Temple City Sister City is proud to send our 2016 student ambassadors off to Hawkesbury, Australia as part of the Sister City Exchange program. They departed LAX on Sunday evening at 10:30 p.m. and will return on Aug. 20. The 2016 ambassadors are: Hailey Fawk, Nicole Kimijima, Taylor McKendrick, Natalie Scigliano, Codi Weisz, and Christie Wong. The students will stay with host families in Hawkesbury City outside of Sydney for one month. During their stay, they will attend Australian schools, visit the Australian capitol, see the sites, and certainly squeeze in some fun. The Sister City relationship between Temple City and Hawkesbury City was established in 1984. We have been sending and receiving exchange students since 2000. This year's students were selected after applying for the program, participating in workshops and interviews. We know this group will represent Temple City and our schools well. We wish them a spectacular trip! Applications for the 2017 Exchange trip are available at city hall. Thank you Temple City and the Sister Cities Association for providing this opportunity of a lifetime for our great students!
