Two adults and one child were killed and one student injured in an apparent murder-suicide at North Park Elementary School in San Bernardino, Monday. The shooting was believed to be the result of a domestic dispute, a school official said. One of the victims was believed to be a teacher. Police responded to the
shooting at North Park Elementary School in San Bernardino, Calif., on Monday morning. According to preliminary information released by officials, there were a total of four victims, including the suspected shooter. San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan said early indications where it
was a "murder suicide" that occurred inside a classroom at the school. At least one of the victims was said to be a teacher, according to a spokeswoman for the school district. Police agencies, including the San Bernardino Police Department, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and California Highway Pa-
trol were responding, as well as the San Bernardino County Fire Department. Police were in the process of clearing classrooms, according to radio traffic at 10:50 a.m. The incident was isolated to the North Park campus. The shooting was believed to be the result of a domestic dispute, she said. Two injured students
were airlifted to the hospital for treatment. Their conditions were not immediately known. Students at the school were in the process of being taken to a nearby high school for safety, the chief said. According to a report in the Los Angeles Tines, “The shooting comes as San Bernardino has seen a major in-
crease in violence. There were 62 slayings in San Bernardino in 2016 — a 41% increase from the year before. It was the deadliest year in the city since 1995. The violence is an open wound on a city trying to recover from a prolonged bankruptcy and the 2015 terror attack.”
