AHS Constitution Team Wins State Finals
The Arcadia High School (AHS) Constitution Team won the State Finals in Bakersfield last Saturday. The team will head to Washington, D.C., for the National Finals in April. The team effort was comprised of 30 students, teacher/leader Megan Leahy, and several volunteer coaches. “I am incredibly lucky to teach such a fine group of young men and women. They have dedicated a large part of their senior year to this team. Watching them progress into the informed citizens they are today makes me very hopeful for the future. It is truly an honor to be their coach. “The team is helped by other coaches including: Kevin Fox, Miriam Lopez, Mark Hong, Carl Nielsen, Bob Garrett, and Gary Kovacic,” said Megan Leahy. The National Competition will take place in Washington, D.C., from April 22 to 25. They will participate in congressional style hearings SEE PAGE 15
