Council Halts Kimpton YWCA Hotel in Its Tracks BY GUS HERRERA

n Monday, the controversial Kimpton YWCA “Boutique Hotel” Project came to a screeching halt. A 5-2 vote adopted Council Member Victor Gordo’s substitute
motion to pause the project and re-evaluate the situation. Mayor Terry Tornek and Council Member Gene Masuda comprised the opposing votes (Council Member Steve Madison was absent).

Woman Killed in Weekend Shooting in Pasadena
On April 1, at about 10:09 p.m., Pasadena Police officers were on patrol in the 200 block of West Washington Boulevard when they were flagged down by a citizen who said a person had
been shot inside a nearby residence. Officers located the dwelling, entered and discovered a 38-year-old female suffering from a gunshot wound. Pasadena Fire arrived on the scene
and pronounced the women dead shortly after. The coroner has identified the victim as 38-year-old Kelly Clark. Investigation revealed AnSEE PAGE 10
