Wildfire Containment Improves Evacuee Re-Population Began Wednesday Afternoon – June 22 BY GUS HERRERA The San Gabriel Complex consists of two fires that started the morning of Monday, June 20: the Reservoir Fire and the Fish Fire. Combined acreage for the complex is now 4,900 acres (1,200 acres for

the Reservoir Fire and 3,700 acres for the Fish Fire). Both fires are 10 percent contained as of Wednesday afternoon, June 22. 1,404 personnel are currently engaged on these fires, including hand-crews, engines, helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft, bull dozers, and

water tenders. A press conference was held on Wednesday morning at 9 a.m., regarding the re-population plans of the evacuated communities. A total of 858 homes were originally evacuated and a local state of emergency was declared in the City of

Duarte on Tuesday afternoon, June 21. Residents in the Brookridge area (approximately 534 homes) north of Royal Oaks Drive, east of Green Bank Avenue, and west of Encanto Parkway were able to return to their homes Wednesday at noon, along with their small pets.

Felony Vandalism Investigation Ultimately Leads Officers to an Arrest

A female was detained on Saturday morning, June 18, after she allegedly vandalized three different buildings and one parked vehicle by throwing rocks through the window(s) of

the structures and the vehicle. While officers from the Sierra Madre Police Department were investigating the incidents, they soon learned that numerous locations

were also vandalized with rocks in the City of Arcadia. During the course of the investigation, SMPD officers obtained information that SEE PAGE 13
