to contact the El Monte Police Department Detective Bureau at (626)5802172 or via email at tips@empd.org.

New State Budget Includes $1 million Allocation for Cheech Marin Center Efforts to raise money for the Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art, Culture and Industry in downtown Riverside got a huge boost today when Gov. Brown signed off on the state budget, which includes a $1 million allocation for the center. Assemblymember Jose Medina of Riverside led the effort to set aside the state funds, which was applauded by the three entities bringing the Cheech Marin Center to fruition: the City of Riverside, the Riverside Art Museum (RAM), and the noted entertainer/art

collector. The funding will make a significant dent in the $3 million that must be raised by the end of February under the terms of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) approved by the Riverside City Council in May. “The Cheech Marin Center in my home of Riverside is poised to make a major statement about the contributions of Chicanos and Latinos across California,” Assemblymember Medina said. “I am excited to see how the Center will SEE PAGE 3
