BY SHEL SEGAL After a lengthy session, the San Gabriel City Council voted to hold a special hearing at 1 p.m. on April 25 to determine whether or not City Council Member-Elect Chin Ho Liao meets the residency requirement to serve on the council. The meeting will take place at San Gabriel City Hall, located at 425 South Mission Drive. Liao finished in the top three in the March 5 municipal election, but has not yet been seated as a resident wrote a letter to say Liao does not live in the city limits. Liao has since filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior County, demanding that he be seated. The judge in the case has given the city Please see page 8

His remarkable life and career has been explored by media worldwide in recent days. I, however, felt a personal tribute was in order.
